Amyra's POV...
I feel the rays from the sun hit my eyes for a few seconds then I don't feel them anymore. I open my eyes only to see the blinds down and Lucas standing at the foot of the bed.
" How do you feel? ", he asks and I struggle to sit up, him watching me the entire time.
" I.. Better, my throat just hurts a bit. "
" Probably from all the coughing. ", he nods as he puts on his suit jacket and necktie.
" Call Martha if you need anything. I'm off to work now. ", he says and leaves the room.
Well, okay.
I sigh and fall back in bed, pushing the blankets and stuff off my body. I still feel a bit chilly but I feel better than last night.
I soon find myself dozing off in bed again. I only wake up when Martha comes to serve me breakfast. I reluctantly have it, along with some soup before going back to sleep again.

" Madam, Mr Lucas will be really furious with me if you don't have your food and meds. ", one of the helpers, Annie panics beside me.
She had come to serve me lunch but I didn't feel like having it. She tries to no avail to get me to get out of bed.
" Miss, you have a fever! ", she gasps as she touches my forehead with her palm. She then runs out of the room, soon returning with Martha.
" Oh dear, call Master Lucas immediately. Annie, go get the driver, we need to take her to a hospital. "
I only hear a few distanced calls before slipping into unconsciousness.

I open my eyes to find myself in my room again, yeah, my room. The place seems warmer and although the lights are on, I immediately know it's dark out.
Sighing, I touch my head to feel for any signs of abnormal temperature but nothing. I still feel like a train wreck.
" How are you feeling now? ", Lucas asks, startling me for a minute.
" Better, I guess. "
" Hm. ", he nods then proceeds to wipe my forehead with a cool towel. We sit in silence, one more confused than the other. After a moment of silence, I finally speak.
" When did you get here? "
" A few hours ago. Annie called and said you were feeling worse so I brought the Doctor with me. How could you possibly get sicker because of water? ", he chuckles softly, as if laughing at an inside joke.
" Anyways, you'll be fine soon. I guess your body has a mind of it's own. We will have dinner up here then you will have the drugs he prescribed. ", I nod as my eyes glance over at the wall clock.
It is only a little after 7pm but since I've barely had anything all day, I feel extremely hungry.
For dinner, I ask Martha to make me some white rice and a chicken salad with some fruits while Lucas asks for pasta and sauce.
Dinner time is quiet until Lucas eventually speaks up. " Do me a favor and read the file I gave you tomorrow, yeah? We have a lot of things to implement in this marriage, Mrs Dawson. ", he says from his spot on the couch at the far end of the room.
I look up to see him already looking at me so I nod, pondering over his words slightly. It still confuses me as to how all this happened, as though it was pre-planned.
I find myself smiling as I shake my head at the absurdity of my thoughts. The chances of Lucas Dawson picking one of us himself are very low.
But why would he want THIS in exchange for helping dad's company, huh?
I can almost see my dinner frowning at me as I pick the leftover on my plate mindlessly so I finish up, sighing as the last bite seems to give me the utmost satisfaction.
I wonder if I'm allowed to call my family often now, I would know if I'd read the contract now, wouldn't I?
Lucas clears his throat and looks up from his plate. I watch in silence as he presses the intercom and gathers our plates. Soon enough, Annie knocks on the door and cleans up, taking our plates with her.
" What is it? "
" Hm? ", I look up at Lucas. He is sporting his signature nonchalant look but I know I'm irritating him somehow.
" N..nothing. I just.. I was really hungry. ", I stutter as a blush creeps into my cheeks.
" If that's the case, then why do you keep stuttering, hm, wifey? ", he says with a playful smile.
Wow, this man really knows how to go 180 with his moods.
" Stop calling me that. ", I practically snap at him, glaring at him through my lashes.
Crap, my neck hurts, badly.
I shake my head to ease the pain in my stiff neck, which of course, makes it worse.
" I just.. ", I sigh, trying to summon the courage I so desperately am in need of.
" Can I call my family? I mean, as often as I used to."
" This is your family now. We're married, in case you've forgotten that. ", he says calmly, his jaw clenching.
" I mean my mom, and everyone at.. well, my old house. I'm asking because I still haven't read the rules yet. So I have no idea if the contract permits me to do certain stuff that I was used to. I really want to talk to my parents again. ", I let out as smoothly as I can and that's if smoothly means driving on a bumpy road to you.
I wouldn't want to do anything that could possibly affect my dad in any way. Even if he couldn't care less about me.
" It's allowed. All you have to know is that you should answer questions relating to the contract neutrally, without details. ", he says, taking out my phone from the nightstand, handing it to me.
His nose brushes mine as he leans back up with my phone and while I turn red from the shock of the brief proximity we shared, he does not seem to be affected.
And if he is, he doesn't show it.
" Thank you. ", I mumur as I stare at my phone, tears threatening to fall. I feel homesick all of a sudden, I've missed them all so much although I just visited not long ago.
I exhale heavily, trying not to cry. I hate being too emotional at times.
" I'll excuse you. ", he says as he leaves for the bathroom.
After a few minutes, I exhale heavily and finally dial the number of the person I so desperately wanted to call.
" Hello? ", I say after the ringing stops.
The person at the other side groans in annoyance before speaking up.
" Hello there, baby sis. "
" You bitch. You spiteful whore! ", I say angrily, my voice shaking.
" Ouch, I thought we've spoken about your frequent use of bad words, hunny. ", Camila says mockingly. The stupid bitch still has the nerve to act all high and mighty.
" Fvck you, Camila. Fvck you. You set me up! Why did you offer to marry him if you were only gonna run away, huh?! "
" You're so dramatic, Amy. It's not a big deal. So what if you're married now? Get over it. And besides, you've loved basking in the spotlight ever since our childhood so yeah, bask in this as well. ", she practically cackles while I turn red from anger.
No matter how much we had misunderstandings in the past, I'd never expected that she'd want to o hurt me so badly.
By the time I start my next sentence, I'm full on crying. I don't know why I feel so betrayed.
" We're sisters, Camilla. Yes, we can fight at times and say mean things to each other but.. you've robbed me of my future, my freedom. Of the chance to fall in love with someone before marrying the person. ", I cry. There's shuffling and silence at first until Camila speaks again.
" Screw you, Amyra. I don't care about you or anyone in that family. They've always cared only about you anyways. Don't you ever call my number again, selfish bitch. ", she says and hangs up.
I angrily throw my phone across the room, yelling in frustration.
Lucas walks in slowly, quickly glancing around before his eyes land on me. He visibly relaxes and walks towards me.
" I'm guessing your phone call didn't end well. "
" I'm not in the mood for jokes, Lucas. ", I say sourly, leaning back on the bed.
" I wasn't trying to make any. ", he frowns.
" Do you want a drink? ", I look up at him through tired eyes before turning over on the bed.
" Goodnight, Lucas. "
I sink into the bed willing myself to sleep when Lucas drapes the covers over my body.
" Goodnight. "
