Even after I got back to my castle, Ryan's ramblings continued to play in my mind. I was annoyed with my behavior, and I could not shake it. For the first time, I lied to him about how I felt, and it felt like I was pushing him out of my life and putting up a wall between us.
Ding!
I was about to get into bed after changing into my new clothes when I heard a notification on my phone. A mail arrived. I looked for the sender, and my eyes lit up with excitement.
The mail was delivered with the triple R logo. For the past two years, I have been looking for a base or port in the Indian Ocean so that we can launch a counterattack on Mr Nicolas Dimitri, and I finally found something useful.
Dimitri invested the majority of their resources in Asia, particularly in Southeast Asia. This was an excellent opportunity for us to develop and expand our power while also challenging their supremacy.
The email came from Mr Raghav Rameshwer Reddy, CEO of Reddy Groups. I entered some keywords and instantly saw his entire profile. Aside from his textile business, the man also ran an import and export business. Most importantly, he had a few ports.
I opened the mail and read it carefully. He wrote all of his words professionally, but he could not hide his concern for his sister. Avi is a fucking gem; his every move is strategically calculated for our present and future.
Mr Reddy requested a meeting and was willing to do anything to ensure the return of his sister. This delighted me more than anything else. I never realized that keeping that girl for another week would be so profitable.
I replied to the email and scheduled a meeting at my London office. I turned off my phone and put it on the nightstand. Tiredly, I try to fall asleep.
One week later, in an abandoned warehouse.
Two of my men ushered a blindfolded man into my office by holding his both arms, as I had previously instructed. His hands were tightly tied behind his back. They made him sit on a simple wooden chair beneath the hanging bulb, the only source of light in this warehouse.
Meanwhile, I was sitting in the dark in a perfect hiding spot, where he could not see me but could hear everything I said. I signaled for one of my men to remove his blindfold. He followed my instructions; they closed the door and stood behind him in a guarding position.
The man sitting in the chair blinked a few times to adjust his eyes to the light above his head. He examined his surroundings carefully. He looked everywhere before turning in my direction in the dark. He narrowed his eyes, attempting to shape something, but I knew he couldn't.
One of my men placed his hand on the man's shoulder and asked him to sit up straight or relax, which he did.
"So you live in London?" I asked the dark, tall, and attractive man sitting in front of me...Mr. R. R. Reddy, Asia's textile king.
The man was physically strong and well-built, and he was dressed in a navy blue three-piece suit, giving off an elegant and royal vibe. His sharp features were marked with a few wrinkles of wisdom and experience. With salt paper hair, he appeared to be in his early forties.
"No, I have a few stores here, and I primarily import and export goods from London. What is this, Mr. King? You requested a meeting in your office; why did your men kidnap and escort me like a criminal?-"
"They even snatched my phone and tried to find any evidence of spying...it is humiliating," he said with annoyance and a frown on his face, and I understood him, but we did not have a choice. He had a thick accent, and the sweat on her forehead indicated that the man was exhausted.
I gestured at the man behind him, and he untied him; I felt sorry for him. He rubbed his wrist to relieve the irritation.
"I apologize for that, but we have some serious trust issues, and I hope you understand," I breathed out as I took a file from the desk in front of me and handed it to a man standing behind me. He quickly took it and handed it over to Mr. Reddy.
Mr. Reddy grabbed the file hesitantly and looked at me, puzzled. Nonetheless, he read the file carefully.
"What is this nonsense!?" I am here to take my sister with me, and you are negotiating with me over her life...did not you get enough from the other party?-"
"-My father has already left his seat to save her. The person who gave you the contract to kidnap her has already won the election, and I have information that you will receive a fair share of this deal. You will get permission and license to sail your ships, eventhough they have illegal containers, so why are you so greedy over a small port?" he asked shockingly, and I was thinking about how much information I should give him.
I wouldn't lie, the man impressed me when he came here for his sister; he loved her and did not hesitate to put his life in danger.
"I only have permission and license, but I require a base to dock shipments, which is why I need that port. It is not like I am going to own it forever; I only need it for the next five years, and you will make a profit, Mr. Reddy, so it is a fair deal," I explained, but what surprised me was that his voice did not quiver at all during our conversations.
"Fine! But I do not need your money. I have some conditions. First, no human trafficking or drug shipments will dock at any of my ports, and second, your illegal shipments will not stay for more than a week, Mr. King," he stated with a hint of anger in his voice. He held the file tightly and squeezed it slightly, which was enough to show me his anger.
Suddenly, the clatter of an object reverberated throughout the silance warehouse.
The man standing behind him took out his gun and held it over his head. I knew this would happen; my assassins could not take anyone's disrespectful behavior toward me, and Liam was impatient.
But, surprisingly, Mr Reddy remained unconcerned, instead glaring at me. The man had a ball of steel.
"Lower your gun," I ordered Liam as the device was plugged into our ears, and he obeyed by putting it back into his shoulder belt.
"I agree with your terms," I confirmed. As soon as I finished speaking, he took out a pen from his coat and scribbled his name on the document.
Liam grabbed the file from him and gave it back to me. I carefully examined it and his signature.
"Send the girl inside...huh? are you sure? Fine-then," I took out my phone from my pocket and ordered Avi, but he was insisted on meeting Mr. Reddy face to face.
A few minutes later, a knock planted on the door. Liam opened the door and let the two people in.
Avi entered the room while pushing a girl from behind. I never saw her before but she seemed lost. Her eyes were dark and hollow, she stared blankly at everything just as if her mind did not exist. She didn't seemed to be ditect any presence around her. Avi definitely messed up her head.
Mr. Reddy jumped out of his seat as soon as his sight fell on the girl. The eyes were cold and distant a few minutes ago, emotions surge out in them.
"Gya-Gayateri..." he called out her name to get her attention but she stand motionless as a statue. He embraced her tightly and patted her hair softly, not glancing at the man who was standing behind her; Avi.
Avi was glaring at him with all rage as an evil smirk creeping across his lips. He let them have their sweet moments.
"At least she is alive...isn't she? Unlike my brother who is dead" Avi scoffed and anger in his tone couldn't be hidden. I decided to not to interfere. Avi had suffered greatly as a result of their actions, and it was now his turn to avenge himself and repay those who had wronged him.
Mr Reddy finally peered in Avi's direction. Their gazes met, and both men were glaring at each other. If the look could kill, Avi would be six feet under the ground. Both men didn't not bother to hide their hate for each other.
Thud!
Unexpectedly, a punch landed on Avi's face. The impact of the action was so brutal that Avi was thrown a few inches away as he landed on the ground with a thud.
My guard surrounded Mr Reddy and took him under their guns in an instant, sending thunderous footsteps through the warehouse. They were just waiting for my signal, and I knew he and his sister would not make it alive today. Nonetheless, the man was still unfazed, not a glimpse of fear was on his face.
"Your brother get what he deserved, but you are such an idiot Avirudh. First you lost your brother and now you have lost the only person who loves you with your own hands....I really pity you today," he blurted out fruriouly.
My guards were still pointing guns at him. He took out a white card attached to a key and tossed it Avi's way. It landed on the ground, and Avi stood up on his feet, holding it.
"Revenge is not always so great Avi; sometimes we should let go of things for the sake of our and our loved ones' happiness...hope you get this one day," Mr Reddy continued, but this time he was calm, doing his best to control his anger.
Avi's face swelled, and blood trickled down from his nose and mouth, which he cleared with the back of his hand. He looked at the key, swallowed a lump in his throa t, and said nothing.
"I would like to return to my resort Mr. King," Mr Reddy requested as he turned his face in my direction.
"Sure!" I affirmed, I ordered Liam to blindfolded Mr Reddy and his sister and escort them back to resort.
Mr Reddy exited the area by proactively wrapping his arms around his sister's shoulders. Avi, on the other hand, still in the state of confusion, he stared blankly at the key in his hand.
I believe the man said the right words: "Revenge is not Great."
