Ennimiro village, on a certain street.
Leon and Enayet were walking by, holding their hands. Some people would give them weird stares upon seeing them.
Leon just ignored them. Instead, he looked at Enayet and saw him being gloomy.
So he said something to cheer him up. "Enayet, what do you want? There seem to be so many things in this place."
Enayet raised his head up and looked around as if he were searching for something. After a while, he pointed in a certain direction and said."Brother, let's go there."
"Sure." Leon went in the direction that Enayet pointed.
When he came to the place, he found out that it was a candy stall. The owner was making a red-colored soft candy that had a rosy smell emitting from it.
Leon was curious he didn't there was candy that emits a rosy smell. He asked the owner, who was a middle-aged man. "Uncle, what are these?"
The owner was scared first because he was at the place yesterday when Leon made a scene. He was afraid that Leon would do that here, but seeing Leon actually being curious, he felt that they may just want to buy candy from him.
He said this while pointing at the candy. "It's called Apple Eyed Soft Candy. Its outer layer is made from Sunny Rose, which doesn't go off for four days after being picked up, even if you use its squeezed-out juice anywhere. The insides are made from Water Apple, so its inside is full of juicy jelly, that feels like you can only get that much from normal apples."
"OH," Leon was amazed by it. He felt if this candy were sold in his world, it would do well. "So, how much is it?"
"Three bronze coins per one." The owner replied calmly.
"What? isn't the price a little bit high?" Leon became baffled.
"High? What are you saying? You can only get this candy at this price from remote places like our village." Now it was the owner's time to get baffled.
"Uhhh," Leon, while thinking about what he should do, looked at Enayet. He saw Enayet looking at the candy jars intensely, as if he would pounce on them at any moment. Seeing him like that, Leon gritted his teeth. "Okay, how much can one jar cost?"
"I can give you one jar for one hundred and fifty bronze coins. My one jar contains close to one hundred candies; remember that." The owner, after some thought, gave them a cheap price.
Leon couldn't argue anymore with that because he said everything and they were basically on the winning side. But he has less than two hundred bronze coins and seven silver coins. If he uses these last three bronze coins, he has to use the silver coins in the future. He doesn't want that, using silver coins this early indicates that he has used up his money fast.
But Enayet's yearning for those candied made him forget that. "Okay, give me one."
.
On a bench, outside of a tea stall.
Leon and Enayet could be seen sitting on it.
Leon was drinking a cup of regular normal tea and Enayet was happily munching on some red-colored candy.
Leon warned Enayet while taking a sip of tea. "Don't eat too much; your tooth may ache and it would fall off. Also, don't eat too much in one day. Save it for the rest of the days."
Enayet took another one out and threw it in his mouth. He said it while munching. "Okay, I will."
Leon did a facepalm at this. "Of course you will."
Leon asked something out of nowhere. "Hey, Enayet. Your village has a decent amount of merchants, I can say. But where were they when the incident happened in your village?"
Enayet said. "They leave early in the evening. Because I heard they would be late to a town if they didn't leave at that time. They can arrive in the morning if they start going at that time."
"Oh, but don't they encounter any kind of problem while going basically at night? You know they may get attacked by bandits or beasts, or any kind of thing can happen." Leon asked about his doubts.
Enayet tilted his head. "Brother, don't you know they have personal guards, and they can also hire adventurers."
Leon nodded as if he understood it. But inside he was thinking. 'They are adventurers; why would they escort someone? They should go on an adventure in many places.'
He looked at his coin pouch subconsciously. 'Or is it for money? Maybe it is. They need money to go anywhere or for anything."
He sighed at the end."Eventually, money is needed for anything."
Enayet went along with him from the side. "Yes, yes, it does."
Leon laughed and patted his head. "Yes, it does." He stood up and gave his empty teacup to the stall owner. Then he paid one bronze coin for his tea.
He said to Enayet. "Let's go now. There are also many things to see; also, stop eating any more candy."
Enayet put his jar lid on and said."Okay."
They then went to many places to enjoy themselves.
They ate some street food.
They tried on many clothes but didn't buy them.
They tried some weird food they didn't like at first but eventually wasted money on them because they liked it in the end.
.
Close to evening.
Leon slumped on the same bench where he drank his tea. He touched his coin punch, and it made a heavy noise, announcing it was full. But Leon wasn't happy; his face became gloomy.
Today he spent without thinking, which caused him to exchange his silver coins for bronze ones. Now he has three hundred bronze coins that he just exchanged for his last silver coins.
Enayet, with his candy jar in his hand, said."Brother, do we have enough money? If we have, I want to try one last thing. That is a roasted rabbit they sell only shortly after evening. And I heard it is super tasty."
Leon immediately got rid of his gloominess. He stood up straight. "Let's go then; today is the last day we will be staying here. We are gonna leave with no regrets."
"Yeah!!" Enayet also cheered up.
They started toward that stall's direction.
Leon looked at Enayet's happy face, which made him happy too.
'I wish he can always smile like this.'
