"All the creatures that are here are born with one special ability: Sirens who are known as amphibians; giants, who are physically stronger than any creature, Wrena, who is immortal and can awaken their "natural" powers after going through certain conditions; fairies, who are naturally able to fly, glow, and are able to heal other creatures after going through some training, and humans." Renik spoke at length. "I also believe that humans have natural powers, if they can pass the requirements."
"That's your theory?" asked Jane.
Renik wanted to shake her head or say no, but she chose to continue what she was saying, "The requirement for wrena to be able to have strength is to train their physique and concentration to become very high. The more they concentrate, the more powerful they become. They can also transmit that power through interbreeding. Humans, can get some of the characteristics of the wrena by being cannibals without interbreeding. The genes possessed by humans and Wrena are not much different.
"In contrast to the way wrena increases her strength using physical training and concentration, the requirements that humans must meet are to fast and meditate. Humans just need full concentration and without expecting anything, including food, to get their special powers. That is why, humans must be able to live fasting, without eating and drinking while maintaining their sanity.
"If humans succeed, their life level will rise, and that ability… they can finally acquire."
Still in a standing position, Renik closed her eyes, took in as deep a breath as possible, and then exhaled slowly. She was trying to focus her soul, touch her body from within, find a blemish to open herself up, and release the soul from her own body. She began to understand the procedures for doing things like this. Slowly, she could feel that her consciousness was shifting to a different side, and when she opened her eyes, her soul had simply been released along with Renik's body, which had fallen, lying on the floor of the cave.
Jane swallowed full saliva with her eyes perfectly rounded when she saw the soul released just like that when Renik opened her eyes. Renik's body is translucent, the color is white mixed with a slightly faded blue. In the past, she had also seen things like this when she was on Earth, they used to call things like this a Spirit.
Separating a Spirit from a living human body was definitely not easy. In this world, ghosts don't exist. No one will be able to enter Renik's empty body, other than her own soul. That's what Jane was thinking right now.
"What can you do with a body like that?" Jane asked Renik.
"Passing through objects, invisible to the naked eye, like you said before, I can fly too. Physical attacks won't be able to kill me, either…" Renik sat down beside his original body, which was sleeping, unconscious. "I'm still trying to figure this out, but it seems, I was able to break through to the bottom third layer of soil."
Jane's eyes widened at that, "You know where it is?!" the girl asked in disbelief.
Of course, not many can afford to go there. The first obstacle to getting to L-03 is finding the portal to get there first. So far, Jane really doesn't know how to get there. Not even many ordinary citizens were able to find a portal to that region. They said the only people who were able to get there were Candrasa's subordinates, and the Senior Workers at L-3.5.
"There's one way to get there, Jane." Renik spoke quietly. A long time ago, she had reached that gate. Maybe about two or three years ago. She had studied this skill ever since, but she had only been able to practice it properly now.
"Do you know?" Jane asked, still in disbelief. Why didn't she ever ask Renik something like this? Jane again sighed softly, "Besides, even though I already knew, they'd kill me right away." The girl thought subconsciously.
"Someone accidentally took me there long before I met you." Renik answered calmly.
"Then why did you end up in this forest? And follow me? If that person ever takes you there, that means she's quite strong and reliable, right?" asked Jane back.
Renik smiled faintly at the woman in front of her, "She's dead." She even regretted obeying her old colleague's message. Yet if she didn't hide, if she didn't disappear, maybe she could just die with her.
The little girl still didn't even understand why she had to live until now.
Jane swallowed her saliva hearing Renik's calm answer, "Do you want to try there again?"
"Don't you want to try playing around there?" asked Renik back.
Yes, Jane was obviously very willing to accept the offer. She was very curious about the contents of the bottom three Soil Layers. She had given up her life many times in this year's wandering, seeking entertainment, seeking new knowledge in a world that did not want her to live in the majority.
All this time, she had only wandered to satisfy her desires. Death doesn't matter as long as it's not suicide. She did give up on her life, but that didn't mean she wanted to kill herself. After all, she has Renik who must continue to be with her. Maybe if they traveled together, protected each other, and strengthened each other together. She was able to find her purpose in life again, which made much more sense than returning to Earth and defeating the Candrasas.
The girl sighed softly at Renik's bold invitation, but she didn't mind either. "Listen," Jane muttered as she packed her things into a backpack. She'd probably fill the backpack with some more stuff halfway through. "How long have you been able to separate yourself from your body, Nik?"
"One week."
Jane sighed at that, "That's not enough..." the girl mumbled subconsciously, "Maybe you should go on a trip too?"
"Isn't it dangerous?"
"I'll give you some equipment to fight," Jane replied casually. "So we're going to leave this cave huh?" asked the girl carefully, "You might die, Renik."
"With Jane, even dying doesn't seem like a big deal to me."
Renik smiled at Jane, who was now looking at her with an even expression. She knew Jane didn't like words like that. But Renik didn't lie about what she said. It's better to die with Jane, than to let her loved ones die for her.
There is no future in this world for humans.
Why also live for long in a world like this?
