I looked at my small room in distaste. The room only held a small steel bed , a wooden dresser, an old , used study desk that someone gave to my father and a chair.

My father was a mailman, too poor to afford anything, a fact almost everyone in our town knew. Whenever something got old , or damaged for anyone in our town to use they'd give it to us . The infamous poor family who survives on hand me downs

When I was young, I remember my mother used to dress me in hand me down clothes that she will get from people she used to work for . My mother was a maid , she used to clean people's houses and sometimes would take me there as well

I remember looking at the rich people with jealousy. From the way they lived , to what they wore and ate. I would look at them with tears in my eyes knowing I would never have what they did

But growing up I decided to change all that. I started working part times so I can buy my own clothes. I stopped going to the houses with my mother and made a name for myself. I was no longer the mailman's daughter or so I thought

Juliette Lewis , a stunningly beautiful girl with platinum blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes, she left everyone who would dare to look at her mesmerized . She was that girl who everyone adored and wanted to look like ,and with her extremely thin waist and long legs she was that girl everyone went gaga for.

Heads turned wherever she went and just at the age of 17 she was very well aware of the fact of how she can manipulate people , essential men with the right and flirtatious movement of her body and took full advantage of that.

Like now for example she was talking to William Cornwell a thug looking boy she goes to highschool with . The boy was gazing at her lips perhaps in a daze , it was clear from just looking at him that the boy was in love with Juliette. 'He is so dumb' Juliette though to herself noticing how he was looking at her

She scowled after noticing that he have zoned out "seriously William are you even listening?" She asked abruptly the boy still lost in his thoughts just nodded with a hazy look in his eyes, but Juliette knew better,

Suddenly Juliette snapped her finger Infront of him . Which bought the boy into his senses and he looked at her apologetically "I am sorry, I was thinking about something" he attempted to lie "what were you saying?" he whispered sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck.

Juliette wanted to laugh that boy was a joker and only if she didn't needed him now she would never talk to him , she thought.

His neck and cheeks went red as he lowered his head ashamed, knowing that Juliette saw how head over heels he was over her,

Juliette saw how flustered the boy looked and smirked to herself. she grabbed his hand that was resting on the table she bought it near her chest . Juliette rubbed the back of his hand with her thumb and giggled she looked at the boy and blinked several times before slowly saying

"I was just telling you how much I need you . I am tired of living this life. I can't live like a peasant anymore . I am not just a dumb daughter of a mailman, that people think of me .I want to be something more",

Juliette said slowly "I mean I just want one day ... Just one day to feel like a queen. Will you do something for me William?".

"Anything " William replied like a love sick puppy before realizing how he was leaning towards her and how pathetic he must be looking ,shaking his head and pulling his hand from her grasp gently.

He can't be seen acting like this in public he have to act like a man he thought and sat a little straight up and cleared his throat before repeating "anything for you Juliette".

Juliette studied him a bit she knew William was the boy who can help her as he was a trader in his own self. She knew he will definitely have the thing she was looking for "I want you to get me the tickets for Josephs party this weekend" she finally blurted.

"Come on Juliette understand that rich brat will do you no good .......... And even if I give you the passes to his party I don't think he'll be interested in you like that anyway so forget it, you have me honey " as he said that Juliette glared at the man and he recoiled

"Look he is an old man , I mean kind of and you are just a 17 years old girl . There is no way anything romantic can happen between you two,"

"What I meant was he have a wife . A charming, lovely and most importantly a mature woman. "

Juliette had enough she stood up and went ahead to leave the cafe if William will not help her get the passes for Lord Joseph's party then she will have to find someone who will.

She was halfway to the exit door when William finally caved in "okay fine I'll get you the passes " Juliette turned back and hugged willam squealing.

Joseph Hastings was a 37 years old man who had women eating from the palm of his hand . He was the wealthiest gentleman in the whole town and was greatly respected.

Joseph had light brown hairs and brown eyes ,his chiseled and sharp jawline made him the most attractive man among the townsfolk . The fact that he was married was largely ignored by the young girls who would swoon over him but Joseph paid heed to no one for he was loyal to his wife

It was in the middle of summer and Joseph was hosting a BBQ in his mansion after which he was throwing a legendary ball which all the townsfolk were curious and excited about just like Juliette .

Juliette went straight to her home after she made William promise her the passes , Juliette's house was a one story small hut . And the only reason Juliette was so keen on impressing

Joseph was, due to his money.

As he was her ticket out of this poverty stricken life of hers . Her father was the mailman . And her mother a housewife . Her mother sometimes worked as a seamstress for noble families when money would go tight.

And Juliette Lewis worked at the small and only bakery in her town to buy beautiful dresses and shoes for herself.

As Juliette entered her house she was engulfed in a warm hug by her little brother . Her brunette hair mother soon followed her son and gave Juliette a kiss on her cheeks as a greeting,

"Welcome back dear , come inside and help me with the dinner and you too James come ....hurry" her mother said in her usual polite voice Juliette scowled looking at her mother's appearance

Her mothers hand and arms were covered in flour as it seems like she was baking something in the kitchen , her eyebrows undone and her hair unkempt

She resented the way her mother carried herself. She was letting herself go and sometimes Juliette questions perhaps that was the reason her mother married her father a poor mailman instead of someone like Joseph.

Juliette ignored her mother and scoffed as if she would put her soft hand in the flour to knead the hard dough . She went inside her room to take out some of her savings to buy a splendid dress for the ball.

Hours later she finally found the perfect dress . It was a rose gold dress that clung to her body like a second skin and was bedazzled with small golden beads . The dress was breathtaking yet bold,

But Juliette did not care for all she wanted was to entice the host that day. She also bought the arsanic powder and a box of blush

However she kept the dress hidden from her mother for she knew that if Mary ever saw the sheer dress her daughter instead to wear Infront of the whole town she will go ballistic.

As she was having her dinner her favorite lamb chops , some cabbage soup and freshly baked bread she heard the doorbell ring. Her parents looked at her expectantly and after a long sigh she went to open the door

And in front of her stood William looking all smug she stood on one foot tapping her foot impatiently silently asking William the reason he came when her eyes went down to his hand she started squealing,

"Ohhh my god you didn't" she asked William and abruptly snatched the passes from his hands William just smiled looking at her acting like a child

"Yes I did you and me we are both going to the ball and honey give me my pass back" he snatched one pass from Juliette while the other remained in her hands she jumped on him and gave him a big hug

William was startled yet he returned her hug and left after a brief goodbye .

Juliette showed the pass to her parents and went to her room excitedly, her lamb chops completely forgotten and her parents sat at the table with a

awkward worried smiles on their face .
