This dude is killing me here!

The voices of the bandits rose up more and more, causing the knights and the rest of the group to be thrown into a momentary daze. The thugs shouted and cursed the nobles and their families, all demanding for the nobleman that they had 'hunted' to be killed.

These all happened in the snap of two minutes, or maybe less than that.

"Hahaha!"

The man, who seemed to be the boss of the thugs, let out a loud chuckle before he moved up his sword. He then took a large step forward, bent his wrist, and swung the sword in his hand from side to side aiming at Alaric's throat.

As for Alaric, he was still frozen in place, staring at the approaching blade motionlessly. He sat there and watched how the blade got closer and closer to his throat so much that it was about to cut his throat.

Just when he thought he would sense the coldness of the blade at any moment, a sudden force pulled on his clothe and dragged him backward. The man was yanked back as the sword slashed nothing but air and passed through his eyes.

"Ah!?"

"Shit!"

I sent more strength to my arm and pulled on the young master's collar once again. I'm sure his butt hurt a lot when he was pulled back like this while sitting on the ground, but it's a small sacrifice done in order to save his life, I'm certain he'll understand.

"Oh?"

The boss of the bandits once again raised an eyebrow when he saw that his sword missed its target and shot a glance at Alaric, before raising his head to look at me. He examined my cloth once before opening his mouth, his voice full of disgust and disdain.

"A servant, huh?! You save him despite him being the one who stole your freedom?"

"...."

I glanced once at Alaric, who also raised his head to look up at me. We both had the same kind of expression on our faces, a stupid found one. The man who said those words to me through gritted teeth raised his sword once again and pointed it at my face. There was no need to see his face or hear his thoughts to understand how much he hated nobles and the ones helping them, and it seemed that I just made myself his enemy by saving Alaric.

"Disgusting!"

Without giving me the chance to respond to him, the man swung his sword once again with a lot more strength and speed than when he wanted to kill Alaric. In such a situation, I could only do one thing, and that was to dodge the attack.

Thus just when the sword cut a few strands of my hard and was about to slice my neck off, I added force to my feet and threw myself backward, and lowered my head at the same time.

The sword once again sliced the air just above my head.

Thud

As a result of moving my body abruptly and without a proper posture, I too fell to the ground just beside the young master.

"Haha!"

As soon as I heard the man's chuckle, I felt a sudden air pressure, and in the next second, a black boot came into my view before slamming into my chest with tremendous force.

"Gah-"

A repressed gasp left my mouth. My body bouched off due to the impact and rolled on the ground a few times. By the time I stopped rolling, I saw the same black boots in front of my face once again.

"Cough cough."

'You damn wild beast! What the hell was that? You kicked me in the chest!'

I wanted to shout those words out loud, but I couldn't even probably breathe at the moment so I had to give up on that thought. A silver light was glinting not too far away from my head. I could say without any word that the boos were about to stab me with his sword.

'Seriously? I'm going to die just like this? By a thug? Without finding out about the reason behind all the strange stuff that happened in this round? Isn't it too silly for me to die this way?'

As all thoughts passed through my head, I reached out my hand and pressed it down to the ground, raising my upper body. The sword was probably moving down to stab me and with this, I was making it easier for the boss of the bandits to slice my body in the others' eyes.

However, just before the sword could stab me, I pushed myself back a little bit using my hand as a support. I made a complete flip on the ground and a shining blade thurst to the soil beside my left ear.

At the same time, I bent my right knee before kicking the man on the back of his leg. My weak and fragile leg obviously didn't have enough strength to do much damage to the bulky man, yet it managed to divert his attention and make him lose his balance a little bit. While he leaned a little bit forward due to the smack on his leg, I flipped on the ground once again and sat down in a ready-to-run position.

'What the hell are all those knights doing? This bastard is killing me! Protect your young master at least!'

Once I turned my gaze towards the knights and Liam in the distance, I found them all engaged in fierce battles with the other bandits. It looked like the subordinates of the man didn't want anyone to interfere with his actions.

'Hoh! So be it!'

The boss of the bandits had already pulled his sword out of the ground and was now glowering at me. I could hear the sound of teeth grinding and his glare on me felt like a wild beast's.

'I guess he won't go easy on me anymore...'

Just as that thought passed through my head, the man tightened his grip on his sword and kicked the ground, rushing at me. His speed wasn't that high, compared to the knights in the mansion, and even Liam, the boss was much weaker.

But not for me! I'm a fucking servant! Until this point in time, I've never exercised properly and haven't even eaten enough food for any muscles to develop in my body. Even these few flips I've done just now are making my body ache all over. For me, this man was moving too fast to resist. Even if I knew how to fight, I am no match to him when I have not a single muscle on me!

Instead of his sword, the man raised his other free hand towards me as if to grip my throat. Seeing that, I hurriedly moved my hand to the ground, rubbing the surface of the soil in an attempt to find a stone to throw at the man. It wouldn't do much damage but it could distract him at least.

My hand hit something tough at that moment. Something that had a smooth, but hard surface. It had a square-like shape and felt more like a cube.

'A book!?'

It was the book that Alaric dropped from his hand. Without wasting any time, I turned my body slightly to the left, grabbed the book with my right hand, and swung my arm holding the book in a horizontal way.
