Chapter 12

Arriving in front of Mentari's house, Senja frowned.

For some reason, Senja felt like he had seen Mentari's house before. He thought hard, but still couldn't remember when he'd ever been to a house that was quite luxurious and looked comfortable and beautiful. The guy then turned around and stared at the back seat. Mentari was still asleep on Vivi's shoulder.

"The house looks empty," said Senja. He glanced at Mentari briefly, then looked back at Vivi. "Don't any other families live in this house?"

Vivi shook her head sadly. "As you heard earlier, Mentari's mother has passed away. Her father must be working and they just live alone in this house, together with two servants and a driver who often picks up her father."

When Senja saw Vivi was about to wake Mentari, Senja immediately stopped her. The guy smiled faintly and shook his head. From his place, Awan saw the incident through the rearview mirror.

"You don't have to wake her up. Let me just carry Mentari into the house. Just a moment." Senja unbuckled his seatbelt and got off first. Then, he opened the back door and carried Mentari's body carefully so that Mentari wouldn't wake up. Meanwhile, Awan turned off the car engine and got off, as did Vivi.

Awan and Vivi had stopped moving after getting out of the car because they both got out from the same side. Awan smiled, gently as usual, but Vivi snorted in return and hurriedly followed Senja who had already stepped into Mentari's house while carrying her best friend.

"If it's continue like this, maybe I will kidnapped that girl, and then interrogated her," Awan grumbled. He snorted and followed the three people in front of him while putting his hands in his pants pockets.

Vivi pressed Mentari's doorbell several times and waited for the door to be opened from the inside. She straightened Mentari's hair and looked worriedly at her best friend who was still sleeping in Senja's arms.

"Sir," Vivi called worriedly. "Sir, Mentari is really sleeping, isn't she? She didn't faint, did she?"

Hearing that, Senja blinked and started to panic in his place. "Don't scare me, please."

"Because she hasn't moved since then, Sir. She doesn't wake up, even though her body must be moving a lot because she is being carried by you who is walking." Vivi immediately stroked Mentari's cheeks. "Tar? Mentari? Mentari!"

Fortunately, Mentari moved slowly. The girl mumbled softly and fell silent again. This immediately made Vivi and Senja look at each other, then heaved a sigh of relief. Grateful because Mentari was only asleep and not fainted. Not long after, Mentari's door opened and Mentari's maid appeared. The woman who was quite old was surprised when she saw her employer's daughter had to be carried.

"Oh Lord! Miss Mentari?! What happened?" she asked in a panicked tone. She hurriedly opened the door as wide as she could and let them all inside. Then, Senja laid Mentari on the sofa and sat on the other sofa along with Vivi and Awan.

"Annie, Mentari is just sleeping. She's okay," Vivi said soothingly. "How about Annie prepares a drink for them? This is my teacher, and this one is just a stranger who happens to be on duty as a driver."

"Hey," Awan grumbled, preparing to protest. However, Senja immediately grabbed Awan's arm and glared at his best friend. Threatening through his eyes not to scold his student.

The three of them heard a low moaning sound. When they turned around, Mentari had already woken up. She sat and looked at Senja, Vivi and Awan. Then, Mentari realized that she was already at home. The girl was no longer crying, although her face and gaze still looked sad.

"Oh, we're home already, huh?" she asked in a confused tone. The girl smiled faintly and took a deep breath. "Sorry for making you guys worried. Just a moment, let me make you a drink."

When Mentari was about to stand up, the girl felt very dizzy. Everything seems to be spinning. Her body was about to fall, and Senja immediately got up from the sofa to catch her small body. He helped Mentari to sit back down very carefully.

"Don't move too much. Your maid has made drinks for me, Vivi and Awan. You better rest now," said Senja in a low tone. He gently stroked her head, then smiled. Mentari who saw his behavior, could not say anything. She doesn't have any energies. What was on her mind was that the necklace her late mother had given her was stolen. "How are you feeling now?"

"It's like my world is falling apart, Sir," replied Mentari. The girl laughed softly, a forced laugh. She lowered her head and rubbed her face with both hands. "How can I lose my mother's necklace? I'm really not good at taking care of the things my mother gave me."

"Don't blame yourself, Mentari," said Senja. He unconsciously gripped the Mentari's cold hand tightly. "It's only natural that you put your necklace in your backpack. You guys finished gym class in the morning, right? I'm sure you must have put your necklace in your backpack for fear of losing it. And you forgot to wear the necklace again."

"It's true what Mr. Senja said, Tari," added Vivi with a smile. "Don't worry, Mr. Senja has promised to find the thief and find the necklace."

"If it's necessary, I will also help Senja to catch the thief. I can pretend to be an intern at your school and help with the investigation." Awan spoke too. He also smiled at Mentari and then looked at Senja. "Can you make me an intern at your school, Sen?"

Senja snorted and made no comment. However, the guy thought there would be advantages if he could be helped by Awan. Well, for that matter, Senja can think about it later. What is clear, he must calm Mentari first.

Their conversation was interrupted when Mentari's housekeeper came with four glasses of fresh drink. She asked about Mentari's condition and was grateful that Mentari was fine. Then, the woman left because she still had work to do.

Mentari's cell phone suddenly rang, making the girl take her cell phone from the backpack. She paused for a moment, then took a deep breath. Then, Mentari looked at Senja and said, "Sir, I want to pick up the phone."

"So?" asked Senja in a confused tone. In his place, Awan raised an eyebrow and smiled faintly, as did Vivi.

"My hand, sir. Could you please let go my hand for a moment?"

It was only then that Senja realized that he had been holding Mentari's hand for a long time. The guy immediately withdrew his hand and cleared his throat. He glanced at Mentari who stood up from the sofa and walked away.

"Hello? Samudra? It's rare for you to call me at this hour. You're at school, right?"

Hearing Mentari said a boy's name, Senja subconsciously looked directly at Mentari. Then, he could see Mentari smiling and Senja frowning. Senja looked at Vivi who was enjoying her drink.

"Vi, did you hear Mentari mention the name Samudra? Who is Samudra?"

"Hm? Ah. Samudra is Mentari's childhood friend."

Senja is silent. He glanced back at Mentari who was now laughing a little. And then, Senja felt annoyed, for some reason.
