SECOND CHANCE

"MISS YUJIN, I made hot chocolate for you."

Yujin was pleasantly surprised when Miss Ihye, the long-time maid of the family, brought her favorite hot chocolate while she was resting in her room. "Thank you, ahjumma," she said, smiling. "I missed this!"

"I know, child," Miss Ihye said affectionately while handing the mug to her. "And your father knows that, too. The chairman actually asked me to make hot chocolate for you as soon as you agreed to stay for the night."

She just smiled and cupped the warm mug between her hands.

To be honest, she didn't know how to respond to that.

A part of her wanted to cave in and stop doubting the sincerity of her father and brother. But the other half hadn't forgotten how they neglected her in the past.

Hence, she was conflicted.

"I'm sorry, Miss Yujin," Miss Ihye said apologetically. "It seems like this old woman said something useless."
