Case Black

The docks were filled with shipments coming in from the sea. It was quiet, the metal containers grew cold as they laid out in the open.

Yang and Blake were currently set up watching the docks. They were staying at the top of the containers with their head down.

Yang was bored just waiting for minutes. "Do you do this often during your time in the White Fang?" She asks.

"Yes, we watch for a while to raid SDC," Blake replied.

Their missions consisted of Blake and the rest of the White Fang learning information on supply routes by the SDC. They ambushed and took everything they could and escaped back into hiding.

Oftentimes, the day just resulted in mostly waiting for the convoys to arrive, it was not particularly thrilling as an everyday activity which Yang thought the same.

Yang lowered her head and closed her eyes, "Welp, this ain't particularly exciting." Yang started to sleep while they waited.

Blake looked up from looking at the docks toward her partner trying to sleep on the mission. "Right, of course."

A few more minutes passed and Yang decided to make up more conversation. It was getting more and more probable that the White Fang wasn't going to arrive, Blake thought..

"Why'd you join the Fang anyways?" Yang asked.

"I was born in it, I just wanted to help faunuses but you know how that ended."

Blake smiled at her partner, team RWBY were the ones who did in fact help her during her last run-in with the White Fang and Cinder's subordinates.

Yang stared at her partner as they conversed. "Hmm, don't know why people would hate faunuses."

It didn't make sense for Yang.

"Only a few changes to the body and now everyone hates the faunuses?" she made Blake clarify why humanity hated faunuses anyway.

Blake sighed "You'd be surprised how a little change can make humans hate us."

Yang then started to smirk at Blake, who became weirded out. 'Well, I personally think your cat ears are adorable."

Blake was surprised at the sudden compliment aimed at her, not to mention it was coming from Yang. Though she didn't mind it since deep down it kind of made her happy.

"Huh? Oh…okay?" Blake stuttered out.

The sound of bullhead engines was sounding from the distance, looking at the night sky, silhouettes of transports were discernible.

Bullheads arrived and hovered over the area, White Fang leaped out and started to affix hooks on the shipping containers marked with the SDC symbols.

"Are we going in? I wanna punch stuff." Yang started to deploy her gauntlets.

Blake considered the risks in fighting multiple people but stopped and looked closely at the group of White Fang. She noticed a pair of familiar bullhorns that adorned the top of the head of one of the members below.

'No, why are you here of all places?'

Adam was there.

Blake started to get up and confront the White Fang, the action made Yang perk up and begin to launch herself forward guns blazing.

"Yang! Wait up!"

Blake was worried, Adam was a dangerous foe. He was a formidable opponent even without his aura or semblance since his martial ability was excellent. Blake didn't want Yang to fight him alone, especially since Yang was a hothead.

Yang sent herself down, surprising the White Fang and pummeling them all to the ground with normal aura protected punched. She assumed her boxing style and quickly knocked out goon after goon.

Members the of White Fang tried raising their weapons but were suddenly knocked to the air as a kusarigama swept their legs out by Blake who snuck around while Yang created a huge disturbance.

Yang looks at her partner who arrived. Blake sighed at Yang's lack of self-control when finding a fight. "Don't start without waiting for me."

Yang chuckled. "Gotta be faster than that, Blake. I thought you were supposed to be the ninja?" she joked.

A series of fights followed soon after, both Blake and Yang being able to easily dispatch the numerous White Fang members without breaking a sweat. The grunts were in pain clutching their body.

Yang observed the area they fought in. "That was too easy, let's find the leader of this place and take them back to the ice cream shop."

A sword coming out of its sheathe was heard by the duo. Blake immediately recognized the man that stood in front of them, Yang meanwhile eyed the new fighter thinking it was a good challenge.

Adam soon slowly walked towards the pair. Blake narrowed her eyes while Yang excitedly reloads her gauntlets for a good fight.

"So you the bigshot in the little operation of yours." Yang spat.

Blake stepped forward to confront Adam "Why are you working for Cinder?"

"Blake? Darling is that you?" He heard a familiar voice.

'Why is he looking around? I'm right in front of him.'

"Blake? You know this person?" Yang pointed at Adam.

Blake hesitantly answered, "...Acquainted."

Adam smirked at Blake's attempt to distance herself from him. "Don't downplay our relationship Darling you know how much that hurts."

Yang noticed the uncomfortable look on Blake's face and faced Adam.

"Hey, take a hike creep. Can't you see she's uncomfortable around you?"

Blake shook off her unease and focused on finding out more about their enemies. "Adam, answer the question." Blake reiterated.

Adam draws his weapon and assumes a stance, "It's not like I have a choice." Adam enigmatically answers.

"A choice?"

Adam clenched his fist around the handle of Wilt "You wouldn't understand."

Blake sends out bullets as she fires her Gambol Shroud while Adam tries to deflect it. A few shots make it through damaging his aura. Which was noticed by Blake.

Yang jumped with her fist winding back and rushed towards Adam who resheathed and opened Wilt to use his semblance just in time.

Blake watches as she recognizes the move. "Yang!" she said in a panic.

It would be a devastating blow if she got hit.

Yang's punch connects with the blade of Adam as she moves away after hearing Blake call her name. She sidesteps after reacting quickly to Blake's call out.

Adam smirks as he feels the blade take the hit, and he smirks as his semblance activates. His body glows red and he felt the rush of power contained by his sword and swings his empowered blade towards Yang.

"..."

He completely misses, the hit was not even close because Yang was already to the side while Adam swung opposite to her which confused both Yang and Blake.

Yang counterattacks by directly sending a punch toward his face. The impact sends him flying toward one of the shipping containers, leaving a dent as Adam's mask begins to crack and shatter from the hit.

He groaned in pain just in time for the mask to start peeling away from his scarred and burned face.

Blake stared in disbelief as the mask fully breaks away and leaves the blinded state of Adam for both of them to see.

Blake was horrified at the massive scar now covering half his face. "...Adam?"

"No! Don't say my name like that! I can hear your pity Darling and I do not need it!" He angrily gripped the handle on his blade.

Blake tried to ask about his involvement with Cinder "Did Cinder do this?"

"None of your concern." He spat out.

Blake recognized his immediate denial.

'So she did. Why was he still following her around though?'

"Can you at least tell me why the White Fang are working with her after she did that?" Blake asked.

Adam tilted his head in shame while seething anger lined his words. "They don't have a choice, but I will take my vengeance and soon take back the Fang." He steadied his grip before lunging for Blake.

Blake sees the strike and uses her clones to leave a copy of herself made of ice. Adam strikes the copy and gets stuck to the ice and tries to use his gun, Blush, to destroy the ice.

As soon as he tried aiming his gun sheath, Yang goes straight for him and lands multiple hits on Adam who tried desperately dodging but failed.

The fight was way too easy, for Blake and Yang. Before they fought, Blake predicted it was going to be a difficult fight.

Now though, it was the exact opposite.

Yang didn't even want to fight Adam anymore, she didn't like beating up disabled people. Her excitement for battle left the moment it was revealed that Adam was blind.

Wanting to end the fight quickly she charges a punch straight at his gut, Adam tries to block but couldn't look at where the punch would land and takes the full force of Yang's punch.

His aura breaks and gets knocked out soon after, he slumps from the container behind him and falls to the ground.

Yang walks up towards the unconscious body and turns to Blake. "Do we take him into the ice cream shop, Blake?"

Blake nodded, even if Adam was blind he could still be fished out for information on Cinder's location where Hanns would be able to act.

"Alright, upsy daisy." Yang hefts up Adam and tossed him over her shoulder. She looks to the rest of the White Fang strewn out all over the place. The bullheads they were in had already left which was definitely going to be a headache for Torchwick.

"What about the rest?" Yang points to the White Fang.

"Send them to the police," Blake responds before eyeing the bullheads flying away "So, who's going to tell Torchwick that we let a few get away?".

"Not gonna be me, Blake." Yang quickly said. Blake sighed as the both of them started tying up any White Fang they found and called the police. Blake wondered if Hanns was doing okay.

The ice cream store that sat in the middle of a lonesome street blended in between other similar-looking commercial buildings. Late in the night team RRYNBW slowly trickled inside while hauling the people they caught.

Torchwick sat in the middle of the room while grinning. His lit cigar glowed with orange and his cane was nestled in his arms.

He spoke up towards the group and raises his arms outwards. "Ladies, Ice Queen... Operation Barbarossa is a stunning success!"

The team was relieved, they had done it. Not only capturing the man heading the operation but also more of Cinder's subordinates.

When Torchwick and Ruby first arrived, they had been happy just leaving Hei in the room below the ice cream store which would serve as their prison for now.

Weiss arrived with Neo second. Torchwick looked at the ill Weiss and nodded in understanding. It was the first time she probably saw someone killed. Torchwick knows that Neo was a killer and probably did it for fun as well.

Weiss took a bit of time just relaxing so that she could rest her mental state after that whole event. Neo rubbed her back in comfort despite her being the one that killed the man in the first place.

Torchwick was at first livid when he got told a few white fang escaped in bullheads. They were going to have less time to react if they reported directly to Cinder. Although their capture of a certain bull faunus made him forget all that.

It seemed to the group that Torchwick had bad blood between him and Adam. Now that they were meeting again, this time with Torchwick free from Cinder's influence he looked ecstatic.

"Neo, tell our tank friend that we will have information on Cinder soon. We just have to do a little convincing with our guests down at the basement."
