When he got off work, he made a beeline for the most upscale grocery store in the area. He went straight to the butcher and told him that he was going to be making chateaubriand before ordering a 1-1/2 pound center-cut beef tenderloin. He went to the market and purchased baked potatoes, oyster onions, artichokes, and chicken salad components.

He got in his car and went to the neighborhood liquor store, where he placed an order for whisky and sherry. He went out and purchased more wine for the meal.
