The fire had been put out and leaving the burnt carriage behind, the rest had left the jungle to head towards the Kingdom of blumund.
Elmesia gave Lucas a hood and helped him hide himself when she reached the caravan. She then made him sit in her own carriage and nobody really had any problems with an additional member and nobody complained about it either.
Lucas and Elmesia did not talk while they were together in the same carriage. They just sat there silently together with an additional stranger in the same carriage.
A while later, Elmesia felt irked by the random stranger in the carriage and so she kicked him out.
It was only Lucas and her in the carriage for the rest of the journey. She talked to him from time to time but his indifferent responses made her feel bored and so she stayed quiet for the rest of the journey as well.
The caravan passed through many check posts and border security. But everything was handled well by the servants present outside and Lucas had no problem passing through. He also didn't need to pay a single coin and everything was covered by Elmesia herself.
Lucas did not know what was going on inside Elmesia's head that was making her be so nice to him, but since it wasn't a bad thing, he didn't dwell on it and continued to do what he was doing, that is, keep quiet.
The caravan stopped for breaks many times during their journey. Some had to go to the toilet, some wanted to eat food, sometimes the horses were made to rest and fed and while at some time, dirt was cleared off of the wheels of the carriages.
Lucas, who estimated that he'll reach there after just one full day by gliding at super fast speed, was totally wrong as he had calculated the distance entirely incorrectly.
Lucas thought that from his village to the border of the Kingdom of blumund would be roughly 1,000 km but he was very wrong.
While in the carriage, he made the system copy the area he had been through. This was done to ensure that he had a detailed map of the world later when needed. The system may not help him level up, but it did have tools to help him. It was kind of like a smartphone or computer from Earth.
The system copied an area of ten meters radius with Lucas as center. Wherever Lucas went, the ten meter radius area around him would be successfully copied into the system. This helped him measure the distance between his village and the border of the Kingdom of blumund.
The caravan successfully passed through the border security of the Kingdom of blumund after five days and five nights. They reached there on the sixth day and Lucas only then realized that the distance was far greater than 1,000 km.
The distance when Lucas checked in the system showed it to be roughly 1,800 km from his village and that meant that the carriage was covering roughly 300 to 500 kilometres in a day. This meant that the carriage only covered roughly 20 kilometres in an hour and was thus very slow.
Lucas slightly regretted joining the caravan. Had he been on his own, he would've reached this place in two days. He was averaging 100 kilometres per hour by gliding through air. He could've very well shortened the time.
But what was done was done. Now he had to move towards the Cave of Imprisonment to look for the Storm Dragon and this would probably take him another day as he was currently at the outskirts of blumund.
The caravan stopped near a small village in the outskirts of the Kingdom of blumund and Lucas obviously knew about it and was about to get off, when Elmesia said:
"We've reached. Where will you be going from here on?"
Lucas stopped himself from getting off and said to her in a neutral tone, "Jura Forest."
He knew he had to say the truth or she would keep pestering him and waste his time.
"Why are you going there?" Elmesia asked with interest.
"To kill monsters." Lucas said flatly.
"Why would you kill monsters?" Elmesia asked again.
Lucas didn't bother to reply anymore and got off the carriage.
"Hey! Hey! Don't ignore me and go without answering!" Elmesia ran behind Lucas.
The two walked away from the caravan and Elmesia kept following Lucas and asked him questions, to which he simply ignored her.
Lucas reached the small village where the caravan had stopped near and he was about to ask a random person where the Jura Forest was when he realized something and stopped in his tracks.
Elmesia who was just behind Lucas stopped as well and asked him, "why did you stop?"
Lucas turned around and looked at her. He then said, "because you're following me. Leave me alone."
Elmesia shook her head and said, "answer my questions first and then I'll leave you alone."
Lucas stared at Elmesia's emerald eyes and said, "I'll answer them, but you'll have to take me to the Jura Forest. Will you do it?"
Elmesia frowned as she heard this. She didn't like deals and also didn't like to work. Lucas was asking too much from her. She shook her head and said, "no. Now answer my questions."
Lucas shrugged and said, "if you don't do it, I'll simply ask the people here and go to the Jura Forest. Obviously, I won't answer your questions while doing so and if you keep following me, you'll reach the Jura Forest as well."
Elmesia knitted her brows as she heard this. What Lucas said made sense.
She didn't reply to him right away but thought about things for a bit.
A few seconds later, she said, "I can only take you to the Free Guild Association. The Jura Forest is not far from there."
Lucas shrugged and said, "there's no deal then."
He continued to walk towards the direction of a random stranger.
"Ugh. Wait. I'll take you to the Jura Forest." Elmesia really wanted to know about Lucas and thus agreed with his requests.
Lucas nodded and walked close to her.
Elmesia asked him to follow her and started walking in a certain direction.
Lucas followed her and on their way, Elmesia asked many things to Lucas such as where did he stayed at, where was he born, what is he doing out here in the wild, etc. But Lucas didn't give out any personal information to her and simply answered the ones he felt would keep her curiosity satiated while at the same time not leak anything more about him.
They took a rental carriage from the small village they were in and from there, they travelled towards the Free Guild Association's blumund branch.
It took them half a day to reach there and the rental was of course paid by Elmesia herself.
They got off the carriage in front of a big building. It was the Free Guild and Lucas could see adventurers going in and out of the building.
The carriage went away after dropping Lucas and Elmesia.
Lucas and Elmesia stood in front of the big guild building and looked at it from a bit of distance.
"So this is the Free Guild…"
