Chapter 165 It's a Bird... It's a Plane... No It's Punching Bag

...

The arrival of Wonder Woman immediately alleviated Superman's pressure.

Diana leaped towards Doomsday, her left shield striking Doomsday's leg, toppling it to the ground. With her right hand wielding the Hephaestus Sword, she delivered a powerful chop.

"Slash!"

A lengthy scar appeared on Doomsday's leg and Superman descended from the air, slamming Doomsday's face and causing it to crash to the ground.

But the wound healed instantly.

Superman was hit with Doomsday's heat sight, it stood up, grabbing an abandoned car and hurling it at Diana. The car, like a toy in its hands, appeared colossal to Diana.

The Hephaestus Sword was raised.

The car split in two, and Diana instantly rushed forward.

Diana and Superman engaged in a fierce battle against Doomsday.

Meanwhile, Batman, armed with a similar Batarang as in the movie, was no more effective this time due to the absence of Kryptonite.

While Batman couldn't directly assist in fighting Doomsday, he didn't remain idle, coming over to join Stephen. Stephen, having already risen from the ground, observed the intense battle in the distance with interest.

"Take a seat." Stephen casually invited as Batman approached.

Batman paused before sitting down beside Stephen. "Who is that woman?"

"Oh, Her. She is Wonder Woman, also the new God of War." Stephen smiled lightly.

"God?" Batman was shocked. "Are there really gods?"

"Absolutely. This world is much more intriguing than you know," Stephen explained.

"So, are you a god too?" Batman inquired.

"Me? I'm not a god, nor am I interested in becoming one." Stephen shook his head and looked at Batman. "Wonder Woman is an old god, but the arrival of New Gods on Earth in the future will be interesting. I suggest you upgrade your equipment, perhaps acquire some decent suits of armor. If you're interested, I can help you."

"What if they can't handle this monster?" Batman, though surprised by the discussion of old and new gods, wanted to focus on the immediate issue. "I've learned about Kryptonians from LexCorp. Superman mentioned that this monster originates from their planet's technology, so..."

Before Batman could finish his sentence, Alfred's voice came through the headphones. The butler, assisting Batman from the Batcave, intercepted an important message.

He knew Stephen had cooperated with the military before and was aware of their planned actions.

"You-- Did you create such a monster capable of destroying the world just to make Superman wear underwear?" Batman stared at Stephen with wide eyes.

Stephen shrugged noncommittally. "To be honest, I haven't thought of any entertaining plans for you at the moment. When I do, I'll find you."

"You're crazier than the craziest person I know!" Batman remarked quietly.

"Joker?" Stephen smiled casually.

Batman was about to respond with deep thought when a yellow lightning flash appeared in the distance.

Huh! Swoosh!!

Dust filled the air.

Batman waved, coughed twice, and saw a man in a red uniform standing before him.

"Who's this again?" Batman muttered.

"Bruh! Why are you even here? joining the fun?" Stephen lazily asked The Flash, Barry Allen, who had also arrived.

Indeed, Barry Allen had no significant adversaries after the demise of the Reverse Flash. He refrained from venturing into Earth II and refrained from creating flashpoints. However, witnessing the colossal disturbance in Metropolis, he couldn't stand idly by.

A hero is a stick, ready to hit wherever need it.

Barry Allen cast a glance at Stephen and Batman, chose not to speak, turned around, and swiftly rushed towards Doomsday.

The yellow lightning enveloping Doomsday left Superman and Diana momentarily stunned. The familiarity of the yellow lightning struck a chord with Superman, and the astonishing speed invoked thoughts of someone specific for Diana.

This must be The Flash that Stephen mentioned upon his departure, right?

Circling around, the lightning generated by The Flash's rapid running gradually concentrated in his hand. He extended his arm to hurl it towards Doomsday, but Doomsday reacted unexpectedly.

"Uh..." The Flash's neck was instantly ensnared.

His eyes widened in horror—how could it keep up with his speed? Doomsday seized The Flash, relentlessly smashing him onto the ground.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Several consecutive blows later, Doomsday flung The Flash aside.

Boom.

The Flash landed, sliding far before finally coming to a stop. The bones throughout his body seemed on the verge of breaking, leaving him unable to rise.

"As always, the punching bag doesn't disappoint."

"Oh, it seems The Fastest Man came here to offer himself to Doomsday! Bravo!"

Stephen applauded and laughed, glancing towards Batman. "If one day he asks about your super ability, remember to tell him it's being rich."

Batman, appearing bewildered, stood up as if preparing to depart. He intended to thwart the military's attempt to capture Superman's adoptive mother, Martha.

Not solely because his own mother bore the name Martha, but also because he understood Martha's significance to Superman. Even if the military's plan succeeded, what would happen next?

No one appreciates being threatened, especially Superman, who has nearly become a subject of research or an alien.

"Superman, can you hear me? I'm General Swanwick. I'm about to drop an item. I hope you can use it against Doomsday." A fighter jet distanced itself, and simultaneously, a broadcast echoed the voice of General Swanwick.

The sound, though not as resonant as passionate music, was sufficient for everyone to hear.

Superman raised his gaze towards the plane, witnessing a metal box descending. Was it kryptonite, or perhaps a secret weapon against Doomsday? Superman swiftly flew to catch the box, landing with a thud before eagerly opening it.

"..."

Superman's face turned an unsightly shade of blue, his hands clenched, eyes ablaze with frustration.

It was a pair of red underwear.

"Ms. Martha Kent truly hopes you can become a hero." General Swanwick's voice emanated from the plane once more.

"Bastard!" Superman instantly roared from the fighter jet.

With a click, Superman's bare hands removed the glass cover of the plane. Under the horrified gaze of the crew, Superman shouted towards the communication facility. "You dare to threaten me with my mother!"

"Superman, I hope you understand the situation."

"If Doomsday cannot be resolved, everything may be destroyed—the United States, the world, me... and Miss Martha," General Swanwick calmly stated.
