Kenjutsu

The next day Amatsu woke up and had his breakfast with Mito and Kushina. Afterwards Kushina ran off to academy and Amatsu practiced some fuinjutsu in his room. He had some ideas he wanted to complete sooner rather than later, to help him complete his future plans.

An hour later Mito came to get him as it was time to meet with Sakumo for kenjutsu training. "Amatsu dear, it is time to go meet with Sakumo for your training."

"Ok Granny" replied Amatsu and he got ready to leave.

They made their way over to the Hatake residence, where he would be doing his training. Along the way they were greeted as usual by the other villagers they passed.

When they arrived Mito said her goodbyes and left Amatsu with Sakumo.

"We will head out in the backyard to do some exercises." Sakumo told him as he lead the way to the back. When they arrived he went over to a bench and grabbed a tanto and handed it to Amatsu.

"Here this tanto is a gift from me for you learning the kenjutsu from me." he informed Amatsu.

Amatsu looked at the blade and noticed there is a difference in the weight compared to his soul weapon tanto blade. 'This blade is a little heavier, I bet it is because this is a real blade while the other is basically apart of my soul.' He thought to himself.

Sakumo began talking about kenjutsu "Kenjutsu if you do not already know is the art of swordsmanship. Kenjutsu is one of the types of bukijutsu, which is the art of weapon techniques that ninjas use. In the future you will learn more about those other types of weapons. My kenjutsu focuses on the use of a tanto blade. We will start with the basics to see how you do with it. If we can get you to the advanced level you will be able to infuse chakra into your blade as well which will give you an advantage over others using just regular kenjutsu. Any questions?" He paused to see if the little boy had any questions, since usually people have questions when information is just thrown at them like that.

Amatsu shook his head and said "No I may in the future, but not now."

Sakumo nodded his head "Good! We will start with just some practice swings, so watch me then you will try."

He then proceeded to draw his blade and swing it in different motions. He with one hand down, then he swung it left and then right, then he followed up with turning the blade upside down and swung up. His movements were flawless, quick, and fluid. Amatsu could tell he was slowing the motions down so he could see them, even if he did not need to have it slowed down due to his abilities.

He was surprised that it was only C Rank, but figured it must be due to only seeing the basics down and not the actual combat ability.

Sakumo looked at him and gave him a nod "Now you try it. Remember it does not need to be perfect. As long as you get the general motions down you can practice anytime. You are still very young and would not normally be learning something like this for a few years at the earliest."

Amatsu nodded and then proceeded. He swiftly swung the blade, as if he had done it thousands of times. He sharply swung downwards, then when the motion got to the ideal point, he turned his blade and swung right, then again to the left. After the swing the the left, he turned the blade upside down and swung up in a sharp manner. After he finished the upward motion, he smoothly continued bringing the blade back into the sheath.

Sakumo just stared at him with a look of utter shock. He had never seen anyone complete the motions to that level of perfection after just seeing it once. He is even sure the Uchiha would not be able execute it to a higher level of perfection than what they had seen like this boy did.

Sakumo thought for a moment to himself 'Well looks like Lady Mito was right, it won't take him long to learn everything from me. I am going to have to train harder so I can at least keep some dignity as a teacher.' Looking at Amatsu he smiled and said "Well, that was truly unexpected. I expected you to be able to learn fast with all the praise from Lady Mito, but I thought it was still going to be a little difficult for you. Guess I was wrong. We will now work on how to move your body during combat."

Sakumo and Amatsu continued through the different stances that will help him in different situations on the battlefield.

Underground Root Base

Danzo is sitting in a dimly lit room behind a desk with scrolls and papers all over. The room is filled with shelves holding various scrolls. In front of him is several of his Root Anbu kneeling to him.

"Lord Danzo, this morning Mito Uzumaki took the boy Amatsu over to Sakumo Hatake's residence. We were unable to get too close, but from what we can tell is he started training in kenjutsu today with him."

Danzo looked calm on the outside, but on the inside he was livid. Now, not only does that bastard of a child have the backing of the Uzumaki Clan, but also now Sakumo Hatake who is a constant thorn in his side on his quest to become Hokage. 'Dammit even Hiruzen, the incompetent fool is forbidding me from taking the boy. He never goes against me and now whenever that boy is around everybody changes! Even I have been feeling off every time the boy is around!' As he cursed Amatsu in his head, he remained calm and collected on the outside.

"Continue to monitor the boy. Should the opportunity arise grab him. Move into the next phases in the various villages to instigate tension further. Send a team to leak the information on the clans allied with Konoha, we need to weaken them." Danzo ordered.

"Yes!" shouted the several anbu present, then they flickered out of the room.

Hatake Residence

Later in the afternoon Mito came to pick up Amatsu from his kenjutsu training. She was glad to hear that he did exceptionally well.

"While he basically learned everything about my style, including the how to use chakra on the blade, I would like to keep training with him for a couple of weeks. It will help me get better and further solidify his foundation." Sakumo explained.

"That will not be an issue. I have already taught him everything I know as well, so he is free for the moment. After your training is complete he will be going to learn from Lord Third as well." informed Mito.

Sakumo was surprised to hear that Lord Third was going to take in another disciple on top of his other three, but then again Amatsu is a different kind of case and probably would not need much to succeed. From what he could see as long as Amatsu had seen something he would be able to execute it. He has not found something he couldn't do yet.

After they bid farewell for the evening, Mito and Amatsu went back home to get ready for dinner with Kushina.
