Hidden Quest

Yulong opened his eyes and stretched after taking off his helmet.

He had been playing the game for five hours, and there was no time alteration between the game and real life.

He opened the door and headed into the kitchen to grab a drink of water when Qianfan exited his room.

"Brother Yulong, are you done playing too?" Qianfan said, taking a seat at the table. "Well, guess what? The Fallen Forge Sect is an official sect! I got to Third Level Mortal Martial!"

An official sect was a sect that was there when the game was released. Organizations sign a contract with Shindo Corp and get their sect integrated into the game's history and system. Players wanting to create their own sect would have to build it by themselves.

But this sect would eventually kill Qianfan in a few months. The Fallen Forge sect was a sect of blacksmiths. Qianfan would eventually become the strongest blacksmith a few months later, before dying due to betrayal. Originally, Yulong had joined Qianfan but managed to escape the sect.

"That is nice. I have reached Ninth Level Mortal Martial." Yulong said.

"Brother Yulong, what realm are you at actually?"

"Ninth Level Mortal Martial."

Yulong stood up.

"I'll be in my room. I recommend leaving that sect, Qianfan. They'll only hinder you." Yulong said, disappearing back into his room. This mysterious and cold nature was odd for Qianfan, who had never seen Yulong like this.

Yulong sat in his room cultivating until it was time for dinner. After dinner, he entered the game again, where it was getting close to evening.

Yulong got up from his bed and left the hotel, before heading deeper into the city, where the houses were more expensive and spaced out. He then came across a store selling weapons.

He entered the store, immediately feeling a disturbance in Qi. Suddenly, he found himself in a black space, different than the outward appearance of a normal weapon shop.

A cloaked figure appeared in front of him, blending in with the darkness.

"Ah... You're the first worthy individual to step into the Dragon Weaponry in centuries. Sadly... they won't let me let you in... You have to take a test like all the others." The man waved his hand, and Yulong was kicked out of the shop.

'What... was that...?' Yulong thought, sweating. The aura of that figure was that of an Immortal, someone at the pinnacle of cultivation.

Yulong tried to enter the shop again. He didn't get transported anywhere this time. 'Huh, the shop is normal now...'

He went to the end of the shop and saw a nice sword that looked durable, he decided to check the description of the sword.

The blade looked like a normal sword blade, only it was a teal color with blue runes running across the length of the sword. It also had a jeweled hilt. On the cover of its case read: |52 Yin|.

'I can take this blade.' Yulong took the blade out of the case, paid, and left the shop still a little dazed.

Unbeknownst to Yulong, a worldwide notification was broadcasted throughout the game.

This would stun the whole gaming community, causing them to go crazy on the forums.

[Welcome to the Discussion Forum! Please read the rules!]

[COOLDUDE]: 🤢🤮 Have you guys heard about these guys Emperor and Ao Bing? They must be hackers

[Pieskirat]: Why are you making assumptions? Perhaps they are trying to speedrun the game.

[Cantjudo]: Maybe they're talented individuals apart of an official sect?

[COOLDUDE]: No, I think those guys are hackers or maybe an Admin tryna mess with everyone...

This was happening in forums all over the world. Even companies were trying to find Emperors and Yulongs identity, as the first people to achieve feats too early in the game.

Meanwhile, Yulong was already 300 miles away from the city, taking momentary breaks before resuming running. This would go on for the next few hours.

"I'm still seeing snakes. When will I meet other beasts?" Yulong said as he continued running across an open plain.

After another hour, Yulong sensed a disturbance.

Boom!

Out of the ground game a huge stone golem that was 12 feet tall.

Yulong sighed. Sadly, the giant wasn't on his level nor would it drop a beast core so he decided to end it in one strike. He pulled out his new sword and imitated a sword strike from his past. Because he couldn't use Qi, it didn't register as a skill, but the upward slash cut through the golem like a knife through butter.

Yulong continued walking until he came across a white fox running in circles.

Yulong wasted no time and slashed the fox. Instead of getting cut, the fox was suddenly behind Yulong, only leaving behind its afterimage. Whirling around, Yulong tried to block, but he was sent flying 50 meters from a headbutt.

'Fast and strong, huh?' Yulong thought, cracking his neck. "Let's play!" He said, launching towards the fox.
