The Phantom is on its way to us. I go down for Lucy's lips and use my mouth to make her open her jaw. Then down the candy goes. With my tongue, I push further until she swallows it.
"You have nowhere to go now!" the Phantom cackles.
I figure out it's gonna take time until she vomits. That is. . . if Alice didn't lie to me. For that moment, my shadows are all I've got although they are a little weak because of the lights. To stop it effectively, I strike it on the mask. It barely did anything.
We're done for.
Or so I thought.
Light breaks out with a powerful blast. And the next thing I know I'm on the ground far from the stage that has been riddled into bits. There, Lucy is in her Angelus Frame with her fist against the mask of the Phantom. She grits her teeth while her saliva is dripping from the corner of her lips. The parasite is under her heel, crushed like a maggot. She looks mad but spent.
Then a kick sends the Phantom crashing into the bleachers in the distance. The people are already evacuating. Lucy kneels in exhaustion. Her bow serves as her support.
She looks at me and gasps in worry. "Cancer!"
Oh, that's right. I'm all battered up. Just now, I feel it's fine to rest and close my eyes. But then she heals me in a single second. My arms are back and my wounds close.
"Thank goodness!!!" I exhale in relief.
I've never felt more alive! Earlier, I felt nothing like I was ready to die. . . like. . . I was a different person without emotion! What happened there? Was that how I'm like if I'm ready to die?
"Hey!" Lucy snaps me out of it. "Are you okay?"
After clearing my throat and standing up, I say, "I am. Sorry."
"No, I should be the one who's sorry. I can't believe I let my guard down as the right hand of the Queen. Thank you for that, back there." She smiles a little, subtly biting her lip.
Oh, I uh. . . kissed her back there. But I had no choice, alright? I had no hands to put the candy in her mouth.
"You're welcome," I say.
Alice was telling the truth after all. I can see her from here. She's smirking from her balcony.
"Is that the Phantom of the Rave?" Lucy asks.
"Yeah," I answer, swallowing as it gathers itself to retaliate. "but it's getting bigger. We should get out of here."
"Let's beat it together." Her face looks so sure.
"What? With me?! No way! You can do it alone!" I sneak away from her. "I'll get in the way if I—" But she pulls me by the horn.
"Don't be a girl. Queen Zaori told me that you soloed the Guardian Angel—the boss that we could never beat."
"But that was different!"
"It's coming here."
Although most of them are injured, the scattered DJs are resilient in making use of the remaining equipment they have. They play electro battle music. The Phantom is crawling toward us. It looks disgusting and horrifying! I want to run away but Lucy looks so determined to stand her ground. Maybe she's ought to do something incredible.
"Incoming!" she yells and dodges at the last second!
WHAT THE HELL?!!
Luckily, I manage to dodge in time as the Phantom chaotically makes a mess along its path.
"What was that?!" I yell at her.
"What was what?" she asks like she didn't do anything.
"I thought you were about to shoot it or something!"
"What are you talking about? That was a bluff."
"Then don't do that again! You almost killed me!"
"It was your fault that you got fooled." She raspberries.
Argh! She's as annoying as Zaori!
The Phantom charges at us again four more times. After that, it pauses to take a break. I think that's Move Set #1. Then a beam of light hits it. The explosion is fiery like a bomb. It came from Lucy.
"It's quite tough," she remarks with narrowed eyes. The Phantom is unscathed.
"What are you doing?" I ask. "Shoot it again! Right at the mask!"
"I hit it in the mask."
"Try again!"
"Calm down, girl. There will always be next time."
It goes on with its next move. This time, it jumps onto the bleachers and screams. It shoots chunks of flesh from its body. They rain down everywhere. We evade them but as soon as they hit the ground, they alter into zombies! Hordes of them surround us! Lucy shoots them with her bow. All I could do is duck so that I won't get in her line of shot.
"Hey, help me!" she demands.
"How could I help you?"
"Kill them, of course!"
"My Angelus Frame is weak, you know!" Then the ground beneath me explodes. "ARGH!!!" I'm in the air and I knew. She shot at me! Look at her smirk! When I land, I roar, "What are you doing? Are you trying to kill me?!"
"Don't expect me to carry you like a baby. I don't care if you die!"
After saving her from that parasite, this is how she repays me. Unbelievable!
The zombies are gathering around. I use my Angelus Frame and realize I have no idea what this thing could do. Well, I guess I'll just have to punch.
"Raughrrr!!!" a zombie growls behind me.
I slip from its grasp and then punch its face. Like watermelon against a bat, it explodes into pieces. I do the same to the others around me. They're so soft, what the hell?
"There ya go!" Lucy cheers. "Finish them all!"
We do what we can to fend them off but she kills a lot of them with a single shot. They're nothing but ants to her while I have to get my hands dirty. My fists are covered in blood now and some of it landed on my lips. The taste is horrible!
At last, we killed the last of them. "Kill it in one shot!" I yell at her desperately.
She aims at the Phantom as she says, "Don't boss me around. I'll blow it up into pieces!"
