"And mister Walton?" I inquired in care.
"He will be leading his journey off after breakfast child. I already provided him the letter to the king." Explained Edward.
"You didn't present it to me before you submitted it. Don't you think whatever you wrote needed my consent?" I asked in disappointment. "Mr. Walton is my guest Edward. I can't just leave him with no see of me." I continued when suddenly I had of Mr. Walton's voice chuckle from my back.
"Good morning Miss Lyle." He greeted standing upon the mercy of his ugly mustache that I had not noticed earlier.
"Good morning Mr. Walton. I believe you had a wonderful night.
"Yes I did! I hope to be setting off back to the Duskwick palace as soon as now if you don't mind miss Lyle." He said.
"Tell the king I send my regards." I replied watching him gaze at Simmons carefully as she though hid in my back.
"And the young man, I haven't met him." Mentioned Walton.
"Yes. What some manners I got. Let me introduce you please. Mr. Walton, young Simmons. My companion."
"Nice meeting you young man. Don't you look familiar?" He stated keenly staring into her eyes.
"I don't believe we have met sir. Walton." Answered Simmons.
"Alright then. I must wish you a safe journey to where your heading mister Edward." Forwarded he tipping off his hat. "Miss Lyle. It's been a pleasure dear. Thank you."
We all watched him to his carriage as we led to our own that was led out fast. Simmons was seated quietly besides me as Mr. Edward sat in front the both of us.
He looked disturbed with something but smirked every time I gave him a serious gaze.
It had been a while in like forever since I last heard a train whistle around town. I obviously had to look through and watch what was happening on the outside.
I drew the carriage curtain when Mr. Edward said that it wasn't a good idea.
Not for that long, we arrived Smallhaven. The town was very known for growing rice and coffee. it was like the only work they knew how to do. And of course my father was the only gold miner in this town. He had discovered the gold around eight years ago and he bought the land from an old man who wanted to sell it off for food. For those stories he always told me. He thought there was need for my awareness.
"We are here." Puffed Benedict stopping the carriage and we all led out.
The land was surprisingly sort of deserted, at least I thought until I got to see three women passing by.
"What's this place called?" I asked from Mr. Edward.
"It's known as Tierra del Diego. The land of fire. Your father rented it to the migrants from the south. They take care of this place. They are Latin natives. They don't speak english but I believe you can understand what they say."
"Yes. I've heard of these people. They say magic rumors around these lands and not any ordinary person goes through here."
"People hate what they fear. This land is owned by your late father and it's ran by a lady who goes by the name Maggot Cicero. Though she only met with your father and not with anyone else."
"What are we to see around these lands then?"
"Your welcome. My name is Janet " greeted a young lady who approached us anonymously. "The mistress is ready to have a word with you miss Lyle." She said having me worried to my feet for the fact that she knew who I was and named me out with my title.
"Alright. I need him to accompany me though?" I said pointing at Simmons.
"Of course. She hoped you would insist to that. Follow me." Responded the lady.
I would say that after she had seen me naked, I thought of trusting her with everything. Despite the fact that she wasn't that of a person I had known for long. I knew i wanted to trust her so bad.
We sloped following the lady as Mr. Edward and Benedict stayed in the keeps of the other gentlemen.
We arrived the hosting house where we expected to meet Ms. Maggot. Janet stood by the door as though she wasn't allowed to head inside and gestured for us to enter.
It was dark on the inside and there seemed to be no one. It was in a while when she came hurriedly towards us with a big smile that gave us the comfort we hoped not to find.
"Welcome to my humble home miss Lyle." She greeted showing us to the seats.
"Thank you Ms. Maggot." Responded I as I kept my eyes looking around in amusement. The place wore a rare design of animal bones and skeletons that if they were found in anyone's house at that time, they would execute them for practicing sorcery. The sounds that led out of her house rang like metallic bells that for sure came from the hanging bones upon the ceiling.
"Please have a seat."
Simmons led down first as I still stood astonished with the looks and beauty.
"How do you manage this place ms. Maggot?" Inquired I.
"I just do the usual. Grow rice and coffee." Replied she chuckling in expectation we took it as a joke. "And you are the mystery in my dream young lady?" Said she looking a Simmons.
"Oh no. This is my companion Maximus Simmons. He is a boy ms." Responded I hurriedly.
"Of course you expect me to believe you. Does she look like a boy to you?" She asked with proof. " the last time I spoke to lord Hocus. He told me about your stay at his home Willete Duskwick. "
"What are you talking about?" Inquired I disturbed. "Who is lord Hocus."
"Your father. He went by Smallhaven as lord Hocus. Though it's only I who knows him by the name of Flynn Marinda."
