Another dead end

She didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Help him expose crime? How was she going to do that when she didn't even know who was the one behind the killing?

"I think you are highly mistaken, Detective," she said. Her gaze lingered on that file again for a brief moment before looking at him. "I don't know anything so I can't help you," she said and just nodded before pulling the file to himself.

He opened it and brought out some photos from it and placed them on the table for her to see. They were photos of her and her eyes grew wide when she saw them. "Then can you explain this?" Jones asked. "The one we seek now is also a woman, it could be you"

He didn't want to play the bad cop card but he was left with no choice here, he needed an answer and a solution or at least a good enough clue but he was just against rock-hard surfaces at every turn.
