As night descended, the villa glowed brightly, showcasing its beauty through the illumination.
The lifeless body had already been cleaned up, and Frank's injury had been treated, no longer posing a serious problem.
Presently, Frank sat on the sofa, wearing an expressionless face while his hand remained wrapped in bandages. An hour ago, he had covertly prepared five million dollars and instructed the reorganized bodyguards to stay away from the villa. After all, he was still the leader of a criminal organization.
Naturally, Frank wouldn't reveal that his daughter was upstairs, sleeping with a stranger. He was awaiting the delivery of money downstairs. The villa had been quiet since yesterday, and even if someone was outside, they should have been able to hear the voices from upstairs, despite any attempts to cover them up.
The voices from upstairs gradually subsided, and after a while, Stephen descended the stairs carrying a bag, having taken a shower.
Frank, who had maintained an expressionless demeanor, instantly greeted Stephen with a smile and expressed his enthusiasm. From his posture, it seemed he wanted to inquire whether Stephen was satisfied with his daughter.
"Thank you for saving my life today, sir. I've prepared something for you," Frank pushed the box toward him and thanked him sincerely.
Stephen was slightly taken aback and asked with a smile, "Are you really giving this to me?"
"Absolutely," Frank nodded affirmatively.
"Well, well, you truly deserve to be a gangster," Stephen applauded in admiration. "Since you're so open and straightforward, I'll be straight with you too. I won't take Helena away. I'll return when I need something from her. I'm not interested in protecting you every day, and you're not qualified enough to have my constant presence. So, it would be best for you to carefully consider the situation before troubling me again. Understand?"
Taking advantage of these circumstances was acceptable, as it would protect Frank from harm and potentially help him eliminate competitors and expand his power. However, he now had to thoroughly ponder the situation and the limited opportunities.
Frank had initially entertained this idea, but now that Stephen had voiced it, how could he not understand? Naturally, he nodded repeatedly to assure him.
He didn't care who Stephen was at the moment, nor did he care about sacrificing his daughter. All he thought about was which competitor he should target first and which opponent could maximize his own interests.
Frank didn't care, and even Stephen didn't care.
Eventually, Stephen left in the car arranged by Frank, carrying bags full of money and boxes containing the uniform.
Hearing the sound of the key turning in the door, Felicity, who had just finished showering, came to greet him.
"Are these clothes for the empress? I really liked how you greeted me today, but in the future, I should dress more appropriately, just in case I bring someone back," Stephen teased.
"You came back just as I stepped out of the bath. Besides, who could you bring here?" Felicity casually explained, curiously observing what he carried in his hands. "What's this?"
Stephen brought the items into the bedroom and replied as he walked, "The bag contains Laurel's uniform, and the other bag has something for you."
"For me?" Felicity opened the box joyfully to see what Stephen had given her, but as soon as she opened it, she let out a scream and quickly shut it, rushing into the bedroom like a whirlwind. "Where did you get so much money? Did you do something illegal...dangerous?"
"Don't worry, someone else gave it to me," Stephen smiled.
"Someone else gave it to you? Who would give you so much money for no reason? And...how much is in there?" Felicity asked in astonishment.
Stephen pondered for a moment. "I had temporarily taken up a job, and this is a reward for my hard work. I have no need for the money, so...you're my girlfriend, and you can spend it however you like. I really don't know the exact amount. I didn't ask. You can check for yourself. Go ahead."
Upon hearing that it was a reward for work, Felicity temporarily set aside her curiosity and checked. Five million! A whole five million! She had never seen so much money in her life. Felicity wanted to ask what kind of work paid five million, but she decided against it.
Her boyfriend was no ordinary person, and this might be a bonus from some secret mission. Felicity didn't worship money, but she was happy that her boyfriend had given her five million without question. Thanks to Stephen's strong physique, Felicity had gained a deeper understanding of him, allowing her to experience a more luxurious lifestyle.
Felicity planned to take a day off the next day for shopping—bags, clothes, shoes, and more. However, when Stephen inquired, he discovered she had already made arrangements. Felicity cheerfully said, "Let's find a bigger and better house. Climbing stairs every day is exhausting, and the current space is too small. Besides, I'm optimistic that I can provide more assistance to you and Laurel in the future. I can buy two houses, by the way. The remaining money can be kept in reserve in case of emergencies."
Felicity had planned everything, leaving Stephen with little to say.
As Felicity headed out for work, Stephen grabbed the uniform he had prepared for Laurel and planned to visit her new home, where she had recently moved. Just as he was about to leave, he heard a knock on the door.
Did Felicity forget something?
Stephen casually opened the door and was surprised to find a tall woman dressed in a black dress and stockings, wearing a small smile. "It was quite difficult for me to find you."
"Selina Kyle?"
Stephen looked at Catwoman unexpectedly and suddenly realized why she had come here.
