Swordsmanship of the Lightning King

Freya first brought up the passive skill that she gained after her job change.

[Swordsmanship of the Lightning King

It is a great path for a beginner Swordsman. The full power of this style can only be used with a Lightning Element Magic Sword. This Skill allows the player to embody the Sword Techniques and footwork of the Lightning King Sword style.

Effects:

i) +20% to Attack Damage and Speed with sword type weapons.

ii) +50% boost to lightning based sword attacks

iii) +20% Evasion bonus

iv) +10% Lightning Element Defense]

'This skill should help you learn a strong sword style.' Art spoke in her head. 'You shall start by learning the footwork at first and then advance to the sword techniques.'

Freya read the description and cursed her luck. Just a few hours ago, she had obtained a magic sword. Alas, it was a poison attribute and not a lightning attribute. This meant she would be unable to use the +50% attack boost. If only it had been a Lightning Element Magic Sword, but it was no use crying over something that could have been. So she brought up the second skill.

[Blade of Lightning

Type: Active

Rank: Rare

Description: The First skill of the Lightning King Sword Style. When activated, a bolt of lightning will be shot from your sword up to a distance of five meters. The bolt is deadly to enemies, especially effective against armored opponents. This skill can only be used with a lightning element Magic Sword.

Restriction: Lightning Element Magic Sword

Effect:

i) +100% Critical Damage to Armored opponents and +60% to non-armored opponents.

Duration: 20 Seconds.

Cooldown: 5 minutes.]

Reading the description of the second skill, she felt even more annoyed. What was the point of having such powerful skills if she couldn't even use them? While she was a powerful mage that was a talented Lightning mage, that didn't translate into magic swordsmanship.

From her knowledge, she knew magic weapons had two types. The first one was the one she possessed. A sword made with material of a specific attribute. That attribute manifested in the form of magic attacks with the weapon. This type of magic weapon drew power from the mana stored in the weapon that it recovered from the mana in the environment.

The second type of magic weapons were the attribute less magic weapons. They drew power from the mana core of its master, who can imbue it with any elements that he or she possessed. Unfortunately, these weapons were extremely rare, as they could only be forged by blacksmith master of the dwarves.

If only she had acquired the second type of magic swords, she would now be able to use the full power of the swordsmanship skill she possessed.

'Do not be so quick to conclusions, dear Freya.' Artium spoke as if sensing her thoughts. 'You have not even begun to properly learn swordsmanship, yet you are already greedy for such powerful weapons.'

'First you should focus on learning the footwork and attack techniques, then after that you can worry about using the lightning based attacks.' He finished.

'You are right, I should focus on that first.' Freya agreed. 'I was too hasty. It has barely been a week that I have begun to learn swordsmanship and I am already thinking about magic weapons. It just after obtaining the 'Demonic Severance' sword, I was too eager to use it.'

'That's understandable, but remember that sword has a mind of its own.' Art reminded her. 'It may not be intelligent but it will still be difficult to gain its recognition.'

Freya nodded as with a wave of her hand the blue colored menus vanished from her sight. 'Now what should we do?'

'It seems you are forgetting something. You also gained a skill book after killing the spider, remember? Why don't you check it out?'

Freya had completely forgotten about that. She had just been so elated to have survived her fight and too concerned with her wounds that she hadn't bothered to read the system messages. Now that Art had reminded her of the book, she instantly rummaged her bag and found a small orange book with pristine book. As soon as she brought it out, a menu appeared before her.

[Skill: Stamina Freak

Type: Passive

Rank: Rare

Description: A skill that increases the stamina regeneration. It is a valuable tool for training.

Effect:

i) +100% Stamina regeneration outside of combat.]

As she read the description, her excitement increased greatly. Although the skill had no use in combat, outside of combat it exponentially increased her stamina. This meant she could train for longer without getting tired. While her current stamina stat was far greater than before, it still was not enough to maintain her vigorous training for more than a few hours. This skill will change that.

[Would you like to learn this skill? Y/N]

Freya immediately learned the skill and felt something change inside her. She felt her body change, but could not guess the nature of the change just by this feeling.

'Now go to sleep, you've had a busy day, get some rest.' Art spoke, 'Starting tomorrow, you will begin to learn the Lightning King's Swordsmanship.'

Freya nodded her head as although her recently learned had increased her stamina regeneration, she was still too tired from all the work she had done today. It was a busy day indeed, but its rewards were just as great. In just a day she had become a Gold rank adventurer, became client of an exclusive information guild, killed a budding tribe of goblins and even killed a powerful magic beast.

Freya instinctively cut off her connection with Art as she went to take a shower before bed. Over the last few days, she had gotten used to having a voice in her head. Some may consider that concerning but she thought nothing of it.
