The new quest window appeared before Freya after Othgor's challenge, yet there was still time before they fought. So Freya focused on the next fight that was about to take place. So far the defenders of Havenfall town were ahead, but the Orcs were only a single victory away from evening the score.
The next fight began as two new individuals entered the battlefield. From their side, the second mercenary leader, Gorr walked forward, wielding two small steel knives. He wore a similar leather armor to his now deceased companion. He also had an air of confidence but he was not as boastful as the late Jenga.
From the side of the orcs, a green warrior over six feet tall came forward. He wielded a one-handed curved steel sword and an iron shield. He wore only leather pants with no protection for the torso. A quick analysis with her trait told Freya he was nothing special. Although his level was higher than Freya at 32, she had fought and killed stronger.
The following duel was a long and boring one. Gorr made some probing quick attacks with his knives, which were blocked by the Orc warrior. The orc then counterattacked with a slash and a jab of his sword, but the quick mercenary dodged it with ease. This will continue for almost twenty minutes, where the two would either block or dodge the other's attacks before replying with their.
Another five minutes later, the orc managed to disarm the mercenary, who quickly surrendered, ending the fight with a victory for the orcs and a final score of 2-2.
The two fighters returned to their respective sides and a new duo proceed to the middle of the dusty field. The orc mage, Kara, stepped forward with her staff in hand. She was confronted by Ariane, who also held her magic staff.
"I hope you give me a more satisfying fight than the last human mage I killed." The orc boasted with toothy grin.
"Only if you find death satisfying." Ariane replied with a smile that almost seemed innocent.
With that, the conversation ended as Kara began the duel with a second circle spell, "Shearing Wind Blades!"
Four crescent blades of white misty wind formed in front of the mage and flew towards Ariane with blinding speed.
"Earthen Barrier!" A one-meter tall wall of condensed earth erupted from the ground in front of Ariane with a single wave of her staff. The wind blades collided with the wall, creating a cloud of dust but failing to pass through. Ariane replied with spell of her own as she waved her staff and the transparent gem on its head glowed a light red hue, "Fiery Spikeball!"
The second circle spell materialized in front of the priestess of Orion in a huge one-meter ball of raging flames filled with long spikes. The spiky ball rolled down the ground and smashed through the earthen barrier before moving towards the Orc, destroying everything in its path.
Kara realized the danger of the flaming of ball of destruction as it was a top tier second circle spell and no protective spell from the second circle will be able to fully block the coming fire element spell. So she was forced to cast the first third circle spell of the duel.
"Blue Orc Guardian!" A powerful spell that Kara had inherited from her late master was cast, taking longer than the other spells as the ball was almost upon her. In a quick moment, a large amount of water vapor from the surrounding air compressed in to a giant four-meter tall humanoid glob.
The glob ran into the incoming spike ball and collided with it and the two exploded in a chaotic blast of fire and mist, but the humanoid water glob managed to protect its master. While the explosion had completely destroyed the wrecking ball, it only destroyed half of the water giant. The water giant reformed itself as more water condensed from the air and returned to its humanoid form. The water vapor continued to condense as the shape of the water giant changed, and more prominent features took shape.
The giant water monster now took the distinct shape of a huge Orc that held a two-handed greatsword just as large as itself. The Blue Orc guardian was a powerful third circle spell that summoned a five-meter tall water guardian that fought for the caster. Unfortunately for Kaya, the relatively dry air around Havenfall had reduced its size to four meter but it was still a dangerous opponent. However, the spell also had a weak point as it continuously drained its caster's mana and Kara could only maintain it for five minutes at max, so she immediately ordered the water giant to attack her opponent.
The Giant monster rushed towards Ariane, who still in shock at the sight of it. Although she was also a third circle mage, she didn't possess any spells that could summon a nature spirits to fight on her behalf. She naturally mistook the approaching giant Orc as a nature spirit due to its appearance but it was only a water construct that could follow basic commands and not capable of complex thoughts like nature spirits.
Ariane also cast a third circle from her repertoire in response, "Scarlet Battlegear!"
Ariane waved her staff as its crystal glowed red and caused five three meter large constructs of fire to appear around her. All were weapons made of red and yellow flames that exuded extreme heat. A Greatsword, a huge Spear, a giant Battle-axe, a long Halberd and a bulky mace, all were aimed at the approaching giant. With another flick of her staff, the five weapons of fire flew at the water giant with great speed.
The two spells collided in exactly the middle of the two mages as the giant swung his greatsword against the closest fire weapon that was the flying giant spear. An explosion of flame and mist covered the point of contact, destroying the giant's sword and fiery weapon.
The next fire weapon to collide with the giant water orc was the greatsword and it took away his left arm in another violent explosion of mist and flames. The Orc still lashed against the next weapon, the battle-axe with his remaining hand, destroying it along with the axe.
Next came the fiery Halberd that destroyed the upper torso of the blue orc guardian and finally the last weapon was the huge burning mace that created the largest explosion on impact and completely obliterating the charging monster.
At the end, barely meter tall remnant of the giant orc's feet remained standing alone in a battered field. Kara released the spell, causing the small pillar of water to fall to the ground. She could have restored the guardian, but the mana requirement was too high.
Now, the mages stood opposite to each other on the battlefield, having wasted a good portion of their mana reserves they planned their next moves.
