Chapter 155 Worthless!!!
Seeing the classic Superman donning his iconic attire had become something of an obsession for Stephen. Turning his attention to Lex Luthor, the young group president had reluctantly shaved his head. Why would it be such a challenge to put on underwear? Stephen pondered, his gaze fixed on Superman. Should he assist him?
As Stephen's eyes shifted, Superman sensed an unexplainable foreboding. Just as he was about to take action, a distant sound caught his attention, prompting him to turn and peer into the sky. Before long, a colossal object appeared, a Krypton spacecraft, notably larger than Faora's.
"The enemy has five seconds to arrive on the battlefield!" Stephen declared, his lips curling into a grin.
With that, the human soldiers behind him swiftly raised their weapons and prepared for battle. The Krypton spacecraft hung in the air, and two smaller vessels shot out into the distance with a whooshing sound. Eventually, the Krypton spacecraft touched down.
A staircase extended, and several black-armored soldiers disembarked. With a click, the black-helmeted warriors retracted their helmets, revealing similar to Faora's glass-covered helmets.
One figure, in particular, caught their attention – a middle-aged man with sharply chiseled cheeks, a facial scar, and a goatee. His presence exuded authority, and his demeanor was imposing.
The sudden appearance of so many extraterrestrial beings left the human soldiers on edge. Zod's gaze lingered momentarily on Faora, not far away, before settling on Superman and Stephen with an air of seriousness and coldness.
"Did you kill Faora?" Zod's voice was harsh and cold.
Stephen raised a finger in response. The observers expected him to speak, but he simply said the word '一.'
Zod paused briefly, and Stephen shifted his finger to the person behind him.
"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Subtract Faora, who is offline, and two have piloted the spacecraft here to locate the central codex in Kansas," Stephen replied casually.
Zod and Superman's expressions changed instantly. "You know how many of us there are?" Zod inquired in surprise.
"How dare you send someone to find my mother?" Superman retorted angrily, his gaze locked on Zod.
"Go and rescue them. Your mother, Martha, wouldn't be able to hold out much longer," Stephen urged Superman.
Superman flew off with a loud whoosh.
Zod had no intention of pursuing him. Instead, he fixed a cold stare on Stephen and turned slightly. "Proceed to activate the World Engine."
The two Kryptonians returned to their spacecraft, which began to ascend. A fierce wind howled, and the human camp lowered their heads to shield themselves. General Swanwick stared at the tumult and demanded, "What are they planning? What is this World Engine?"
"It's a technology that can alter Earth's ecological environment to make it suitable for Kryptonian survival," Stephen explained calmly as the wind whirled around him, his voice surprisingly clear.
"What?" General Swanwick exploded in anger. Changing Earth's environment would be catastrophic!
"Immediately, stop them!" General Swanwick yelled, and the order was quickly relayed. Soon after, warplanes took off to pursue the Kryptonians.
"Gideon, instruct them to come closer and prepare for the retrieval of the casualties," Stephen said with a chuckle, activating his weather-controlling ability. In an instant, the ferocious winds subsided.
Stephen gestured toward the assembly of Kryptonians. "I'm not singling anyone out, but I need to make one thing clear—everyone here is utterly worthless!"
General Swanwick, taken aback by Stephen's dismissive comment about the aliens, couldn't help but turn to Lois. "Doesn't he seem overly arrogant to call them all worthless in that tone? Why does it feel so satisfying though?"
General Zod sneered in response, and in an instant, the Kryptonians accompanying him rushed forward.
Da Da Da, Da Da Da.
Gunfire erupted, but it was evident that this level of attack was entirely ineffective. The five Kryptonians scattered through the crowd with the grace of tigers among sheep. Zod locked his gaze on Stephen, approaching him with measured steps, radiating confidence, disdain, and anger.
"You've killed my adjutant, and now you have the right to die by my hands," Zod declared, his voice resolute as he lunged at Stephen.
Zod's punch was swift and powerful, but Stephen deftly evaded it, then countered with a fierce blow to Zod's lower abdomen.
Boom!
Zod felt a colossal force propelling him forward, sending him flying several kilometers before coming to a halt. His armor displayed visible cracks from the impact. He groaned and looked up, only to find Stephen right in front of him.
Startled, Zod attempted another attack, but he missed once more and received a devastating upper cut to the chin, sending him soaring into the sky.
As Stephen shielded his eyes with one hand and watched Zod ascend, lightning crackled around his body.
Huh!
In the blink of an eye, Kryptonians, who were engaged in combat with a human soldier fell unconscious. The soldier was bewildered as their opponent vanished, but he soon spotted a streak of yellow lightning dashing through the battlefield. Like synchronized puppets on strings, the Kryptonians converged at the same location.
Boom!
Zod plummeted from the sky, crashing heavily to the ground, with five of his fellow Krypton warriors lying alongside him.
With an air of god-like composure, Stephen descended gracefully, bathed in the sun's radiant attention.
He surveyed Zod and the other Kryptonians, his lips curling into a taunting smile. "Is there no one worthy of challenging me?"
Silence prevailed, and it became apparent that no one dared to confront him.
Stephen's scornful remark sent Zod into a rage. With a furious roar, he gripped his armor and tore it away, akin to Faora's attire. The sun's rays bathed them, and the Kryptonians could feel changes within them as they began to tremble, emitting pained hums.
They were poised to absorb the sun's energy to increase their strength.
