Alistair had driven away but his conscience pricked him so he turned back. "What are you doing here!?" She pointed a finger at him in surprise. He had driven off so how was he here?
Alistair ignored her and took fast strides to the other side of his car. He opened the door and went to carry her amidst her shouts of protest.
"Let me go! Let me go!" Arianna screamed as he dumped her on the seat. "You will stay put or I'll tie your hands together with that." He pointed to his tie which was on the back seat
Arianna rolled her eyes and immediately composed herself. She had any other choice. He could decide not to take her home again.
Alistair turned around to enter the car.
"Where are you headed?" He asked as he started the ignition.
"The second avenue," She said, looking away. She didn't want to start any conversation with him.
The second avenue was a thirty minutes ride from there. Silence hung over them like a cloak. Alistair was feeling weird so he decided to ask her.
"Why do you have bruises on your skin? What happened?" He asked as he negotiated a bend.
"I'm a serial killer, I just murdered a human. The person proved stubborn hence the bruises" She replied sarcastically. Her life wasn't his business in any way.
Alistair decided to put her on the edge also.
"Well I am a human trafficker, I sell women's body parts. You would make a good bargain" He said with a sly grin. Ariana gasped as she gave him a sharp stare.
"I'm just joking," He said and the silence was revitalized. "It seems she wants to keep it to herself. I'll leave her to it then" he continued driving on.
They had almost gotten to her house. The lights on the porch were on. Arianna felt a chill in her spine as she approached home.
This home was once her safe habitation however in one night, it had become her nightmare. She feared coming home now but there was no choice.
"Drop me here," She said faintly with a flurry of emotions coursing through her. Alistair parked to a side as she came down without waiting for him.
" Aren't you going to say thank you or even introduce yourself?" He alighted and studied her as she adjusted her cloth and moved closer to the gate. "I'm sure you no mine already. I mean who doesn't know me… A…" he was cut short by her tirade
"Just because you forced a ride on me, doesn't mean you are forgiven neither does it mean i will tell you my name. Goodnight, you egoistical jerk!" Ariana pressed a card to the entrance to gain access inside. It opened for her. She looked back at him and slammed the door in his face.
Alistair smiled and entered his car. "She has a nasty temper but she's so beautiful." He thought to himself and drove off leaving trails of dust in the air.
Arianna ran quickly in the direction of the house in fear. Her aunt would definitely rant on and on about how she was a bad child again tonight.
She tiptoed to the back door and locked the door gently. Since the house was dark, it meant everyone had gone to bed. She heaved a sigh of relief and turned to move in the direction of her room when the chandelier above her lit up with sparkling lights.
"Where are you coming from by this time of the night?" Her aunt's stern voice stopped her tracks. She swallowed hard. "Witch" she cursed silently.
Arianna had thought everyone, including her aunt Vanessa, had gone to bed but here she was standing before her and asking her all sorts of questions non-stop.
"Who was the young man who dropped you off?" Vanessa moved closer to Arianna. Arianna was surprised. How did her aunt know that someone dropped her off? Was she stalking her now?
Vanessa continued moving close to Arianna.
" Don't you have ears anymore? Did you look at the time?" Vanessa raised her voice high.
"I...I encountered something on the way here," She stuttered. She could speak however she liked with other people but immediately she entered their house, she always lost her voice. Her aunt could reduce her confidence to nothing.
Ariana felt her ears ring as the slap landed on her face. Vanessa's slaps were like stings. Her eyes were red. Tears slowly dropped on her face as she bit her lips to refrained herself from shouting at her.
"You probably went out with one of the boys in your class and now you appear in my house looking like a scumbag? Really, so you encountered something on your way here? Is that the latest lie in the book?" She yelled at the top of her voice.
She had had enough. Arianna couldn't stand here and watch this woman berate her like a child.
"I was almost raped and you tell me I went to have fun! What kind of mother are you?!" Ariana yelled at the top of her voice.
She felt another ringing slap at the other side of her cheeks. Her mind reeled from the impact of the slap. At this moment she couldn't stop the tears that flowed carelessly down her face.
"You really have some nerve! Speaking to me in that manner?! I think you should be shown your place in this house!" Her aunt bellowed at her.
"I guess I need to teach you some lessons. I've been slacking with you lately!" Vanessa pulled her by the ear to the punishment room.
"You will stay there until you learn your lessons!" Her aunt pushed her into the dark room and locked the door.
"Please don't leave me here" Arianna begged faintly. Her voice had lost that confidence again. She couldn't stay alone in this dark room for one more night. It haunted her dreams daily.
She was hungry and tired. She needed to eat and sleep. Arianna felt a whirling sensation as she collapsed on the floor. She fainted.
