4. How was your day?

The rest of the day went by very quickly and as usual it was time to go home. I exchanged my cell phone number with Bee so that we could communicate . We headed to the courtyard to wait for the arrival of transportation and in a short span of time, a man driving G-wagon SUV yelled out Bee's name.

'' I have to go there's my ride. I will text you later'' she said

''ok, bye'' I waved my hand goodbye.

She then gave me a tight mellow hug and ran inside the car. They drove off. I missed her already.

I was gazing the school building when I sensed a light tap on my shoulder from behind. I swiveled around to face River sheepishly smiling.

''Why are you smiling like that is something wrong'' I asked.

'' What? nothing is wrong, why would it be. I came to fetch you, Mom is by the parking lot." she squirmed

" Ok but you are acting suspicious " I told her and she rolled her eyes at me

We moved from the courtyard to the parking lot and I saw aunt slumped on her Audi vehicle. After everybody hopped in , aunt drove off . Along the way, we made some small talk then aunt took a detour to pass by the supermarket. She came back later with two full paper bags and we finally arrived at the apartment.

I was so exhausted from the trip,instantly I went up to take a shower. The was shower so warm and relaxing, someone didn't want to leave. Soon I joined the family at the dining table and ate aunt famous " spinach vegan pie". Well.... not out of choice since aunt is a vegetarian but she did go out of her way to make it delicious.

Aunt became a vegetarian three years back at a family outing after grandma fiona told her she was gaining weight and that she looked pregnant. Everybody laughed hard that night and following the next few days, dad reported to me that aunt had suddenly turned vegan. We all did not believe her thinking its an act but three years is a long period to keep up such an act.

I respect that she is a vegan but I do not like greens.(Never will) Growing up dad would always complain and tell me stories about how he would bribe me with dessert to eat my vegetables. Lord know it was not easy for me although It was a win-win for both of us.

Other women would always criticise him at the CHILDREN COMMITTEE GROUP (CCG) on how it was not the best strategy to make a child eat vegetables but what did they know about a dad raising two children alone.

Yes, a single father.

I didn't have a mother growing up so they should not judge how dad tried his best to raise us well. I don't know where my so- call birth mother is or what the hell happened to her, just the fact that she left dad for another men.

How crazy is that.

I am not saying it's a crime or sin to not stay with a men she supposedly claimed she loved before however what about the surroundings attached to that men ( your kids).

Thinking about it just stimulates anger, that is why I vowed to not let anybody slave and torment me around for whatever reason.

I finished eating dinner and helped aunt wash the dishes. River said she was tired to help us so she went to sleep. Lazy ass.

Aunt started humming an easygoing song then glanced at me while I was packing the cups.

'' So, how was your day?'' she asked

'' Eventful, made a new friend and b the way the school is ''Gorgeous''. I must say I am not disappointed" I am not answered dramatically

she pretended to gasped then faced my way

'' Oh is it now''.

I giggled.

'' Build a good reputation for yourself there sweetie" she sighed " and make me proud. It's been long since i saw you.. properly though you have grown into a fine young teen.''

'' Do not worry aunt, I will exceed your expectations '' I smiled. ( hopefully everything will go great. I think)

We finished cleaning the kitchen and aunt kissed me goodnight. I faced the ceiling in my bedroom on the bed and wondered how life would have been like if I had continued my high-school life in Texas.

I was so deep in my thoughts, that i didn't notice the chiming notification ringtone on my cellphone phone under my pillow . It was Bee. I wonder.

Bee/B: HI, sorry to message late .Should I wait for you in the morning by the courtyard

Bee/B: Night

'' I have a friend, finally. How better can things get any better " I thought to myself and went to sleep.

The next day, the sun was scorching through my window . I was feeling very sleepy that i didn't want to wake up . Whilst deciding whether or not I should sleep in, instantaneously River pulled the blankets of by bed and I flew of my bed to the floor.

'' what the hell'' I cried out.

'' Wakey wakey... its your second day at school and we do not want baby Zoey to be late. Now wake up!! ''she pouted dramatically

'' you evil witch, Damn you'' I yelled.

"LANGUAGE" aunt yelled back.

Another school day, what could happen. I smiled.
