Chapter 3: Unknown hatred

It barely took a minute for them to arrive at our spot. We stood there and waited for them to gather as we communicated with each other. Our plan, for now, was to wait and see what they would do then act accordingly. The ones that showed up were Superman, Wonder Woman, and Martian Manhunter. Superman stood in the middle of his group with, Wonder Woman to his right and Martian Manhunter to his left. I was in the middle of our group, Kory to my right and Laura to my left.

Kory wanted to go and kiss Superman to gain their language, but I telepathically told her to stop. After a minute of stare-off, Martian Manhunter presented himself and offered to translate through telepathy. We accepted as I had told them that my symbiotes would protect their mind from mind control or reading. After the telepathic translation was established, Superman was the first to speak.

Superman: Hello, I am known as Superman here. You have landed on the planet Earth. Could you tell us the reason for your arrival?

Acnologia: You have some questions we can answer, and we have some questions you can answers. Let's exchange question for questions.

The three leaguers looked at each other before Superman nodded. They definitely had a mental conversation.

Wonder Woman: What is your first question?

Acnologia pointed at Superman's house crest.

Acnologia: What does that symbol mean?

Superman looked surprised but still respond to Acnologia's question with a smile.

Superman: Well, this is the house of El's crest. It symbolizes hope.

Acnologia: House of El… That means you are a Kryptonian. I see some survived their planet's explosion…Hmm.

Wonder Woman: We answered your question. Now it is our turn. Who are you?

We looked at each other. We agreed that I should answer as Kory was too much of a social butterfly while Laura just did not want to do it.

Acnologia: We have yet to name our group but if a description is needed then we are ex-lab rats. Now my second question, are you the only survivor of Krypton?

Once Superman said that we were on Earth, Laura told us that she knew this place. This confirmed my suspicion that she was the Laura from Marvel. Does that mean she transmigrated or reincarnated like me? I have a few questions for her, but I will let her tell us when she is ready.

They all seemed to view us differently. Superman took some time to answer my question.

Superman: Y-yes, I am, why?

Acnologia: Is that your third question?

Before Superman could respond, Martian Manhunter interrupted him by putting his hand on Superman's shoulder.

Martian Manhunter: No, it is not. Our third question is whether the reason for your arrival on Earth was to seek refuge or not.

Acnologia: No, we did not come here to seek refuge…

This made them tense.

Acnologia:… since we did not know where we were going at all. We just took escape in a random direction after we exterminated those sadistic scientists.

They looked concerned after learning the fate of those bastards. Wonder Woman seemed to be the least concerned followed by Martian Manhunter. Superman on the other hand was very concerned. I would have attacked him on sight if not for the promise that Kory and I made. She would stop trying to get her sister's attention/love while I would stop my obsession to eliminate any Kryptonian if I ever see one.

Superman: Y-you killed all of them?

Acnologia: HAHAHAHAHAHA!

My laughter confused both sides.

Acnologia: HAHAHAHAHA! I can't believe it. A Kryptonian is about to lecture me about killing people, one from the fucking House of El at that. I have seen it all now. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Martian Manhunter: You seem to have some animosity against Kryptonian. May we know why?

Acnologia: As it concerns my survival, I will refuse but if the smartass of the House of El figures it out, I will gladly confirm it. I believe it is now my turn, do you know where we can get some decent food around here?

They looked at each other while Kory was mentally talking to Laura to calm her nerve. She wanted to talk to the league. Laura was on what we both call Kory duty; at any other time, it was more of a reward as her cheerful personality was quite healthy for us.

~3rd POV~

Diana: "J'onn, anything?"

J'onn: "Nothing. It seems like they are all shielded, they have a psychic link. I can sense that the two behind him are having a conversation, but it does not seem to have anything to do with us. It feels like a normal conversation. Clark, I can not read anything from the one in the middle. The only thing I can pick up is his pure hatred for you though he does not seem to be hiding it."

Clark: "I can clearly see that but since you can't read his thought, we can't know the reason for his hate."

Acnologia: As it concerns my survival, I will refuse but if the smartass of the House of El figures it out, I will gladly confirm it. I believe it is now my turn, do you know where we can get some decent food around here?

Diana: "What do we answer? They are clearly not ready to interact with civilians but if we are to act too strictly, they might go on the defensive. They just escape a traumatic experience."

Clark: "I know but I think whatever we say it should either be you or J'onn talking as I feel like any more words from me, and a fight will break out."

J'onn: "We can direct them to a place where other leaguers would be after evacuating civilians."

Diana: "That could work."

Clark: "I'm good with that."

As Martian Manhunter was about to answer, Acnologia spoke first.

Acnologia: Feels like you guys are planning on leading us into a trap. You know what, we will find our way here. *Snap*

The next moment, all three newcomers were gone.

Superman: W-Where did they go? I can't hear them.

Martian Manhunter: I also can not feel their psychic link, anywhere.

Shortly after, a few more Leaguers came to where Superman, Wonder Woman, and Martian Manhunter were at. The ones that came were Batman, Green Lantern, and The Flash. Batman walked out of Hal Jordan's will construct and looked right and left before speaking.

Batman: What happened?

Superman chuckled nervously before telling his old friend what they encountered. When he finished, the dark knight was in deep thought. The only thing they had going to identify the three individuals' species was their appearance. It might be easier for one of them, but the two others were similar in human appearance.

Batman: Martian Manhunter, send a telepathic image to green lantern about the looks of the three individuals. Green Lantern will use it as a reference to find what species there are from.

The two heroes followed the dark knight's instructions to the letter. Hal was not able to find anything conclusive on Laura and Acnologia but he was able to find Koriand'r's species.

Green Lantern: Okay, Bats. I did not manage to find anything conclusive on two of them, but I managed to do it for the red-haired girl.

Batman: What did you find?

Green Lantern: there is a 96.574% probability of her being a Tamaranean. They are a race of warriors but according to the records of the Lantern Corp, a diplomacy is a viable option when dealing with a member of their race though it depends on their personality.

Batman: I see. From what Martian Manhunter picked up from her she seems to be… amical. Do you have anything on the one with blue hair? He seems to be the leader of the three.

Green Lantern: Sorry Bats, I got nothing.

Batman: Hmm. Green Lantern see if there are any species that would have a grudge against Kryptonian! Especially the House of El.

There was a brief silence before Superman tried to speak only for Batman to cut him off.

Superman: Wait a minute-

Batman: His hatred for Kryptonian is our only lead for now. We must follow it.

Batman gave a look to Green Lantern, who nodded before asking the Green Lantern's ring. Superman looked down while Wonder Woman patted his shoulder.

After ten minutes of search, the ring gave Hal an answer.

Green Lantern: Hmm. This is weird.

Batman: What?

Green Lantern: There are one species that would hate Kryptonian and furthermore hate the House El. As it is a house of science, they rarely received any animosity directed at Krypton, usually, they were directed at the House of Zod. The weird part is that there is a small percentage of chance for him to be of this species. The probability is infinitely close to being zero.

Batman: Why is that?

Green Lantern: Well, it is because of the reason they would hate Krypton. It is also the reason why… the Green Lantern Corp refused to help during Krypton's destruction.

Green Lantern looked at Superman with a conflicted look. He was going around the subject.

Superman: you are going around the reason, you can tell us. I need to know why that species would hate Krypton and their link to Krypton's destruction.

The other leaguers looked at Superman, he seemed angry as he was starting to think that species prevent the survival of his race. Hal saw this, he took a deep breath and spoke.

Green Lantern: It is because, centuries ago Krypton, especially the House of El and Zod, used that species' DNA to create an ultimate secret weapon which they later tested on that said species. They exterminated that species. The guardian of Oa had warned Krypton against such violent acts as a result they were banned from the planet under their protection as Krypton had committed genocide against a peaceful primitive race.

This hit Superman hard. He had thought that Krypton was the victim of that species' grudge, but it turned out that Krypton was never the victim but the criminal of the story. Now he understood why the blue-haired boy hated him. His House was half the source of his race's extinction.

While everyone was shocked by this information, Batman focused on the details of the news.

Batman: If Krypton exterminated the species, how did the boy survive? He does not look older than twenty, but Krypton was destroyed more than three decades ago.

Green Lantern: It is because that species, known as the Draconian, had the ability to adapt to everything. The Guardian of Oa called it infinite evolution. The ring says that it is likely that one survivor escapes the… genocide. It is highly that it was a… *sigh* pregnant woman.

This brought Superman to a new level of guilt.

Batman: Why is it highly likely?

Green Lantern: It is because they have a special ability to prolong their pregnancy for as long as they want at the cost of the mother's life, the bonus of prolonging the pregnancy is that the woman stops aging. According to the record, a child born like that is said to inherit all the knowledge of the mother as well as have a bigger potential depending on the time spent in the womb.

Superman: I'm going to find-

Batman: Contact the rest of the league, and inform them that those three especially the potential Draconian is to be found as soon as possible with a threat level of the highest order.

Superman: Wait Br- Batman! We can't treat them like that when they have done nothing.

The rest of the leaguers seemed to be of the same opinion.

Batman: Nothing yet and you are all overlooking something.

Superman: What?

Batman: The secret weapon the Kryptonian created out of the DNA of the Draconian. Green Lantern said that Draconian can adapt to everything. Does that not sound familiar? Something we faced just recently and unlike the recent one, the boy seems to be able to use his head.

It took a moment for all of them to connect the dots. They said the first name that came to their mind at the same time with both shock and horror.
