Alice says, "We are going to do the hardest quest that nobody has ever completed: The Divine Trinity Quest."
"Uh-huh?" That sounds a bit interesting. . .
"In this quest, we will search for the three Divine Frames."
"What are those?"
"They're the most powerful Frames that have ever existed. An Anthropic Frame, a Daemonic Frame, and an Angelic Frame. They are said to be near the edge of the world or should I say, in other words, the edge of the server."
"What did you say?" I ask.
"Weren't you listening?" she complains. "Do I have to repeat everything I said?"
"No, no, no. Just. . . the last part."
"That these Frames are said to be found near the edge of the Server?"
"Yes! That part!"
"Say, does that place really exist in this world?" I ask.
"Yes, of course. Although it is so hard to get there."
What did Mother mean about finding her there? I could only assume that she was playing this game. There are billions of games that use the word, "Server" but I feel that this game is what she meant. It's just a hunch but I want to find out! I want to find out if this was the game she played. Maybe I could learn something about my past and my condition. I've decided. I'm going to learn everything about this game!
I was a bit too excited that I surprised her as my face is stretched out smiling. I clear my throat and say, "I just wanted to confirm."
She suspects me. "I'm interested. Let me hear!" Her face is too close as she blinks thrice.
"I'd rather not."
"Why?"
"It's something personal."
"Tch! You're boring. No wonder you have no friends."
"Hey! You don't know what I've been through!"
"Alright, alright. Just pick up the dagger already."
"Fine!"
I sigh to cool my head off. This girl is really pushing me. I grab the dagger by the hilt and it's surprisingly heavy for its small size. Then a screeching metallic noise shivers my spine. The gate of the castle opens. Guards flood into the ballroom. All of them want to kill us.
"Zaori!" a distinguishable Angelus among them roars. So that's Alice's name in this world. The man has a large stature, buffed up, wearing heavy armor, and wielding two greatswords.
Grinning, Alice says, "Oh, Gabriel! How long has it been? Two centuries?"
"Don't you know what you're doing?!"
"Uhm. . .," she thinks, looking to the side and touching her lips with her finger. "We do!" She's mocking him.
"You're declaring war!"
"We've always been at war."
"Take back what you stole and we'll spare your people!"
"Return the Angel's Bane!" the others yell in chorus.
"Uh. . . Alice?" I say, confused about what I should do.
"Why are you looking at me? You're the one who has the Angel's Bane. Go kill them all!"
"Alice!" I complain.
She laughs before shooting a fireball right at the entrance. "Follow me!" The exit is cleared and I follow behind her.
She goes head-to-head against Gabriel using her Angelus frame. Their clash is so catastrophic that a flash of light along with the shaking of the ground makes me trip.
"We have fought for a thousand times, Zaori!" I hear him growl. "If only you and your people gave up taking us down, both of our kind should've lived together in peace!"
"Looking at your Goddess," she reasons. "that will never be possible! CancerAssassin, attack him!"
Oh, that's my name. I spaced out for a moment. She wants me to attack this powerful guy while they're contesting each other's grips. I have to act fast! Charging, I keep the dagger extending in front of me, aiming to stab his abdomen. But he knees my wrist and then Alice kicks his chest. She grabs his right wing and pulls it off from his back. He roars in pain.
There are some guards still standing but she fends them off. "Grab my hand!" she calls to me.
Her powerful wings spread just as I got a hold of her hand. She flaps her wings once and the Angeli around us are blown away. After we exit the gates, she takes us down, diving into the dense cloud. I look back and I see Gabriel glaring at us from the staircase. The guards who have wings chase after us.
"They're unto us!" I inform her.
"Okay, I'll be back."
"What? What do you—" She lets go of me! "Argh!!!" I'm going to fall to my death! "Alice!" I yell but she's busy fighting off the Angeli. I can't see her in the middle of this thick cloud! I'm gonna die! "Alice!!!"
