Chapter 8
(Ben POV)
"WE HAVE TO HELP HIM!" My sister screamed at me. "Hailey for once in your life can you just THINK. He just turned into wHAT EVER that was and tried to kill us. And you want to HELP HIM?!!?"
"Bu-" I cut her off before she could finish. "NO BUTS, YOU need to just listen because obviously you can't think." "Actually it's your fault we're in this mess." she said to me. I was near yelling at the top of my lungs with what I was saying.
I walked to her and started to poke at her. "YOUR THE REASON EVERYONE DIED, all you had to do was listen, but nooo I'm my own person. Then you drag me to get fuel and we had to rescue some random boy we found."
"WHICH MAY I MIND YOU is a KAIJU!!!" "Then you go invite another guy and who would've guessed IS A KAIJU" "every single thing that has gone bad was because of you because you never listened we could've been living with everyone but guess what there dead why? Because of you, you wanting to be selfish,
You wanting to be helpful, but no if anything your a burdern."
"You WILL listen and we WILL leave blitz is dangerous so let's go" I finished saying to her before activating the mind link.
I looked towards her and saw she was going to cry again like she always does, but I'm not gonna console her because she knows I'm right.
(3rd POV)
Atlas started up and started walking away from blitz. Who was now almost fully buried. Within a few minutes Atlas was too far to be seen.
(Ben POV)
My vision was completely gone. It was complete darkness all around. No light source or glowing light. I could see my body but I couldn't move it. All of a sudden I was in a 3rd person point of view looking at my body.
It's strange I had 2 long protruding claws where my hands used to be. My feet still looked like regular jaeger feet tho. My body looked more like a kaiju wearing a jaeger than anything. I also had protruding spikes on my back.Something new I also noticed was that I had a long mechanical tail at the back. And 3 hooks on it.

'Why am I so calm about this.' I had just been turned into whatever this thing is and I'm hardly even reacting. 'Could I have really been from the same place as Boy' maybe I was a failed experiment.
Or I could have finished early and they let me go. 'Now that I think about it I act almost identical to Boy aside from being curious.' 'But no I only changed after that orb sunk in to the jaeger'
'Yes that has to be it, the orb is what did it' But do I want to become human again? Would kanjis still attack me? I'm way better at surviving as this than a human right?
While I was talking to myself I noticed I started getting sucked back into my body. As soon as I was completely in, the pain rushed back, not as bad as before but it still hurt.
I was expecting to wake up but found I was still in that space. But it wasn't complete darkness any more and my body glowed blue.
Just then I woke up.
When I opened my eyes I was confused on why it black until I realized I buried myself. I flexed my hands and tail causing the surrounding dirt to collapse in on itself.
Seeing my way out I put my tail behind me and used it to push myself up. I stood up straight before getting a weird feeling. I fell over but my tail caught me and pushed me forward. I hunched forward a bit thinking I would fall but balanced.
My tail was now directly straightened to align with my head. 'So I have to lean forward to balance?' The first thing I did was see how my body worked. I moved my hands flexing them a few times before picking up my feet. I took a few steps and found my tail balanced my body pretty well.
I decided to walk around for a bit to get used to it before breaking into a light jog. Then into a full blown run. I had no idea how fast I was going but based on the dust cloud it was definitely faster than those trucks.
After running for a bit I realized something. 'Do I even have nostrils' I wasn't getting out of breath and didn't really seem to need to breathe. 'Honestly I don't even care anymore' I've literally become a kaiju jaeger hybrid. Yeah a kaiger.
