Hope

Sleeping on the hard ground, next to the woman I loved, felt both romantic and uncomfortable. The ground was lumpy and uneven, and despite my best efforts to find a comfortable spot, my body ached all over. I could hear the crickets chirping outside, and the sound of the wind rustling the trees.

As I lay there, I couldn't help but think about Chloe, who was sleeping a few feet away from me. Her hair was messy, and her breathing was slow and even. I watched her chest rise and fall with each breath, and I felt a surge of love for her.

But I also felt guilty. I should have insisted that she sleep on the bed with me, or at least found a way to make her more comfortable on the floor. I didn't want her to think that I was being selfish or thoughtless.

As I lay there, lost in thought, I suddenly heard a rustling noise. I turned to see Chloe sitting up, rubbing her eyes. She looked around, disoriented, before she realized where she was.
