Chapter 22: Heroic posture part 2
after the black mist covered the surroundings max was unable to see anything, not knowing what the black mist did he backflipped through the void and landed a great distance away.
" what is it ? " someone asked cautiously
"just attack!!" another person shouted
Dadadadadaddadada*
the mini gun sounded continuously, sophie didn't care if she could not see anything she just attacked, bullets spraying recklessly.
others also continued to attacked but no sound was heard from the mist and nothing seemed to be hit.
"shit, they escaped" someone eventually said after a few moments of shooting into the mist.
after this everyone stopped attacking, but they were still on guard.
" can anyone clear the mist"
" yea i got it"
" fuck that was close, how did the things even get so close to our camp"
" jean what happened to the traps you set around the camp"
" i don't know they did not set off "
" my defenses didn't work too"
" yea mine too, what happened?"
everyone started to relax and chat as someone was going forwards to clear the mist and in the corner a youth was mattering constantly "we are so fucked haha i knew it ".
pewww* swizzzz* swoosh**
suddenly the shadows burst out of the mist, rushing through the air, it was a fast raid.
" shit!! these fuckers"
" watch out !!" everyone was caught off guard by the sudden attack.
the shadows shot forwards, the leading shadow at the front.
the man who had step forward to clear the mist was caught off guard and with no time to react his head was sent flying off his head by long sharp claws.
dead.
the leading shadow was fast and after killing him it shot quickly to it's next target.
two more heads went flying and as it pounced towards sophie, she held her mini guard steadily in her heroic posture.
dadadadadadadadda*
the sound of the mini gun spraying out bullets was heard, the leading shadow span mid air, changing directions as it dodged, it launched at a man on the left side of sophie and swung it's sharp claws but the man quickly blocked.
sparks flying it kicked forwards onto the mans shield and bounced off it and speed towards sophie.
dadadadada* she quickly sprayed at it but the leading shadow swung it's claws super fast, as it swung it's claws in front of it, as it flew through the air towards sophie most of the bullets were cut down or reflected away.
puff* puff*
weird colored blood sprayed out of it as some bullets got between it's swings piercing through it's shoulders.
the leading shadow seemed willing to take damage in order to see the girls head flying.
dadadadada* the shots sprayed at it but none of them hit critical areas and most of them were blocked. sophie suddenly panicked, she could see her death right before her eyes.
dadada...da ... da... da* her mini gun suddenly stopped shooting,
cooldown she thought, she knew that she could not attack infinitely, when her Phanes energy got down to a certain level her weapon would cooldown if it was on continuous fire.
normally it did not matter as she could get cover or unlock a different weapon but now it was too late.
she was a goner, and to think she wanted be stronger and catch up to her older sister but now,
her heart beat started to beat at a fast pace, her blood pumped to her brain trying to think of a solution, it was too late to unlock anything now.
mist formed in her eyes,
as the shadow approached she could even smell it, the world seemed to slow down and she saw the hairs on it's hands as it swung it's claws at her.
she could see a weird liquid oozing off the claws as they sliced through the air to her.
her death was near, eyes closed waiting for death.
suddenly she felt her body in a warm embrace, hugged by strong arms her head pressed against a strong chest.
she wasn't dead yet, but how?
opening her eyes she found herself in the arms of a handsome youth with long flowing black hair, bright red eyes as deep as the ocean, and a bit of an evil air around his brows.
she was attracted to and drawn by his red eyes as if lost.
" max " she whispered
" your welcome " max said his voice bringing her out of her daze, she quickly escaped from his arms and blushed.
max was regretful he wanted her to stay in his arms for a moment longer, he could feel her charming curves press up against him and her round sexy ass up against his shaft.
max had retreated to a great distance after the mist and was standing on top of a tent so when the shadows suddenly attacked he had an overview of the whole battlefield. he saw the leading shadow kill three people before heading for sophie.
he watched it get close to her then her mini gun stopped working and when she closed her eyes he used his ability to suck her through the void, teleporting her away into his arms.
sophie raised her head and looked at max he was panting slightly and looked like saving her drained a great deal of his energy which made her even more grateful, she doesn't know why but could not look at him the same as she did before, before she wasn't affected by his handsome looks even though he was outstanding even better than most handsome man she had seen before.
but now she felt her heart jump when her eyes meet his deep red eyes.
max was indeed a bit drained, but not as drained as sophie thought, sending someone through the void was harder than himself void walking.
he could have just have shattered the void and let her be sucked in but if he did not guard her through the void then god knows were she would end up, she might even crush into the shades he sees when he void walks and die.
so max had to sent her through the void and spent more energy guiding her and protecting her in the void.
the two looked over the battlefield.
whilst the leading shadow bounced off the shield of the man it attacked as it launched at sophie the other shadows had caught up then and started attacking other people. instantly a battle broke out.
after the leading shadow swung it's claws at sophie it expected to see a head flying off but it's prey suddenly escaped through the void.
annoyed it launched at another person but levitating swords suddenly blocked it and a battle quickly broke out, sharks flying as it crashed with the swords.
however the shadow realized it could not break through in a short period of time and that the element of surprise had been lost, now they were out numbered.
the leading shadow quickly made hand gestures at the other shadows and dashed away back into the dispersing mist.
the other shadows quickly, retreated too and soon they had vanished into the forest.

a group of people were camping around a fire chatting and laughing appearing very relaxed.
a youth with a majestic looking sword by his side spoke
" can´t believe those losers died at the door, how many people do we have left?" he asked
the girl sitting next to him but at a distance just looked at him but did not reply, if max was here he would recognize her as the girl with the star devourer.
" 11 people died, we still have 289 people all together " a girl quickly said as if to please him.
the youth did not seem to care about her but was a bit annoyed that the girl next to him ignored him when he asked, but he couldn't do anything to her so he just continued to ask the girl who answered.
" jenny, use your radar to scan the area, see if there is a group near us"
the girl looked happy that he asked her and quickly used her ability,
" no there is no group around in my radar, but there are some creatures slowly moving towards us" she said quickly
" really ? they better get here quickly then, i want to slaughter them so i can get a nap "
" young master should we use the creatures to test this group and eliminate the weak ?" a slimy looking guy asked the youth.
" no, not right now, we still need them.
just hope that tomorrow we meet another group and find some more people for this to work"
the youth said, with that he grabbed his sword waiting to kill whatever was approaching their camp.
