This Can't Be Real

I can see a light flicker from behind me as if it's a single lightbulb illuminating the room. I slowly start to turn around when I hear clapping rapidly coming from behind me, I almost jumped out of my shoes. I turn around and see Brittany standing behind me.

"There you are, I've been looking everywhere for you buddy."

Her face was droopy and it was as if someone was poorly mimicking her voice. Her hand flops up as if to give me a wave but quickly plops down.

Brittany?"

A loud cackling fills the room, a demonic face appears behind Brittany with a grin from ear to ear. It had no eyes or nose. The skin looked as if it was left in an oven for too long. Suddenly, the light that was illuminating the room flickered out and the room became pitch black.

I can feel the icy breath of something I. Front of me breathing on my face, I can feel an icy cold grip wrap around my arm and start pulling me. I fight back but whatever it is that has me is stronger. I can feel a burning sensation coming from where my arm is being grabbed. It's as if my arm is being set on top of an open fire.

"What's going on?!"

I forcefully pull my arm away as I fall backward hitting my head on the door behind me. I start to crawl backward, I try my best to get up and run away but whatever is in the darkness grabs my legs, making me fall face first into the floor.

"Let go of me! Help!"

I thought if I scream for help someone would come and help me, that was a dumb idea. I can hear footsteps sprinting towards me, laughing coming from all around me. I start to panic, my chest starts to constrict, my vision gets blurry, and my head is pounding and flooding with thoughts. Everything quickly goes blank, I pass out from the excitement.

I wake up on the floor in a dimly lit room. There is nothing nothing in the room except a piece of paper that's laying on top of my chest. There are no windows or doors. I grab the paper and look at it, I flip it over but there is no writing on either side of it.

"Where am I? How did I get here?"

I stand up looking around me. I crumble the piece of paper and throw it away from me. I walk to all 4 walls and feel my hand around every inch of it to maybe find a secret door or something.

"There has to be a way out, I mean, I had to have gotten in somehow."

I hear clapping coming from inside the room. The clapping got louder and heavier with every clap. It starts going faster and faster, it starts to sound as if it's right over my shoulder. My ears start to hurt from the clapping. I lay down on the floor, covering my ears worth my hands, and curl into a ball. I start to scream, trying to scream louder than the claps. The claps start to slow down in an eerily way, slowing down but getting heavier. The room starts to shake from the claps. Just then complete silence, no more clapping.

"I… I have to get out of here," my voice is shaken, I take a deep breath trying to clear my head. I look around and see a door appear out of nowhere. I walk over to the door and fling it open. On the other side is a dining area, a table full of food, well lit, and only 2 chairs. It looked fancy as if it was for a special occasion. I walk over to the table and look around, there is nothing else in the room except me and the table. I take a seat at the far end where I first came out the door. Seconds later, a door opens from the wall, puzzlers I continue to stare inside of the door. A silhouette of a woman starts to appear in the light.

"BRITTANY!" I yell as loud as I could at the moment. My voice cracked from the sudden tone in my voice.

"Jason?" She walks closer into the light and Se notices me standing from my chair. "Jason!"

We run up to each other and give one another a tight hug. We don't let go for about a minute.

"I've been looking everywhere for you!"

Brittany holds me tighter, she grabs my face and smushes my cheeks.

"I don't know what's going on, I don't want to do this anymore, I need you, stay with me!"

Just then an unseen force pulls Brittany, I hold onto her hands tight not letting her go. Whatever is pulling her is so strong it starts to pull me along with Brittany. I can feel my feet starting to lift off the floor.

"Jason, please don't let go, please don't. I'm scared, I need you!"

Just as soon as she finishes a force grabs me and starts pulling me away from Brittany. I can feel the hands gripping my ankles, pulling me as if it's trying to tear my legs off. We hold onto each other's needles with all our strength but we lose grip and she flies into the door she came in, the door slamming shut. My body I flung against a walk as everything turns back to pitch black.

"No, no, no! Brittany!"

I start to cry, a stream of tears falling down my face.

"What is happening? Why is this happening to me?"

I can feel the room start to turn. It feels as if the room completely flipped itself. I don't move, I just sit in the corner of the room where I was thrown.

"Is this not fun to you?"

A voice appears from thin air, It was so clear it was as if it was sitting right next to me.

"This is quite entertaining to me."

"Who are you? King Bael?"

"That doesn't matter at the moment, the only thing you should be worried about is finding a way out of here, you chose to play a game with Lord Bael, now finish it."

The voice fades, the sound of an empty room never felt so lonely before. I start to stand up, I can barely see in front of me so I used the wall as a crutch. I feel the sound the walls for a door. I finally find it and grab the doorknob and twist it open, I pull it but it won't budge. The doors locked.

"Shit, you have got to be kidding me!"

I sit there for a few minutes before I attempt to open the door again. This time I decided to push instead of pull. The door opened right away.

"Why did it take me so long to figure that out, it's a 50/50 chance."

I walk out into a poorly lit hallway. I can't make out much but from what I can see, there are multiple doors spread down the hall. There were scratching sounds coming from the far end. I started walking down the hall trying every door to see if they would open.

"What's the point of all these doors if they don't even open?"

The scratching sound gets louder as I start to near the end. I start to hear crying coming from a girl. I curiously but cautiously start walking faster, the crying sounded like Brittany!

I start to see a faint silhouette of someone sitting on the floor looking at the wall. The scratching sound got louder and the crying was clearer. I was certain that the crying was Brittany. Am I getting close? Did the voice help me find her? Am I close to finishing this nightmare?

As I reach the end I stop moving, standing a few feet behind this thing that was crying. It wasn't Brittany, but it didn't look like a creature. This thing looked human, and looked to be a child. My gut was telling me I shouldn't go near this person but I couldn't leave a child alone.

"Hey, are you okay?"

I reach out my hand and touch them on the shoulder. The scratching stopped and so did the crying. The figure sat up straight still staring at the wall. Nothing could have prepared me for what happened. They turned slowly revealing that it was a little girl, but as they continued to turn the other half of her face was skeleton.

"Hey mister, do you want to play with me?"

I froze once she looked upon me. I couldn't breathe nor speak, it was as if something was choking me. My body filled with fear as she started to stand up.

"Do you want to play tag with me? I'll be it, so you can hide, but if I find you, you die."
