Blackmailing Dumbledore

(Third person POV)

"Finally! The masterpiece with centuries-old history got its destined owner." Loudly exclaimed Ollivander.

Noah's lips curled up slightly:'Either this old man is too happy to pass this trouble to someone else, or he's a true master of wand-making who can genuinely be satisfied by finding a master for a masterpiece. We'll see in the future, but the start is not that bad...'

"You got your wand, little friend. But it's incomplete."

"Why defective product chooses my grandson?" Fredrick shouted from the side. He was excited that an ancient wand chose his precious Heir, but this old geezer said this wand is incomplete. At this moment his equally high if not higher age was conveniently forgotten.

"You got me wrong, Mr. Emrys," answered Ollivander, a little agitated by the sudden outburst.

"My great-great-great....-grandfather noted that he used a demiguise heartstring as a core for this wand. According to him, only when a pair for this core is found can the wand function properly. After a series of experiments with it, he found the unique characteristics of demiguise core: it is extremely difficult to use. He thought that there should be some kind of solution. There were several updates on this research.

The last solution he came up with is using part of the fated owner's body as part of the core. Demiguise is known as a kind beast that helps those in need, so part of the owner might activate it."

"Is hair okay?"

"I guess so, my boy. Just give me one strand, then we will see."

Noah pulled out a strand of hair readily.

Ollivander took the hair and the wand. There was a little hole on the bottom end of the wand that cannot be seen without paying attention. Ollivander put the hair inside and took his own wand out. After using a series of chants and complex transmutation magic, the wand's hole was sealed.

"Here, Mr. Noah. Pinewood, the best wand for non-verbal spells, adapts well to the wizard. According to my grandfather, this wood was taken from the oldest pine at that time. Demiguise core, extremely potent when you channel your emotions, can sense the future. 13 and a half inches, brittle.

You got the best wand of Ollivanders. I hope to see your success in the wizarding world, Mr. Noah."

After paying for the wand (Ollivander insisted that they should pay only 7 galleons, as it's the tradition, otherwise, he didn't want them to pay at all), the duo left the shop.

"Let's go, we're late for lunch." Fredrick didn't seem that surprised. After 11 years, he was used to his grandson's ridiculous talent and aptitude for magic. This unique wand was within his expectations.

Noah put his hand on his arm and with a 'swish', they were gone.

(MC's POV)

After having our lunch and recounting my experience of getting my wand to others, I am finally free.

The first thing I do is write a letter to my Headmaster. I did think of writing it yesterday, but getting a strong wand and then asking for something seemed more tactful. I am pretty sure that Ollivander and Dumbledore have a good relationship, and it is possible that he is sitting in front of the grey wizard, listening to the story of the "strongest wand our family has ever created finding its master"...

-------

(Third-person POV)

"Today is the day, which should be written in the records of the Ollivander family, as the strongest wan our family has ever created found its fated owner. Albus, I say, he has the potential to be the greatest wizard of our Era."

Ollivander said so as he sipped his brandy. His eyes seemed brighter, his body also looked more energetic.

Looking at the man who looked like he has drunk an energy drink, Dumbledore thought silently:'Hornbeam wand is truly worthy of being the wand which belongs to the person with obsession.' But he didn't sound his thoughts.

"Garrick, what reaction did you get from Mr. Noah when you said he got the most powerful wand you have?"

To this seemingly casual question from the old man, Ollivander answered without hesitation:

"A bit excited, yes, only a bit. Just like he got a simple wand. That boy is a bit calm, compared to his peers who look like they are ready to do something that can shock the world when I praise the wand they got. Now I think about it, even his grandfather was not that surprised."

"Maybe he is really confident with his grandson..." Dumbledore's eyes twinkled. He should pay more attention to this kid.

After bidding farewell to the man obsessed with wands, Dumbledore summoned Fawkes and they teleported to Headmaster's office.

Sitting on his chair comfortably, popping a sherbet lemon into his mouth, Headmaster opened the drawer of the table with his wand. He took the little glass phial which had an illusory silvery substance that flowed in a random pattern, not obeying the laws of physics. This was a memory.

As old man caressed the glassware with his fingers, tapping on the table with his other hand - a sign of contemplation - seemingly pondering over putting it on Pensieve. Suddenly, flames burst in front of him and a phoenix appeared.

Dumbledore's eyes twinkled. Seeing the indignant bird spitting the letter from its beak onto the table and vanishing, his lips curled up.

Fawkes let out an angry snort.

"There there, Fawkes. Don't judge a person by one act. Maybe there is a reason behind this. Now, let's see who uses a phoenix to send a letter."

The sealing wax on the letter was green colored and displayed the coat of arms of a certain family: the letter E is in the center, complex patterns surround it, and staff and sword stand on the back like the letter X.

"Emrys family, huh, where did they get phoenix?" He muttered to himself while opening the envelope.

Dear Headmaster Dumbledore

I read the acceptance letter carefully, and, to my surprise, there is a section that says only a toad, owl, or cat is allowed at school. The matter is, I have some pets that do not fit this criterion. They are kind demiguise, sleepy snake, phoenix(which you have seen, I assume), and little bowtruckle. They are absolutely harmless, and I promise you that I will be fully responsible for their actions at school. I kindly ask you to allow me to bring them with me, or I will be forced to decline to study at Hogwarts. My pets will never agree to be separated from me.

Yours sincerely,

Noah Emrys

After reading the letter Headmaster gazed at the dark sky through the window.

"I didn't expect to get a letter from the hero of our day. Mr. Noah seems to walk the path of his Ancestor in Slytherin..."
