Chapter twenty three.

Everyone gasped, "so she was the thief!"

Anna turned to look at everyone in horror, she was also shocked, very shocked that she became tongue tied, "no, no, no. How could this be?" Maddie, on the other side did not know what to say. "You slut, you set me up!" 

Elena laughed, "a while ago you were shouting like a parrot claiming I am the thief, now here you are, saying that I set you up," as she spoke she took slow and deliberate steps towards Anna, "you are not that important to me."

"How dare you!" Maddie spoke.

Rita decided to join in the fun, "how stupid can you be, birds of the same feathers, flock together," she stood beside Elena and said, "you guys just don't know when to quit. You were so sure that Elena was the thief, and now that you are caught, you still want to say that she set you up. Must you stoop so low?"

"If it's not her, then..." Maddie still wanted to bring her down but Anna felt like it wasn't going to work.

Anna turned to the waitress, "you are the one who said you saw Elena take the watch, are you the one who kept it in my bag?"

The waitress started shaking, if she knew things would turn this way, she would have listened to her friend and stayed away from rich people's business, "Ma'am, you..."

Before she could finish speaking, she felt a stinging pain on her right cheek, "you thief! How dare you frame me." 

Her fingers and legs were shaking that she could not stay still, her right hand was holding her left cheek and tears started streaming down her face, "I was told to put it there by one of your friend,"

"Shut the fuck up! You want to say that one of my friends told you to put someone's watch in my handbag, I trust my friends!" Anna's face was full of heartache.

"Why do you keep cutting her off, just let her say the name of the one who told her to do it!" Kalen had already gotten impatient, "who sent you to steal my watch!"

"I don't know her name, but I know her face." she turned around as if looking for the person and then stopped and pointed in the direction, "it was her."

Everyone turned around to see who it was, "when did I tell you to do that!"

"Madam, I am so sorry, I thought it will go as planned since Miss Elena has the same watch." she went down on her knees, "please, don't hurt my family."

Her statement was very clear, she was threatened to do it, "Jennifer, how could you? Is it because I couldn't get the job for you at my fiancé's company?"

Jennifer, who was the accused, became furious, "how and when did I threaten you! How dare you put a blame on me? Who paid you to do this!" 

Maddie and Anna saw this as the right moment to clear their name, with a betrayed expression Anna said, "did you really have to frame me? I have been nothing but good to you, or, was it a must for you to work at my fiancé's company?"

It all became clear that she had a motive and reason to frame Anna, "I did not do it, she is framing me."

"How can I believe after this, ever since your family's business has been going down the drain, we have been nothing but supportive to you, is this how you pay our kindness!?" Maddie spoke up.

"Maddie, this was your idea. You said we should frame Elena the way we framed Sarah." Jennifer believed that this was all Maddie and Anna's plan B. They have done this before, once your family starts becoming bankrupt they look for a way to remove you from their group. At first she thought they wouldn't do that to her, because she had been supporting them all the time, but who knew they would turn against her with the first chance they got! She had been a fool, her father told her to fix the issue with Elena but due to her pride she ignored it. Or was it Elena who planned all this? The thought disappeared the moment it appeared. "Shut up Jennifer, now that you were caught, you want to put the blame on us. Maybe you are just envious because Damian didn't love you and will never love you, after you tried your best to seduce him."
