The roof of the Rose Garden was like a round row of rose petals. Each of the tables there has the shape of rose petals with colors that blend together, while the edges of the roof are decorated with giant petal-shaped fences, although the shape is much more like a slide that is slightly wider than a fence.
The full moon floated majestically right behind the Rose Garden building, giving the creatures above the impression that they were now dealing with a violet full moon.
Jane had just come out of her Yota. The girl just realized that the floor she was standing on was now covered with a thin dew up to her ankles, with a violet color. She then looked around her.
All the creatures that came out of the elevator, as well as those who had reached the exit of the stairs, had now just reached the roof. There were various kinds of creatures that were gathering on the roof of the giant building. Jane could notice that there were not only creatures from the upper layers of the earth, but creatures living at L-3.5 and below were also here.
She memorized all of Candrasa's subordinates and members through the various information she had during her one year here. Jane also knew the characteristics of the beings who served as Senior Workers because, even when viewed from the type of clothing and accessories, they would be on a completely different level of economy from the beings at the top.
Senior Workers much prefer to decorate their bodies and clothes with various shiny items such as gold, pearls, or crystals. There were all sorts of colors, even colors so dark and so intense that it was impossible for ordinary creatures at L-04 to L-07 to buy.
Among the many creatures on this roof, the only creatures who had the exact same clothes and slightly different appearances were the Servant Fairies. They walked around carrying trays of snacks and several clear light blue glasses.
Most of the fairies are often used as servants. They are quite active and easy to socialize with. Even for fairies, work is like a worship for them, so the majority of creatures from the fairy race think that being a servant is a noble job.
Even so, fairies were only used as servants in certain areas other than the 07th subsoil region, at the top. They do not like, and are never willing to serve humans. They only want to serve other races, but not humans. Usually, the higher the level of the race in this layer of soil, the fairies would feel so noble if they were able to become their servants.
They would not want to serve a race that was below them.
Jane tried to blend into the crowd as she walked towards the end of the roof. She took a glass of the clear drink from the fairy tray that passed by. Well, all the food and drinks on the rooftop are free, but Jane has to be more careful because sometimes a lot of food is made of human flesh. She rarely took food, or snacks, and usually she only took drinks because they rarely used human blood as a common drink. Human blood is more often used as a drink for important formal events, and not just any creature can enjoy it.
Drinks made from the basic ingredients of human blood usually have a darker color and are more concentrated. They are also slightly thicker. That was the reason Jane could easily recognize the type of drink.
Jane's eyes looked around. She was more curious about the tip of the roof, about the whereabouts of the Star Lake, they said, and the location of the Black Valley, than caring about the presenters, who were now about to start this big party and ritual.
Jane realized when she first saw the giant full moon. Even though she felt bad because she could see the millions of spirits that were glued to the surface of the giant moon, the girl was still reluctant to admit her own fear.
That moon reminded her of someone.
That moon made her remember the death of one of her comrades.
She didn't want to admit her fear, but she couldn't help but be overly vigilant either.
On this roof, in tonight's ritual celebration, that creature could certainly be present.
Jane was absolutely sure he was here.
She tried to control her own expression. Jane didn't speak to anyone; her steps were still focused on the tip of the roof to get closer to the moon again. This roof, just like the building, has a width that is not kidding. It was like walking from end to end of a football field. Jane tried to avoid the group of creatures who were busy talking because she knew that the creatures would be very chatty with strangers.
She didn't want to be questioned any further about herself, especially since she was alone.
"That's right ..." the girl squeaked, staring at the giant full moon after she made it to the end of the roof. Her body was directly blocked by a red fence that looked like a giant flower petal.
"He must be here," Jane thought subconsciously.
The girl then looked down, only to realize that the part she was stepping on was not covered with dew, so that she could see the glass showing the part of the lake of stars under her feet.
"This is the part where we will drop, huh? It seems like?" she thought again.
The lake is actually right behind the giant building of the Rose Garden. It was only then that Jane realized that on the other side of the lake, there was a valley directly beneath the giant moon, and even though the valley was already lit by moonlight, it was still dark and black and so dense.
Jane swallowed her saliva, seeing the stretch of white sand in the valley. The Lake of the Stars, which they considered sacred, turned out to have the same color as the valley that flanked it, black. The only thing that made the lake look beautiful was the reflection of the moonlight reaching the surface of the lake. While the land around the valley and lake is full of white sand and a collection of oak trees that no longer have leaves or fruit.
Jane could imagine that right away. She was sure that the land felt very dead when she set foot on it. There were no green leaves, not as lush as the forest when he came to this rose garden, and not the slightest bit of flowers. There were only dead trees, white sand, and black cliff walls and lakes.
"I didn't think I'd be able to see such a good disguise here," said someone, making Jane freeze. "What are you looking for? Miss?" reprimands the voice.
Jane knew; she remembered that voice very well. She could never forget the crazy battle on the mainland of Nusantara back when that person had toyed with them. She never forgot how her comrade was crushed in front of her eyes.
The girl didn't want to move at all, however, without asking Jane any more questions. The figure now walked even closer, pulled Jane's hair from behind, released Jane's horns with a snap of his fingers, and forced the girl's body to turn her body to look at him.
"Long time no see ... Jane?" rebuked the man, grinning, making Jane hold her breath involuntarily.
