Chapter 3
(1 week time skip)
Nevermind, it's way harder than expected.
I tried following the blueprints but it was nowhere near good enough. And the jaeger parts, well they are extremely heavy. I've decided to live inside the jaeger head as the kaiju don't seem to attack "Dead" ones. Back to the mini jaeger, the blueprints are nowhere near complete. I've been trying to replace some parts with things easier to access. Like the gears with metal rods instead of jaeger ones because they are huge.
(3 year time skip)
The jaeger is a little past halfway done. There has been a lot of ripper activity lately so I have been more careful when going out. A bone spur had come across the city and luckily didn't attack the jaeger. It leaned down and sniffed first. I believe they hunt with smell considering I was right in front of the glass
(2 year time skip)
It's been 5 years since the city was attacked. Using my much better hearing I managed to avoid any kaijus that entered the city and the rippers that started living there.
A few days Ago I turned nineteen and the mini jaeger was coming to a finish. I've used almost all applicable parts of the jaeger that fought the copperhead, only leaving the one who fought the acid quill. Rippers had been in the city for more than 2 years now so getting food has been tough but I made it.
I added on the last piece of armor on the leg and it was finally time for a test run. I climbed into the jaeger which I changed the name to blitz. The blue prints made it so that it was kind of slow but I changed it to a slimmer build. For no other reason for this is to run away. Hopping in I made sure not to install any mic's and sound proofed it just in case.
I pressed a button and it came to life. In Front of me I could see outside the jaeger at a height of 22 feet. I tried moving one step and fell over. 'I hope nothing heard that.' I got back up and tried again. I didn't fall this time but it was still pretty slow, luckily It didn't make much noise, roughly the same as an air conditioner.
I took another step stabilizing myself. Eventually I tried picking up the pace, to get into a light jog, coming to a full blown sprint. I wouldn't say I'm super fast, but I'm definitely able to escape. Next, to test our strength, I went over to some part I didn't use for the jaeger and picked them up. They looked like about a hundred pounds of parts, so that's decent.
I went over to a car to pick it up as well. It again was pretty easy to pick up. Then I went over to the jaeger i lived in for the past 5 years and lifted up its leg. It was a little harder but not too hard. I tried lifting up the entire thing but could only do it for a few minutes before the jaeger started to buckle under the weight so I dropped it.
I was about to do more testing until I heard a scream. In the distance I saw a huge jaeger, Kaiju? Picking something up. I ran into a nearby building and hid. I was hitting the roof but I was fine. I heard it leave and waited a few minutes before coming back out. When I came out I saw 2 teens running from some rippers.
'Please don't make me do this' the rippers started to catch up. 'Time for the combat test' I ran out scooping the two up and started running. 'Never mind' This is a runner not a fighter. Unfortunately I wasn't used to running yet and tripped. Before I fell I stuffed the teens inside a building. As I fell , a ripper had pounced and landed a few feet in front of me. I got back up and put up my fist.
One of the rippers launched towards me. I threw a punch knocking it down but then one more came and bit my arm. It started tugging on it, I kicked and then 2 more jumped on my back knocking me over. I tried to grab the ones off my back but it was a losing battle.
All of a sudden the big kaiju/Jaeger reached down and grabbed a ripper and ate it. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth I shook the rippers on my back off and ran in the big building I put the 2 teens in.
Listening I heard chewing then it walked away. I looked towards the 2 teens I threw in the building to see them just staring at me.
