Freya stood in the waiting room outside the Mayor office in the administrative building along with Maria, Alex and Ariane. The servants had served them some tea and biscuits and asked them to wait for a little while. The mayor was quite busy with administrative matters in the aftermath of yesterday's battle.
The four of them didn't mind, and the captain was already running late as well. Morris was busy organizing the troops and delegating new duties to better appropriate the available manpower. He had asked them to go ahead as he would be late.
Freya was calmly drinking her cup of tea and inconspicuously studied the details of her newly evolved trait on a blue pane visible only to her.

At first, she had wanted to upgrade her swordsmanship skill, but in the end she decided not to because it was only a temporary skill according to Artium and it would only be a waste to use the evolution card for a temporary skill.
Her other skills were already quite powerful, and even the 'Keen Eyes' trait was also powerful. However, unlike her other skill, the value of this trait was far more valuable than others when it came to information gathering. As such, Freya had decided to use the Evolution card on the Keen Eyes trait.
And her decision proved to be the right one. The newly evolved skill was not only twice as powerful, it also gained two new amazing effects. Pair that with the 10 stat increase to her insight stat, and the boost that her trait had received was enormous.
With her new and more powerful trait, Freya could see the complete stats of a person, as well as his titles and main skill, along with all the previous information. Freya was quite happy with her choice.
Just then, a maid walked into the waiting room and spoke, "The Mayor will see you now."
The four adventurers stood up and followed after the maid to the Mayor's Office. Inside the spacious office, an old bearded man dressed in an expensive black suit stood behind a table and was staring out of the window.
The maid informed him of their arrival and the feeble white haired man turned around to look at them, "Welcome, my heroes and my apologies for keeping you waiting. The work couldn't be delayed."
"But I digress. Please take a seat. I am Alfred Firestone, the mayor of this small town." He pointed to the seat opposite to him across the table and sat down carefully into his chair.
As the adventurers took their seats, he continued, "I understand the lot of you are to report back to Mayor Wulfric as soon as possible, so I won't delay you for long."
"Your contributions towards protecting this humble town are unimaginable. No matter what rewards I give to you, it will never be enough, still allow this poor old man to at least try." Alfred motioned towards the maid and soon two servants walked in holding a big wooden chest.
"All of you will receive three ingots of pure Orichalcum worth fifty gold coins each." With a gesture from the mayor, the servants opened the chest, which contained fifteen deep red ingots of metal. "In addition to this, I will put in a good word regarding all of you with the Adventurers association. I still have a few friends there."
"As for the slayer of the orc leader" the Mayor turned to look at Freya, "I have something special for you." With a snap of his fingers, two more servants walked into the room carrying a large object covered in a piece of cloth. The mayor stood up from his seat and walked towards it.
"According to your Captain, Mr. Morris, without you, it would have been a lot more difficult to deal with the leader." He walked toward the cloth covered object and took a hold of the cloth with his slightly wrinkled hands. "He said we may even have lost the battle and causing tremendous damage to Havenfall."
"I also heard from the soldiers that your armor was greatly damaged during your fight with that giant monster. So as a token of my gratitude, I wanted to give you this." He unveiled the object to reveal an elegant dark red plated armor which seemed to be made of the same Orichalcum-Steel alloy that was used in the soldiers' armor.
On the chest of the torso armor was a crest with a golden head of a roaring lion. The armor started from the waist and end on the shoulder guards. It had few scuffs here and there, but Freya was too enamored with its excellent craftsmanship to notice them.
The Mayor noticed her eyes linger on the crest on the armor and spoke, "It was a gift from Count Dorian himself on my appointment as the town's mayor. That is his family crest on the breastplate. It was a symbol of our brotherhood. Alas, I am now too old for it. I hope you will make good use of it."
"It would be my honor, Mr. Mayor." Freya thanked the mayor with a small bow and then examined the breastplate as she placed her hand on it.

Freya patiently studied the breastplate. Its defense was twice as much as her previous Bronze leather armor. She graciously accepted the gift with a bow and took the armor from the servants. It had a weight to it, but with Freya's high strength, she was able to lift it easily.
"I will be eternally grateful for this gift, my lord." The mage bowed one final time.
With a nod, the mayor continued once more, "All right, the five of you are now considered heroes in Havenfall. So feel free to visit or if you need anything you only need to ask."
