After having spent a long time at Nandu Affiliated Hospital No. 1, it was very late when he returned home, almost past one in the morning.
When Yang Ping came back, Xiao Su had been waiting for him. As she dozed off on the couch, she heard the door open and immediately sat up, rubbing her eyes: "Have you had dinner?"
"Not yet, how's the child?" Yang Ping was changing his shoes.
"She's with her grandmother in her room, being looked after. The food is all kept warm; I'll bring it over." Xiao Su brought a cup of warm water to Yang Ping, who sat down to rest.
"My dad is so stingy, inviting you for a consultation without even providing some snacks. I'll give him a piece of my mind next time. If my hubby starves because of him, I won't let it go," Xiao Su said angrily.
Yang Ping knew that his wife was worried about him and quickly replied: "Dad did offer me a meal, but I didn't want to eat at Affiliated Hospital No. 1; the food there isn't as good as home."
