CHAPTER 1

Agency of National Affairs.

Conference room.

2:14 PM.

"Your program has been temporarily removed due to this breaking news."

"Various outbreaks of flowers, specifically, flowering plants that produce fruits are deteriorating in all seven continents have been repor…"

A reporter broadcasts on the news.

"This is a big problem. If all flowers are withering then we humans could also die." A minister said, stating the obvious.

"We know that, what we should talk about is how to resolve this and how to maintain our food so we don't run out." Another minister stated.

"We should contact the best florists to study the deteriorating flowers." A minister added.

"Our best scientists will be needed to study whatever was put in the deteriorating followers and a solution too. Finding the culprit is our best option." A minister spoke up.

"Also, we would have to contact some science agencies to see how they would be of help."

"Action speaks louder than words." The Prime Minister said wisely.

"True." A minister agreed. "We can't just continue saying what we should do. We need to take action."

"Minister of Food." The Prime Minister called.

"Sir?" He answered.

"You should know your job already. You're in charge of preserving food."

The Minister of Food simply bowed in respect and left the room.

The Prime Minister commanded the Minister of Science to meet the best science agencies and get them working all over the nation.

. . .

"I would like to have a meeting with your Head Scientist regarding the current issue of flower deterioration."

The Minister of Science had obeyed the instructions of the Prime Minister and he had embarked on his journey to resolve the flower conflict by going to one of the top science agencies. They had good records and had trained scientists from all over the world.

"Sir, do you have an appointment?" The receptionist asked politely.

Upon hearing that, the Minister of Science motioned for his personal assistant to attend to the receptionist while pacing around the room.

"Sir." The receptionist called. The Minister turned around.

"Mr. Erik would be ready for you soon."

A few minutes later, the receptionist finally said, "Please come in."

The receptionist showed him the way to Mr. Erik's office. As the Minister of Science, Lucas got into the room his eyes immediately fell on the many science apparatus he had seen, he spotted Mr. Erik placing a chemical into a bottle of green liquid causing a chemical reaction.

Clearing his throat, Lucas said, "Long time no see, Mr. Erik."

Erik turned around and without lifting a smile, he asked, "What do you want, Mr. Lucas. I don't have much time."

"I see, no time for pleasantries."

"Go straight to the point already."

"You know why I'm here, Mr. Erik."

"You want me and my group to study those deteriorating flowers and hopefully, come up with a solution."

"Correct."

"How much are you offering me here?"

"My assistant will discuss that with you."

"I hope it's a reasonable amount."

"Trust me, it is."

"You have our alliance," Mr. Erik assured him, shaking hands with Mr. Lucas.
