Chapter 45: Teaching Method

The day went by and it was already after classes. Since Angelie had to prepare her teaching materials for the study group, she stayed inside the room. Most of the other students in their classroom had already left. Once she finished preparing her things, she stood up and left the room. Angelie went to class 2-C to meet up with Mimi. When Angelie opened the door of the classroom of 2-C, Mimi was sitting down and waiting quietly. Mimi saw Angelie at the door. She stood up and went with Angelie toward their clubroom.

Upon reaching the hallway near their clubroom, they saw that there was a line of students forming in the hallway. As they went closer and closer to their clubroom, they noticed that the line of students started from inside the clubroom of the Help club.

"Um, Mimi-san. What is going on here?"

Angelie looked at the students who were lined up in the hallway.

"Unfortunately, I do not know. But if I were to guess, it might have something to do with that Demon Lord."

Mimi shook her head.

The two of them finally reached the door. They saw that their room was jampacked with students. Akuma was standing near the entrance.

"You! What is the meaning of this?"

Angelie grabbed Akuma's shoulder so he would turn around and face her.

"Ah, there you are, Sensei! Hey everyone! She's finally here to teach us!"

Akuma shouted while looking directly at Angelie. The other students cheered out loud, even those outside the room.

"Uh, please excuse us for a moment. We have to discuss something."

Angelie grabbed Akuma's ear and dragged him toward the hallway, away from the students that were lined up near their clubroom. When they reached a safe distance, she let go of his ear.

"Damn, that hurts!"

Akuma rubbed the ear that Angelie grabbed.

"Oh, you will hurt more if you don't tell me what's going on here!"

Angelie was cracking her knuckles.

"Calm down, you violent Saint! There's a really good explanation for this!"

"Then start talking!"

Her knuckle cracking became louder.

"Well, since I'll be forced to undergo torture by listening to you talk even after class, I thought why not help others along the way."

He smirked at Angelie.

"Help them… how?"

Angelie raised her eyebrow.

"You'll be teaching everyone here! Two birds in one stone! The members who need to study gets to study, and the club gets exposure by helping others study. Ah, I marvel at my genius once again."

Akuma put his hand on his chin as he closed his eyes and smiled.

"You have to tell me these things first!"

Angelie kicked him in the shin.

"Ouch! What was that for!"

Akuma lifted his leg and rubbed his shin.

"Anyway, since we can help a lot of students, then I'm all for it. But we need to find a bigger room. And you three will sit in front where I can see you. I will make sure you listen and take in everything I say."

Angelie smirked at Akuma, then walked back toward their clubroom.

The Help club informed everyone waiting inside their clubroom and outside on the hallway to meet at 2-B's classroom. There were enough seats inside the classroom for all those who wanted to join the study group. Some students were from the other second-year classes. When they arrived at the classroom of 2-B, Mimi made sure to sit the three problematic members in front. Mimi started the study group as the first instructor.

"…And so, that is how to interpret this sentence."

Mimi stopped writing on the blackboard. There were some unruly students at the back of the room. Mimi snapped the chalk she had in her hands. Then, she turned around and threw the pieces of the chalk at the foreheads of the unruly students. It was a direct hit that the two students fell from their seats. Everyone inside the room looked at the students who fell to the floor.

"If you are not interested to be in this study group, please leave immediately. You are disturbing the rest of the students who want to learn."

The two students hurriedly sat back down on their chairs and sat up straight. Upon seeing this, the other students who were watching the unruly students also sat up straight.

"I see that you all sincerely want to learn. Very well, then. But if this happens again, I am not sure if I would be holding chalk instead of, let's say, this very sharp pen."

Mimi touched the tip of the pen that she picked up from the table in front of her.

Everyone swallowed and held their breaths.

---

Angelie went to the faculty office to use the photocopy machine. She made work sheets beforehand for the three Help club members. But since the number of participants grew, she had to make more copies. When she returned to 2-B's classroom, the students inside were all silent. Angelie looked around the class as she approached Mimi.

"Mimi-san, what happened here? Why is everyone so quiet?"

Angelie asked as she placed the work sheets that she photocopied on top of the teacher's table located in front of the room.

"Some were not listening even though they themselves decided to be here. So, I had to get their attention somehow."

Mimi glared at everyone who was seated. Their heads were all bowed down.

"And… how did you do that, exactly?"

Angelie forced a smile as she looked at Mimi.

"I had some... very encouraging words for them. It seemed to work as they are all focused now."

Mimi then sat down on the chair located at the side of the blackboard.

It was now Angelie's turn to teach the students. While standing in front of everyone, she saw Sanaka looking at her. Sanaka was dragging her finger across her neck as tears were welling up in her eyes. Angelie looked at her and raised her eyebrow. But since Sanaka wasn't talking, Angelie just shrugged and faced the blackboard to start writing.

Sanaka reached out her hand toward Angelie, who now had her back facing everyone. Sanaka then glanced at Mimi. She saw that Mimi was looking at her direction. Sweat drops started to fall from Sanaka's forehead. She then pulled back her hand and looked down.

---

After Angelie was done discussing the topics for that afternoon, she handed out the work sheet handouts to everyone. It covered everything that Angelie and Mimi discussed.

Everyone started to answer it. After a while, Angelie and Mimi collected the answered work sheets from the students. Angelie announced that they were done for the day and that they would meet again the following day in their classroom. After Angelie was done talking, everyone stood up and bowed at the same time, and then ran out of the room. Only Angelie and Mimi were left inside the room.

"Wow, they were a lot more cooperative than I had hoped. I guess the midterms are important to those three now. Everyone else were really into it, too."

Angelie sat down and started to check the answers. Mimi was also checking the other half of the work sheets. After a while, they were done.

"Their scores are surprisingly not that bad. I guess they really were listening. Maybe we have a future as teachers, Mimi-san."

Angelie smiled at Mimi.

"I think that you do, Angelie-san. They were all listening to you so intently."

Mimi smiled back at Angelie.

"I noticed that, as well. Though I felt like they were somehow afraid of me…? Was I that strict?"

"I didn't think so. I believe you were just that good at explaining things and making things easier to understand."

Mimi started to pack her things.

"I see… Thanks for the confidence booster, Mimi-san. At first I thought that Demon Lord thought of another stupid idea, but this isn't so bad."

Angelie smiled a little as she also prepared to leave.

---

The following day, everyone met directly inside the classroom of 2-B after classes. Unexpectedly, there were some new students who joined the study group. Angelie again went to the faculty office to use the photocopy machine. Like the previous day, Mimi started the study group.

The students who were there yesterday were all quiet and focused, while the new students were quite noisy. Mimi again snapped the chalk she was holding and hurled its pieces toward the noisy students. Three male students fell from their seats. This time, the three students ran out of the room. They ran across Angelie who was on her way to returning to the classroom. She wondered why the students were running away so she rushed toward the classroom. She peeked inside to see what was happening.

"So, is there anyone else not interested in learning?"

Mimi held up a piece of chalk in her hand.

"Wow, she's really like a ninja or something! Do it again!"

A new student in the study group exclaimed and stood up from his chair.

Mimi threw the chalk at the student who stood up.

"Mimi-san! Stop that! You're going to scare everyone! Wait a minute… They were scared yesterday! Because of you?!"

Angelie entered the classroom and dropped the work sheets.
