The commander of the forces, Mark, was looking into the abyss that led to a huge cavern. As the soldiers prepared ropes to descend into the cave, Mark contemplated the conversation he had had with Harold.
The commander respected the adventurer that had saved this whole town. He had realized that she was quite strong, stronger than any platinum ranked adventurer. After all, she had managed to do something that even the army had failed to do.
Yet, he had a hard time believing what he had heard from Harold. It was simply too preposterous.
Being familiar with this region, he had heard tales of a benevolent tree that had turned evil and was sealed by a powerful mage. He had always thought it was a myth, but he was proven wrong.
Even if he could accept that, he had a hard time accepting that such a young mage was able to kill the monster that even a powerful mage from legends had failed to kill. Mark guessed he was about to find out.
