Like Son like Father.

"haaaaaaahhhh.."

The young girl sighs with all of her breath, laying on probably one of the softest beds you'd see out there. The very opposite of her own bed. In a room full of space with lots of decorations, a room any girl would wish for. A room in the imperial palace.

"It looks like the emperor plans on keeping me at the palace. I wonder for how long? I hope I can get back soon. I left my bed a mess, dirty dishes left to be cleaned, a floor to be swept-"

"i-its and honor to meet you!"

A high pitched voice lowly exclaims with the door quickly opening.

"huuh?"

In shock, Sylvia says sounding way too confused, as always

before Sylvia could even finish her day-dream she had been interrupted by a girl; even younger then her, no older then a 12 year old, no taller then a 9 year old.

[REALLY?? The emperor started taking children in?! I always knew he was in to that..]

"And you are?"

Sylvia says after clearing her mind of such unnecessary thoughts.

"o-oh I'll be y-your maid for your stay. My name is Claire, and I'll do my best to serve you in any way possible!" she says, in the same tone and manner as before.

"If there's anything you'd like, please demand for it right away! It's my job to serve you. Especially since you're working so hard to purify all darkened mama stones!"

"well.. umm.." Sylvia whispers under her warm breath.

[I should probably clarify that I've stopped purifying mana stones for the empire every since she died..]

"Hey you know that-"

But before she could even finished her sentence she was interrupted once again

"I wanted to thank you. Many people from our empire has wanted to thank you."

[ Man this girl just keeps talking.. she won't even let me explain. Such a pain.]

Sylvia giving up, not even caring, rolls her eyes and just stares at the scenery from afar.

"it's been tough for our empire. You see, since I was a child I was always loved by parents. I've always had a normal, loving life but soon came the demons. All the demons powering up and attacking slowly, one by one by feeding of off mana stones. That was one problem. But then when they had started to form groups and attack small villages. That was another. They terrorized us and ruined our lives. In the end I was the only one to survive from my hometown. I lost faith in everyone and everything wandering endlessly on how'd I'd make it through life, but one day I heard of you!"

The young girl pours out her heart endlessly.

And soon Sylvia catches interest, facing her way and listens to her story.

The maid continues..

"Sylvia Valadez, here to save our broken kingdom after her father sadly passing away. Finding all darkened mana stones that the demons feed on. She purifies mana into light! Hope! And safety. We all feel safe. It's because of you that I'm here anyways."

it goes silent

This time Sylvia starts the conversation

"hey.. what do you mean by that? that it's because of me that your here?"

The young girls eyes spark up, exited to know that Sylvia was actually listening.

"The prince! He brought me here. I worked selling newspapers. And when I got the chance I would steal all sorts of newspapers that had your name in it. The prince had spotted me ( and your name ) and said I reminded him of you."

The young girl, Claire slightly blushes

"He said my determination. It was similar to yours."

Sylvia's mouth was left wide open.

[ So Abel brought her here? Like son like father I guess. ]

"He said that?"

Sylvia asked but later regretted..

"Mhm! He also told me stories about you. Both childhood and adult stories. oohhh and the ones with your fiancé! He also brought up some girl. A name I didn't recognize I think her name was 'Sofia? Sofia Viotto?'"

Sylvia freezed. She had started to grit her innocent teeth who had done nothing but help her throughout life.

The young girl not even realizing continued to speak

"I heard that viotto means life! Did you know that? Anyways whoever she is, it doesn't seem like she was a good person. Whenever the prince would tell stories with her in it, it always sounded as if she was trying to steal your fiancé, but of course somehow you won him over and kept him! So romantic!!"

The young girl said ignorantly with a smile on her face. Much more confidently than before when she had rushed in the room. She might've been happy at the moment but someone else wasn't having it

"she sounds like a home wreck-"

And this time, the one interrupted was Claire.

"ENOUGH!"

Sylvia yells at the top of her lungs. Her fist tightens and the grip on her bite had gotten much worse, to the point of where you could hear her teeth cracking.

The maid freezed in her track of shock. She rapid got to the ground and started apologizing not knowing what she did wrong. But with her shaky voice and watery eyes Sylvia couldn't stay mad for long. The poor girl was still a child and didn't know anything but stereotypical fairytales.

Sylvia regained her composure and loudly sighed.

"Get up."

The maid had gotten up

"I wanna go on a walk; let's go to the garden, Claire"

Sylvia says in the nicest tone, possible for her.

And it worked. Claire sprung up with a twist. A total 180 in her whole mood.

"Yes ma'am! Let's get you dressed"

"Huh? No no I'm good with what I have on right now"

"No miss you must change, it's cold out, so there's a possibility that you might get sick"

"I don't think it's necessary"

Claire started walking towards Sylvia at a fasted pace.

Sylvia not having enough time to object any further gave in to her new temporally maid…
