"Please! stop.."
yelling could be heard through the thin walls of the mansion. The seven year old girl could barley manage to block out the sounds of the screams on her maid undergoing cruel torture.
"It's all my fault, why am I still here.. I should have died instead of my mother, then everyone could be happy. I'm not needed nor am I loved. Evelyn probably doing this out of pure pity, but here I am letting her take on my pain."
*BANG*
Sylvia finds herself waking up from a dreamlike nightmare in golden carriage, hitting her head on the carriage window.
"Where am I-"
but before she could even finish her own sentence she remembered.
"Right.. I'm on my way to the imperial palace.. I hate these types of carriages, it's to much.. what's the word.. gold, it hurts my eyes"
Sylvia says while squinting trying as hard as she can to keep her eyes open and preventing them from shutting closed.
"I haven't had that nightmare in a long time, it seems that being in this box with wheels comes with a price of nostalgia…"
Sylvia says to herself keeping her voice low, otherwise the driver just might hear and think she's going crazy, talking to herself.
Sylvia sighs
"I wonder if Evelyn is all right.. I haven't seen her since 'she' passed. After 'she' left this world I distanced myself from everyone including Evelyn, but I guess it's not like I had any close friends anyways."
Sylvia mutters.
Sylvia decided not to think as negatively as she is doing now so she soon places her elbow on the carriage with her chin rested in her palm. As Sylvia wished and hoped for; time went by in a flash, it's almost as if when she had blinked for a second then opened her eyes she found herself in front of a palace ten times bigger then something she'll ever live in, even if her father and fiancés power and wealth was combined nothing could overcome the royals and their wealth.
"Damn, it's been quite a while since I've been here.. let's hope my etiquette and formalities haven't rusted, or else I'm screwed and might as well just be fed to the dogs.."
Sylvia's humor was always dark for no particular reason. So having said such a cruel sentence she chuckled to herself in satisfaction.
"It seems my jokes haven't rusted though, even after isolating myself in a small home in the countryside and not having any human company I still am quite the comedian."
Sylvia chuckles and finds herself placing her palm into the knights palm, who followed her carriage just in case of anything, helping her find her step out of the carriage.
[Shit, that was a little too automatic,]
Sylvia thought to herself.
[I could have gotten out myself, guess I'm just way too used to getting help.]
She thought once more while pulling her hand from the knights in a quick movement with a half zoned out and half disgusted face, but she quickly came back to her senses and put back the cold demeanor she wore when communicating with others.
However it wasn't quick enough and the knight had spotted the look on her face before anything, but of course it wouldn't, how would it pass the prince's closest, and right hand man.
"I apologize Lady Sylvia if in any shape or form I've made you feel uncomfortable. I was just told by the prince himself to treat you as if you were royalty. Please feel free to humble me if I step out of line again."
The knight quickly stated, as if he's used to dealing with annoying nobles.
"N-no, that's not, never mind."
Sylvia cuts herself off and begins to walk to the palace doors, walking towards the entrance.
"Fuuccckkkk, I really don't want to be here.."
Sylvia sputters out with a hint of regret on her troubled face.
"Well, it was coming sooner or later anyways.."
Sylvia this time says with a full on gulp of confidence.
