Chapter Four: The Tide of Emotions

Hudson:

The noise in the local red diner was too loud, but her smiling face calmed me down. Her hair was still wet, the strands clinging to her face. Sure, once I was a sociable person but when my parents died I hid away. If it weren't for Evie, I would have never eaten or felt any emotions. Slowly over time, she had been chipping away at my icy heart. My inner wolf growled, a blued eyed werewolf plopping down next to her. He ran his hands through his long red hair, his arm wrapping around her shoulder. Shoving him off, the crack of her hand slapping his face silenced everyone.

"Leave me alone!" She yelled hotly, kicking him to the ground. "Alpha Hudson is my mate, so back off Devin. All you are is a loser that I would never have feelings for. Let's go!" Rising to her feet, his fingers wrapped around her ankles. Whipping her to the ground, he dragged her towards him. A snarl curled on her lips, a fang sticking out just so. Everyone gasped, her heel slamming into his nose. Crack! His nose broke, my inner wolf swelling with pride. Jumping to her feet, half of the diner stood up. Angry looks increased the tension in the room, a defiant grin growing on her determined face.

"You were promised to me by your parents three years ago, and I am claiming my prize." He warned bitterly, his hand reaching out for her. "Come with me like the good girl you are." Her fingers played with the hem of her skirt. She was at her limit again, this time rage boiling in her veins.

"Who the hell do you think you are to decide who I can be with!" She exploded, claws growing from her hands. "I am the second most powerful werewolf in my clan, and you dare to disrespect me. It is not my fault the former alpha wanted us to get married to combine the clans. I told him no and he slapped me to the ground." My heart shattered, my father was horrible to her as well. Stepping back, a migraine began to throb. Come to think of it, no one ever spoke to her except for me. Devin sauntered towards her, his hand aiming to slap her. Shock widened his eyes, my hand catching his arm midair.

"No one hurts my mate." I snarled possessively, teeth falling to the ground as my fist slammed into his jaw. "She is not a prize to be won, but a mate to love." His face was inches from mine, his lips curling into a sneer. If my father was still alive, I would be screaming at him right now. A horn honked outside, Evie sitting on the rumbling motorcycle. The black helmet on her head shimmered under the streetlight. Sprinting out the door, Devin cried out in fury as I hopped onto the bike. The tires squealed into the purple rays of the twilight sky, her driving until we stopped at a gas station a few minutes outside of our village. Ripping the helmet off of her head, fury boiled in my veins. Her hair tumbled over her shoulder.

"How dare you lie to me about my parents not knowing anything!" I roared in her face, her body quaking with fear. "I would have protected you from everyone, you idiot." Straightening her posture, tears streamed down her cheeks.

"I never told you so you could be happy unlike me!" She blurted out, burying her head in her palms. "Everyone treated me like shit, my destiny was to become a damn breeder. Did you really think that they would have allowed us to be together? A breeder and the alpha's son? No, your father wanted me gone so you could have a proper girl. Everyday my parents, the kids at school, and your parents all bullied me. To this day no one respects me, the sharp whispers are always trailing me. I always pretend that it doesn't hurt, but it does. You picked a dud!" Frustration boiled within me, my clan was full of shitty assholes who didn't know a damn thing about respect. Lifting up her chin with my finger, she looked away in shame.

"Once you are Luna, then they will have to respect you." I expressed happily, wiping away her tears. "If anyone is the dud, it is them, not you." Pulling her close to my chest, she gripped my shirt. Something was wrong, her wolf was super sad. Hopping back on the bike, we rode home. She watched the trees go by, tears dripping from the helmet. How could I have been so ignorant back then? She was suffering, and she was supposed to be my best friend. Instead she stood by my side with a fake smile, and hid her pain too well. The tires squealed to a stop, her trembling body clinging onto me with dear life. Peeling off her helmet, dirt flew all around her as she ran into the log cabin. The helmet rolled to my feet, Latia coming out with a puzzled look on her face.

"Why is she so upset?" She questioned softly, my shoulder brushing against hers as I raced behind her. "Did you say something?" The stairs protested as I pounded up them, her body was curled into a ball on our, yes I said our bed. Walking into the bathroom, my eager eyes watched steaming water pour from the silver spout of the soaking tub. Dropping a purple bath bomb into the water, she was sitting numbly at the edge of the bed. The bed squeaked in protest as I sat down next to her, my fingers undoing her buttons. The dress fell to the bed, her shaking body not responding. The clasp of her bra breathed a sigh of relief, her breasts bouncing out. Peeling off her underwear, I scooped her up. Setting her down in the tub, she played with the surface of the water. Wetting her hair, she said nothing as I shampooed her hair. Rinsing it out, bubbles floated on the surface.

"Can you come in?" She asked quietly, pulling on my arm. "I need you to hold me. I feel so alone right now." Tears welled up in my eyes, her sad eyes meeting mine. My clothes landed in a pile on the floor, the water splashing as I slid into the nice water. She rested her head on my chest, tears mixing with the water on my chest.

"I am so sorry on behalf of my parents." I apologized pathetically, her head shaking. Her fingers traced my chest. "They were wrong to treat you that way." Smiling to herself, slight joy shimmered in her eyes. Biting her lip, she glanced over at the locked door.

"I want to be a mother." She confided oddly, my inner wolf howling for me to do her right now. "But I do know that I have to wait until I am in heat. I hope you don't think that I am rushing things. My whole life I wanted to be a mother, a good one." My lips parted to speak, but snoring interrupted me. She was sleeping on my chest, a knock on the door snapping me out of my happy daze. Water splashed as Evie jerked awake, she hopped out of the tub. Drying herself off, she pulled on my fluffy robe. Opening the door, Latia looked like hell. Shit, she was in heat for the first time. Sweat dripped off of her skin, a fever reddening her face. Evie snapped into mother mode, and picked her off of the ground.

"Lock the door, and all windows on the way in." She ordered sharply, James peeking in. "We need to make sure Grayson doesn't show up. The last thing she needs is a baby from him." Watching her take charge turned me on, James running around closing and locking everything. Once everyone left, I got dressed. Evie carried Latia to her bed, strapping her down.

"Don't you think that you are being a little harsh?" I growled irritably, pulling on a black t-shirt. "She won't leap out the window." A serious gaze met mine, her lips curling into a snarl. Her fists clenched tightly, blood dripping onto the ground.

"When a female werewolf is in heat they will do anything to get to their mate, and so won't the male to go impregnate them." She grumbled tiredly, James walked up with a bucket of ice cold water. "Can you check if Grayson is actually her mate?" Nodding, he held his hand over her neck. A blush rose to his cheeks, his feet shifting uncomfortably. A lump formed in his throat, loud banging echoed through the house.

"Let me in!" Grayson demanded hotly, his brute strength nearly breaking down the front door. "I need to impregnate her." Panic widened my eyes, Evie running out of the room. Leaping out of the nearest window, dirt hid her form. Grayson lunged at her, claws growing from his hands. My heart broke, his claws scratching her face. Three lines of blood formed on her face, her claws growing from her hands.

"You need to leave." She roared carnally, slamming her foot into his face. "You rejected her, did you not?" Stepping back, he rubbed the back of his neck. His furious face softened, his hand rubbing the back of his neck. Looking away shamefully, he got on his knees.

"You can execute me if you want." He offered proudly, his body trembling. "I know that I have been a dick for my whole life, but I want to do things right. All I can think about is her, and only her." Offering him her hand, he took it. Turning his back, Latia burst from her restraints. Glass shattered behind me, Latia leaping out the window.

"Grayson, you came." She chirped cheerfully, her arms wrapping around his neck. "I need you so bad right now." Evie stepped in to stop them from leaving, Latia shoving her to the ground. Surprise darkened her face, pain burning in her eyes. The two of them ran off into the woods, her claws digging into the dirt. Stumbling to her feet, her claws retracted. Rushing to her side, I tossed her over my shoulder.

"If they get to have fun, we are." I joked lightly, winking in her direction. "Do you still want a child? I hope your heat comes soon." Shooting me a devious grin, her thighs rubbed together. Her tongue wagged excitedly, her hands trembling.

"Are you mad?" She queried sweetly, shame dimming her eyes. "I want a big family, and I-" Swinging her into my arms, a loving gaze met mine. Pressing my lips against hers hungrily, she melted into her arms. Nuzzling her head into the crook of my neck, she smelled amazing. Of course I wanted kids with her, my wolf was howling away.

"Why would I be mad?" I chuckled jovially, kissing the top of her head. "I will give you as many as you want. Do you want to practice?"
