Chapter 115 Face Slapping
No one was injured, and Stephen was still trapped within the electronic fence, unable to escape. Barry Allen took the opportunity to survey the surroundings and determine the type of explosives Stephen had used.
However, his inspection yielded nothing. "Bombs typically have distinctive markings, crimped wires, and broken components. Once I analyze them, I can determine their complexity, but... I didn't find any oxidizers present. This situation is identical to the one with bomb girl Bette!"
Cisco Raymond continued, "Stephen took Bette away! Is she here as well? I will find her!"
"No, Cisco," Barry Allen shook his head. "Bette's ability transforms into an explosive upon contact and detonates. It's impossible for her to have caused the explosion just now in front of all of us."
"No one can plant a bomb without me noticing, except... the speedster," Oliver Queen said, feeling embarrassed as he glanced at Stephen.
"The trap remains intact; he can't escape!" Cisco checked and curiously asked Stephen, "How did you do it? And why did you purposely avoid hurting anyone or damaging the trap?"
"Didn't I mention this was just a small gift," Stephen said with a faint smile. "As for why it didn't cause harm or damage the trap, the reason is even simpler."
"No, but there's no way to face-slap."
"Are you implying that you have a way to get out? It's impossible!" Harrison Wells slumped, looking somewhat relieved.
"It seems you still don't understand what despair truly means."
Stephen's entire body began to emit a golden light.
"Speed Force? No, this isn't the Speed Force," Barry Allen exclaimed in surprise.
"This is... divine power!" Stephen's voice trailed off as he struck the electronic barrier directly with his fist.
Boom!
The violent shaking instantly caused a few cracks to appear in the electronic barrier.
"This, this is impossible! The energy of this electronic barrier is..." Cisco Raymond couldn't finish his sentence before Stephen raised the corner of his mouth and punched again.
The electronic barrier shattered silently, like glass, in an instant.
Stephen slowly raised his foot and stepped out.
"Get away!" Witnessing Stephen effortlessly shatter the electronic barrier and escape the trap, Oliver Queen shouted and rushed toward him with a bow. Although his arrows had just been deflected, he was confident in his skills.
So he pushed toward Stephen, raising his leg for a sideways kick.
"The standard fighting skills of the League of Assassins," Stephen chuckled, regaining his supernatural abilities as he unleashed his incredible Speed Force.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
Red lightning clashed and struck at Oliver Queen. Despite Stephen using only the average strength of an ordinary man, his fast and relentless attacks caused Oliver Queen to groan. He felt as if he were being surrounded by countless assailants, getting hit from all directions.
Snapped!
Oliver Queen slumped to the ground, coughing up blood.
"How does the taste of the Thousand Heavenly Demon Meteor Fist feel?" Stephen taunted Oliver Queen, who had endured a barrage of hundreds of punches in an instant. "I hope you can keep up with protecting your mother and sister."
"No..."
Oliver Queen shouted anxiously, but Stephen had transformed into red lightning and disappeared.
"Caitlin!"
Cisco Ramon realized that Caitlin was missing.
They had failed, utterly failed. Not only did they fail to capture Stephen, but they were now facing his revenge.
"Oliver, I..." Barry Allen desperately wanted to apologize to Oliver Queen.
Oliver Queen shook his head. "I have to return to Star City."
"I understand. I will... I will regain my speed as soon as possible. Caitlin and your family will be safe!" Barry Allen comforted, his words filled with bitterness.
Such words of comfort felt weak and hollow.
Oliver Queen didn't say much. He turned around and rushed out. He had to, he must hurry back to Star City to protect his mother and sister.
Initially, Barry Allen had intended to seek Oliver Queen's help in saving Central City, but now Oliver Queen was entangled in the situation and had left. Caitlin had been captured as well. The crisis had not been resolved; it had only grown more challenging.
"Huh!"
A flash of red, and Stephen appeared.
Caitlin Snow found herself in an unfamiliar, transparent single prison, controlled by an unfamiliar technology.
"My clothes..." Caitlin screamed and huddled down to cover herself.
"Just making sure you're not carrying any tracking devices on you." Stephen threw Caitlin's clothes outside Central City. If there were any trackers, they would be rendered useless.
"Stephen, we're friends!" Caitlin pleaded with Stephen.
"You want to imprison me, so I'll imprison you. It's fair and just." Stephen looked at Caitlin and smiled. "We're friends, so no matter what we do, we should forgive each other. I forgive you because your ideals don't want to capture me, so you should be able to forgive my desire to capture you!"
"But..." Caitlin tried to say more, but Stephen was gone.
The prison gate slowly closed, leaving Caitlin squatting in the cell, looking at the cold and silent surroundings, lost in thought.
On the highway between Central City and Star City.
Oliver Queen's Bike speed reached 200 miles, almost like a speeding sports car. Fortunately, there weren't many cars on the road. His driving skills were good, so he didn't cause any trouble, except for the occasional curse from other drivers. As he drove, Oliver Queen eagerly contacted his assistant.
Yes!
After all, how can a superhero work without an assistant?
John Diggle, aka the driver/bodyguard, was originally a veteran soldier and later became a professional bodyguard in a security company. When Oliver Queen returned, his mother hired him to ensure Oliver's safety. After discovering Oliver Queen's true identity, he became his assistant.
Initially, he worked as a driver or a bodyguard, but gradually, he became a core member of the Green Arrow team, codenamed Sparta. However, his greatest asset wasn't just becoming Sparta or his almost-marriage to his sister-in-law; it was the fact that his wife became the leader of A.R.G.U.S. after Amanda Waller's death.
That support, that background, it was leverage!
