Volume 2 Chapter 27: Sultan's Anger and Deceit

Topkapi Palace, Constantinople, Ottoman Empire

"HOW INCOMPETENT YOU BASTARDS ARE! YOU CAN'T EVEN DEFEAT THAT TINY DOT IN THE MAP! It's been weeks you and your men invaded, and you have barely advance into Montenegro!"

Sultan Abdul Mehmed V is cursing his generals loudly at the throne room, all are lowering their heads of the failure they had in the Montenegrin Campaign. He recalls most of his generals back to the capital for an explanation of their failure to defeat the Principality of Montenegro even weeks have already passed.

The generals are afraid as the sultan has never been this furious at them, and it is not only the sultan who is pissed. The civilian officials and bureaucrats at the court can only stand helplessly at the sides, they have no real power and voice here and this might be a good turn of events for them as it is the military that is the one who is at fault, the one lording on them.
