Doll

Her breath came shallow as she found herself pinned to the wall, the blade she had picked against her throat. His cheek was pressed to hers, his lips close to her ear.

"Think about it Princess. I am the only person who still considers you as a royalty. I am the only person who understands you. I can help you boost your abilities. I can help you become the strongest person in this world. You can have what you want. You will never be scared of anyone. You are smart Princess..."

"And that is precisely why I would not fall for your deceit! Free me!" She pushed him with all her strength but was sure her moved on his own. She crumbled to the ground. She was too famished to be pulling such behavior.

He lifted her chin to have her look at his eyes and then, she saw it, in his eyes. Gone was the amiable and merciful look in his stare. In it's place, she saw the promise of misery, like she had never lived. The ability to kill without hesitation. The cruelty. A malicious smile appeared on his lips. He was showing her his true nature.

"Do you think I don't know that you are as useless as a human to me who's only worth resides in it's blood and how many times it can be fucked before breaking? Here I am, giving you a golden opportunity and you are here holding tight to principles that died along your country" He said and she placed her hands on her ears, unwilling to hear more, but his words seem to be like a dagger, being plunged into her bleeding wounds, reverberating in her mind.

"Enough!" She cried but he crouched to her level.

"I am the one protecting you at this instant. A word from me and Dan will make you live hell. He is twisted" He chuckled and Adaliah, shifted but he held her close, prying her hands off her ears, her blue eyes starting into his hellish grey ones. "I don't ask you to trust me. People cannot be trusted, not even your own people. What I ask of you is to obey me, grow stronger and stronger, learn my flaws and weaknesses, till you find a way to kill me" He said and released her. "But for that, you'll have to accept my proposition and feed yourself, you won't be able to kill me if you die"

"But you are insane. I don't want to kill people" She said and he chuckled.

"Such a sweet girl. You are still obviously living in your sugar coated world. You need a reward for your naivety. Dan, escort her back to her chamber, she doesn't seem very hungry" He said, a smile plastered on his face and she left. Just as the door closed, his smile fell, his expression becoming sour.

He walked to his chair and sat on it, fingers enclosing his chin, in deep thoughts. How he hated people who had principles. The worst were those who were smart and sensible. Obviously, this vampiric society didn't break her as it should have.

A knock on the door pulled him out of his thoughts and Dan came in, bowing at him.

"I want you to find as many information as possible about what this girl was doing in that pleasure house. All the details and even the names of all her clients." Dan turned around, ready to leave with gritted teeth. "Also, find her a good doll to play with, make sure she gets attached to it" He said and that lifted Dan's mood slightly.

Her eyes were wide as she stared at the wall before her. How did he know she was weakened? How did he know? Did he feel it like he felt she was a witch princess at first glance? How did he even feel it? For sure he wasn't a normal vampire. He wasn't even normal!

She touched her heart, the place her mother had touched before her magic was shut down. Only a small amount remained. The amount she used to cure humans. It was the only reason she hadn't been defiled or used as a blood slave. She stood up from the bed, walking towards the window.

'I have to escape at all costs!' She thought moving towards the window. She pushed it to realize it was locked. Of course it would be locked. Leaning her head against it, she sat on the window lane,, observing the outside. The sky was a bright blue color, with spotless pure wide clouds, moving freely in the sky. Birds chirped, moving in a neat row, following the clouds. She imagined herself being as free as those birds or at least the clouds.

Then she frowned.

None of them were free. Birds were only free to go wherever they wanted as long as the weather permitted it. Clouds were created to be destroyed. Made pure white, then either drying up or pouring down as rain. Kids were prisoners of their parents rules. Adults, prisoners of the society laws. Royalties, prisoners of their own status. No one was really unrestricted.

"We are all prisoners of something" She chuckled to herself still looking outside. "We were all prisoners"

All except predators. Those who stand at the top of the food chain. Those who are strong enough can make a change while the weak were to forever obey them.

"Stop Adaliah!" This was how people became villains. She didn't want to turn evil.

'But if turning evil made it right?'

"Hey!" Someone hollered aggressively behind her and she spun to see Dan holding onto a little girl, firmly by her hair. "His majesty told me to get you a doll" He threw the little girl to the floor before leaving, shutting the door and locking it.

All that was heard were the sounds of sniffing and sobs from the little girl. She couldn't be any older than nine years old and had a beautiful pink hair color.

"Hello, are you alright?" Adaliah asked walking towards her. The little girl jumped on her, holding to her waist, crying into her chest.

"We need to escape. They are vampires" She sobbed but Adaliah just patted her head, trying to calm her down. She was trembling like a leaf and obviously terrorized.

"Calm down, it is going to be alright. Come and sit down. What is your name?" Adaliah asked.

The little girl was named Vera. Her mother was a witch slave who died giving birth to her and as a result, she didn't learn to control her ability. She had an earth ability.

"My name is Adaliah. I am a witch as well. I am a... healer" She said and Vera smiled, before walking towards the windows. Checking if it could open, but nothing.

They were locked. Of course Adaliah knew it but Vera seemed to be panicking. Adaliah managed to calm her down till she fell asleep and she felt a sense of happiness seeing how quick they had connected.

But happiness never lasts. Dan came, banging on her door, startling Vera awake in the process.

"His majesty requires your presence"
