The next time I woke up, I felt like weeping with joy. Lilia was there, standing in front of me. I tried leaping into her arms, burry my face into her ample bosom, but I couldn’t. It’s almost as if I was watching a record.
Later on I realized what was happening. Unlike with Verta the owner of the new body I moved into is still present. I’m unable to take control, and there is yet another problem.
The only reason I’m able to watch is a small amount of lightning that his body absorbed somehow. It would’ve been fine if that was all of it, but apparently that little bit of energy is what keeps my consciousness connected to the outside world. If it’s consumed I would probably go back to sleep.
I’m trapped as a spectator, but I at least was able to confirm that Lilia is safe. My previous predictions about this planet harboring a technologically advanced civilization were wrong. I don't know whether to be thankful for that or not.
