Chapter 16 Exclusive

"You applied for the job of a bartender and you will work as a bartender." There was just this thing with the way Ash spoke to her and she just couldn't fathom what it was, maybe that was just how bosses spoke. Peace didn't know who this man was yet but in her head she was already assuming him to be her boss. Just like how Red stared at her from her head to her toe, Ash did the same and Peace decided not to think negatively about it. It was a club anyway and anything was possible.

After eternity of staring at her in silence, Ash turned towards Red and said to her, "I like her. You already know what to do." After that, he went back to sit on his bed and the curtains closed back on its own.

Red then turned around to look at Peace who seemed to be both overwhelmed and confused about everything and she said to her, "you don't need to be afraid about anything. Come let's go. I will tell you what this is about on our way out." She smiled at her before she opened the door and they both left.

With Red leading the way, she started to explain to Peace who Ash was and what she went there to do.

"Ash is an important figure in this club." She started. "You can call him the manager of this club. It's like a joint partnership thing..." she sighed and then continued. "In fact I don't know how to explain it to you but umm... Let me just go straight to the point. Santana club is not an ordinary club."

"Yeah I know about that." Of course Peace knew how a lot of people including her co-workers at the burger store wanted to work in the club even as a cleaner and it wasn't just about the pay, it was about the benefits and the connections and now that she was privileged to work here, she won't let the opportunity slip out of her fingers. Yes, she was lucky and she was going to do all it takes to earn enough money to pay for her father's chemotherapy and maintain the Orphanage home.

"Exactly. This is a club that has graced the presence of celebrities like Dj Khaled, Quavo, Da baby, Megan Thee Stallion and even Nicki Minaj to mention but a few." Did she just mention Nicki Minaj? Peace had never been more excited than she was at that moment to know that she was inside the club that Nicki Minaj visited at one time. Oh, how she wished that she would see her in reality. How she wished that Trinidadian was going to visit the club again. "Anyways..." Red continued. "I only went to Ash for one reason and that is to recommend you to work in the VIP section. I saw potential in you and decided that you were fit to work in the VIP section and that is why I met with Ash."

"Really?" Peace was pleased that Red saw her as someone that was fit to work for the VIPs.

"Yes. Normally, I take care of the girls and I don't need validation from anyone including Ash to assign duties to the girls but you see... Matters pertaining to the VIPs are critical and we need a level headed person to handle them. Someone that wouldn't cause troubles like the former girls because our VIPs are special and some of them tend to be delicate and crazy."

Peace scoffed silently immediately she heard Red refer to her as level headed. Of course she wasn't level headed. In fact she was a no-nonsense person and wouldn't take shit from anybody despite their caliber. Well, she was right in a way -- she wasn't a trouble maker and just as her name implies, she was a peaceful person and even though she would always strike back when someone offended her, she just had to keep her cool in that place so that she could get her pay in peace. So yes, she was going to act level headed in that place to avoid problems.

"So umm... Miss Red, what do you mean by ``the VIPs tend to be delicate and crazy?"

Red smiled and then answered her. "With time, you'll find out but I have to warn you of one thing, do not step on their toes." The more Red spoke, the more confused Peace became but she didn't just want to ask her again what she meant by that before Red would tag her as naive so she kept quiet and followed her silently.

Finally they got to a spot where she could finally hear the giggles and chattering of girls. Now that was way better than the long stroke of stillness that ensued between her and Red on their way to Ash room. Red opened a door and they both walked in, then she went straight to a wardrobe and brought out an outfit and presented it to Peace.

"Here you go. This is going to be your outfit for your work. Anyone that sees you in this will know automatically that you are working in the VIP section and that's it. Your shoes and hose are over there." She pointed at a small side table. Take it and change. I'll be waiting for you outside." Red said to her before leaving her to her privacy.

The first thing that Peace did was to stare at the attire which was held in two hangers. On her right hand was a white long sleeve and on the other was a black short skirt. Her whole attention was fixed at the short skirt as it seemed to be shorter than most skirts she had at home. Was she really going to wear that? What would her father say right now if he saw her wearing that? She sighed exhaustively as she knew that she had no choice but to wear it -- after all she was here to work and the work wasn't an illegal job, therefore a short skirt won't prevent her from getting the things that she was going to get.
