Trial and error

There was a simple question Jack had to understand which was how do you get through and survive and blizzard.

So Jack made sure to do the whole god thing and gave the frost walkers a message and told them to prepare and think of ways to survive the blizzard.

Jack himself had some basic ideas like stocking up on high-energy foods and finding a good source of fire or heat to use.

Another way is to build multiple small and compact structures that would be strong enough to withstand the blizzard.

"I'm guessing it would be like an igloo and I could hopefully get them to make a few of them where they can rest and try to warm themselves back up." -Minerva

"It's probably best for them to build some of the pieces of the igloos before they go into the blizzard since it would be impossible to build in those conditions"-Jack

"If possible maybe they could have a rope system which they are all connected to by the waist and they can attach it to spikes put in the ground"-Minerva

"I think all these together give the Jackrixis a good chance of breaking through the blizzard and securing us that reward"-Jack

"What do we do if there is something in the blizzard"-Minerva

"...I'll be honest I haven't thought about it"-Jack

"I'm guessing since they won't be alone it would probably be 5 of them so they can share heat but also protect each other against any threats"-Jack

"True I mean it's going to be hard for most things to fight against a group of 5 rixis so they should be fine"-Minerva

While Jack and Minerva were discussing the problems that come with tackling a blizzard the rixis followed their god's advice and decide to try a few methods against the blizzard.

The only problem being they all had different ideas on what would be best to do against the blizzard with some wanting to try going around the blizzard.

Those rixis were promptly hit over the head since the mission was to get past the blizzard and into whatever was hidden within it.

Another purpose digging a tunnel under the blizzard but with the time constraint and technology limit, it would take too long and be very dangerous.

So they were back to square one until an elder said that they should think small and then big so they started thinking of small but useful ideas.

One rixis went up to the blizzard and just tried to see how long he could last and found that he could walk for about 1 minute until it got too much.

Because of the wind, cold, and snow, it sapped your energy very quickly which would left you vulnerable to a multitude of dangers.

Another not-so-bright rixis also died due to the blizzard or at least they think he did since they last saw him wandering towards it.

The next day they found his arm and that was it it looked like something had bitten it off so this showed the rixis that they weren't alone in the blizzard.

Many things were tried and failed as the rixis had to learn and adapt to the blizzard the hard way while Jack and Minerva planned and schemed.

It took 1 month alone for jack and Minerva to send the necessary information to the Jackrixis but also made sure they understood clearly what they wanted.

The rixis were still primitive but they were starting to catch up so it took them a while to get what jack and Minerva were trying to convey.

They could understand them just fine but it was just wrapping their heads around new concepts like igloos and layered clothing.

So time went on and halfway into the 2 months of the 3-month time limit the frost walkers now wore fully layered clothing of thick wool and skin.

Thankfully because of their strength they could manage the extra weight that the clothes brought and had found a suitable source for fire.

Since this was a task the gods wanted them to complete the other tribes quickly found out of wanted to take part and help as well.

It was the discovery of the mountain slammers and the apexian order that they found this source to start the fire and keep it going.

The mountain slammers discovered a type of crystal that didn't like being in the sunlight and when put into the sunlight it would be set ablaze.

It only lasts for a few seconds before burning itself out but with what the apexian order found it helped create the long-lasting fire they need to survive.

It was a type of resin that came from a large orange tree that was quite rare and hard to extract since the resin was actually inside the tree.

You couldn't get it from outside the tree like others so you would have to shop it down which was difficult since it was stronger than normal trees.

But thanks to the power of lighting hitting the tree and causing the mighty orange to fall and its precious treasure within was released.

This amber-like resin was extremely sticky but also flammable and when set on fire could last much longer than anything they would currently have.

They tested it and the resin wrapped around the end of a long stick would burn for 3 hours before running out but that was in the forest.

In the blizzard, it would probably last for an hour which was still quite good but that lead to a problem they couldn't solve.

How long they would be in the blizzard and how much time it would take to get to the other side which they didn't know.

Minerva suggested throwing something with a string and then pulling it back while counting to get a rough estimate.

"How would we do that just throw it?"-Jack

"No, I was hoping we could get one of those venexes to flight into the blizzard and drop it but I was just throwing an idea out there"-Minerva

"I don't think it would work all that well thought Minerva.. no offense"-Jack

"Don't worry Jack I was just giving you multiple options"-Minerva

"Thanks, Minerva"-Jack
