Chapter 6

" Nothing," I replied, silently scolding myself for doing that.

"You're funny," Ray said out of the blue.

"Okay," I replied hesitantly. What was that supposed to mean?

Ray opened the door of his Supra for me. I awkwardly sat in the seat beside him. He turned the air conditioning on and a blast of cold air hit me. " You don't talk a lot," Ray noticed.

" I was just thinking," I replied.

" Oh, tell me what was on your mind just right now," Ray said.

I shot him a serious look and he nodded.
