Chapter 6

Since they opted to use direct conduction instead of suggestive, the 4 brothers immediately as if in a dreamlike trance saw visions of how the triplets would bring female mates from lands afar for their tribesmen.

The whole experience so bizarre, had it not been for the pain throbbing in their temples-due to direct spar conduction rather than suggestive- they would have thought it a rather vivid dream. Human beings are driven by self-interest, for tribes like theirs where males greatly outnumber females, reproduction is the greatest guarantee of survival.

When Zambiya and his brothers saw hope for the most pressing situation in their lives, they immediately knelt down in shock and reverence to the triplets.

"Command us Masters and we will obey." Zambiya said reverently on behalf of his brothers.

"In order to fulfil our mission, we have chosen the Elk Tribe to be our pioneering tribe. Zambiya, Chief of the Elk Tribe, are you willing to hand over your tribe for the fulfilment of the prophesy?" Alaric asked in an even baritone.

"Of course, Masters, your wish is my command. but the tradition of the Elk tribe is for the best warrior to be the chief. We need a reason to convince the warriors in the tribe." Zambiya informed the triplets, everything he said came from a point of consideration for them. He did not wish to challenge his new Masters but such was the tradition handed down by their forefathers, only the strongest warrior ruled the tribe.

"It is alright, we understand your point of view and respect your traditions. Tomorrow at dawn, one of use shall challenge you for the chieftainship. You shall fight with all your strength; I believe any of us brothers are more than equal to the task." Alaric informed in all arrogance. He knew only by establishing prestige would the tribe truly submit to them.

"Yes, Masters,"

It's not completely dark yet. When you walk out of the cave, the pristine fresh air is intoxicating, you can see the mountains and forests in the distance. The sunset dangles in the sky, glowing red, like a ball of fire. Occasionally, the roar of some beasts can be heard, echoing in the mountains and forests, startling a few birds. Zambiya had all the tribesmen assembled in front of his hut.

"Warriors of the Elk Tribe, Tomorrow at dawn, I am challenged by the warriors in front of me for the position of tribe chief. I have accepted their challenge and Any other male interested in the chieftaincy, is welcome to challenge the winner tomorrow"

Curious eyes gazed at the brothers, they looked build and warrior like, but they seemed young, not yet reached the mating age of 18 winters. But the chief position only went to the strongest male regardless of who it was.

'Alpha you will fight for the chieftainship. We will never publicly declare who actually fought, as we look alike, it will remain a mystery. I can just imagine, a hundred years or so down the line a bunch of historians trying to find out which Selassie brother actually fought for the chieftainship, it will be one of history's mysteries. Make sure you do not get bruised, for history purposes of course.' Apollo said to Alpha in jest and good humor as the brothers headed back to the Zambiya' s house to rest for the night.

They were sure the man and his brothers held no ill will towards them. The vision to the 4 brothers had been like giving people with unstable beliefs a hope making them to become completely fanatical, and once people had a firm belief they are willing to die for it. So right now for the triplets, there was no safer house than the Elk tribe's chief house.

When the sun rose, the moisture in the forest turned into a thick white fog, shrouding the forest in a milky white color. The morning wind could not disperse the fog, but it awakened countless birds.

A new day had come and with it the fight that would be later called by Zumayan historians as the challenge that build an empire was about to begin.

Alpha stood in the open space where tribal meetings and food distribution occurred. Opposite him was Zambiya, chief of the Elk tribe. A light shone in his eyes that gave away his desire to fight. Zambiya was a man whose blood roared at the idea of a fight. The sight of his enemies blood exited him, he submitted to the brothers because of the vision but he wanted to see if they were strong leaders worth following. To him that meant fighting him, it was why he had put forward that suggestion yesterday.

Alpha was silent, his brothers watched him with no worries for him, Alpha was a trained marine, a little skirmish with a tribal chief was nothing to him. Although the spar had told of how strong men were in this continent, but so were they. Alpha was strong and trained.

Alaric had told his brother to take the shortest time possible as they had other plans for the day.

In any pack there was always a leader, even in a pack full of alpha males, Alaric was naturally the leader of his brothers. He was the calm one, the voice of reason and decision. His brothers loved and respected him to make the correct judgement call, sometimes when no other decision could be made he made the most appropriate choice for them. Alpha was a soldier, even before he became one. He yearned for the battlefield and needed to know his brother's had his back always. Apollo the adventurous brother. He needed the reassurance of always having a home with his brothers to feel free to explore. It was why they had always wanted to form a family together, each of their characters complimented each other as they made up for each other's weakness. They had always considered themselves as part of a whole.

All the tribal men were gathered to watch the fight. At the shout of a tribal warrior, Zambiya moved like lightning to wrestle Alpha to the ground. Zambiya had found out fighting without weapons was easiest when the opponent was on the ground.

However, Alpha was well trained in mixed martial arts and Krav Maga, he used his expertise in both fighting styles to subdue his opponent. However, Zambiya was a warrior who was quick to learn his enemy's movements and somehow integrate them to suit him as he defended. It was a thrilling fight scene. A mixture of modern fighting and ancient savagery. It was a no holds-barred hand to hand combat that even Alpha felt thrilling.
