The fire spell exploded upon impact and sent the mage tumbling away across the arena. Luckily, Freya’s current fire resistance was 60%, mitigating more than half of the damage she received.

Still, the spell that hit her was a third circle spell, so even 40% of the total damage was very high. As soon as she landed, the swordswoman quickly rolled over and stood up, before shouting, “Ground Zero!”

A layer of ice spread around her in a flash, preventing her opponent from capitalizing on her mistake. The ice spell dropped the surrounding temperature rapidly, even dousing the flames that remained.

The Troll Skin skill immediately healed the burns on her face, returning her face to its flawless state. With one spell, she had completely overturned her sudden loss of the prerogative.
